Updated 02/12/2026 - Went through the drive-thru twice recently and so enjoy the kind staff at this restaurant.
One visit was simply for the Royal New York Cheesecake with Strawberries Blizzard. The entire family LOVED this dessert. It is hands-down the best fast-food dessert out there. It tastes just like strawberry cheesecake with large chunks of strawberries, cheesecake, and graham cracker crumbles.
The second visit was for meals and the aforementioned Blizzard. Our sandwiches were perfect - moist and fresh with a good amount of toppings, and their fries are always crunchy outside, soft inside, and hot!“

“First time to try this place. I can't believe the wide array of food they serve. It comes to you hot, fresh and delicious!!! I had gotten a Groupon that I'm very thankful for!!! We spent less money here than we would at Taco Bell or McDonald's! If I lived over by it, I would literally eat here every day!!! I got fried catfish, the Cajun ranch fries and a small chicken salad. Good Lord I've NEVER had a salad THAT good before!!! And I'm 54 yo!! It has a ton of stuff in it!!! My husband got the same Cajun fried and a gyro that was amazing as well!!! Tamara took my order with such a warm, professional tone that I honestly thought she might have been new—you could literally hear the smile in her voice! That positive energy carried through the entire experience.

Destiny assisted me at the window, confirmed my order and confirmed if I needed any condiments and suggested additional items that complimented my purchase. Natalie brought my food out with a smile and greeting as the entire process took less than four minutes. I felt like I had just gone through a NASCAR-speed drive-thru—in the best way possible!

The parking lot and surrounding area were clean and well kept. I bit into my biscuit right there in the drive-thru, and oh my goodness—it was so fresh, soft, and buttery that I had to ask who made it. They told me his name was Willie, and Willie definitely did his thing!

As a business owner, these are exactly the type of people I like to hire and have representing a company: friendly, professional, attentive, efficient, and genuinely pleasant.

Destiny mentioned the survey, but I wanted to take it a step further and leave a Google review because great service deserves to be recognized just as loudly as poor service gets complained about.

“Lately, I've been discovering more places that sell fast food sandwiches, you've got Subway or Quiznos, Jimmy John's, and of course Firehouse Subs. This place is a special place because of the tradition that goes on around here. The theme is it depicts a firefighter doing his/her duties. Hence the name firehouse, I wouldn't be surprised if fire fighters come here to eat all the time.

Food: I got the Cajun chicken and the Italian sub, these are both phenomenal very rich tasting. And almost like, they put effort into making the sandwich. The price is actually affordable. I have posted pictures of the menu if you were to look.

Atmosphere: Like I said, it feels like you're a fire fighter when you eat here, it almost feels like home like you're safe. It wasn't too busy when I was here. If you buy something at firehouse subs, you can contribute to first responders.

Service: Obviously I wouldn't be skipping this, but the service was amazing. They make your food right every time piping hot. Always quick and efficient. No missing ingredients.“

“If you want some good wings around Forestdale, this is the spot! Wings always on point, they season their food well, and if you want more of something like garlic pepper or cajun, they'll throw it on for you for no extra charge! Be aware though, this is not a place to sit down and eat your food after. There's a couple chairs for waiting, but that's it. The food is great quality and a great price. “Been here 3 days in a row. Got hibachi chicken with extra vegetables instead of rice the first night. It was good, just needed a little salt and pepper. I regretted not getting extra yum yum sauce. The next 2 nights I got a 10pc wing combo. The first night was no mods except I ordered 2 flavors and thought the nuclear sauce came on the side and my wings were split sauced 50/50 which was fine until that nuclear sauce hit me lol My man didn’t talk the rest of the night after I gave him one. It made the other 5 buffalo mild wings seem super hot, but I’m addicted now. Second set of wings drenched in wet ranch with a couple cups of nuclear sauce ON THE SIDE. This is the way to order it swimming in ranch with the nuclear sauce poured over it. I just finished it and I’m still thinking about it. My man got the 2pc catfish fried crispy and loved it. You still have to season your fries though. I’m not taking off a star for that, because I don’t mind putting my seasonings on it (just cavender’s, but IYKYK). Plus, extra points for having Coke Zero gets that extra star from me every time. +2 if you have root beer, because that makes my dude happy. *You can order online so when Spectrum in the area is being trash so you can still pay with a card. That’s what happened tonight and they still made my order with a smile* The staff has been super friendly and respectful each time I’ve went. Seems like they’re there to please the customers. I’m so lucky to have both of my favorite places to eat right next door to each other almost touching!!“

It was kind of entertaining, there were several people ahead of me in line and the staff called "next person please" and even repeat it several times and customers would just stand there and not move up... I have always regarded Chick-fil-A as a company that sets the standard for exceptional customer service, which is why my experience at Chick-fil-A in McCalla was so disappointing.

About a year ago, Sydney, the Marketing Coordinator at the McCalla Chick-fil-A, graciously offered our church, Friendship Baptist Church, 59 cards for free chicken biscuits to use on our church trip to the Ark Encounter in Kentucky. Because we were still in the planning stages, I was told there was no time restriction and that I simply needed to call when our departure date was finalized.

When it came time for our trip, I contacted Sydney, who informed me she was no longer in that role but assured me the offer would still be honored. She referred me to April, the new marketing representative. April was very kind and told me she didn't anticipate any issues but needed to discuss it with the restaurant manager before confirming.

Unfortunately, after waiting several weeks without hearing back, I contacted April again and was told that management had decided they no longer provide those promotional cards. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. More importantly, our congregation—many of whom are senior citizens—was disappointed because I had already shared the good news that Chick-fil-A would be providing complimentary chicken biscuits for our trip.

Thankfully, this story has a much better ending.

I reached out to the Chick-fil-A at Midtown Plaza in Birmingham and spoke with Tucker, one of the managers. After hearing what had happened, Tucker immediately stepped in to help. Not only did he honor the original commitment by providing the 59 breakfast cards, but he also contacted the Chick-fil-A in Kentucky to ensure they would accept the cards when our group arrived.

Tucker demonstrated the level of customer service that has made Chick-fil-A's reputation so strong. His willingness to help restored our faith in the Chick-fil-A brand.

As a person of faith, this experience reminded me that God always has a ram in the bush. While one location was unable to keep its promise, God provided someone else who could. Thank you, Tucker, for your kindness, integrity, and willingness to serve our church family. You made a lasting impression on all of us.“

“Bojangles, specifically this location, is a gem! The location is convenient, the food is excellent, and the staff have always been wonderful. In fast food, there's either fantastic customer service or terrible customer service, in general. Bojangles team members seem to love their work and generally enjoy being there, and it shows.
