“I’m not a coffee drinker. But a local chef(shout out to Whitney Simone!) I follow and patronize raved about Rochelle’s grit bowl, so I decided to try breakfast here. I wished that it was advertised that breakfast was sold here because I always thought this place was just a coffee spot. Anyway, I was sooooo impressed with the cuteness of the decor inside. It felt very cozy and intimate. Soft music played in the background. I love the branding on the cups and other merchandise for purchase. Upon entering, my friend and I were greeted warmly. We placed our orders and found a place to sit. The seats were comfy and a bright red that matched the theme of it also being a lounge. There was a little free library where you could take home a free book. There were several small tvs available to watch. Our food came out after a short wait. Yall….my grit bowl was absolutely splendid! The grits were creamy and perfect- not too thick, not too thin. The meats were delicious as were the eggs. My friend enjoyed his pancakes but also wanted to try the grit bowl after hearing me rave about mine. After he devoured his, he agreed that it was just as good as I told him it was. My peach smoothie came in this cute little sealed cup with the branding on it. I love a business that doesn’t skip on the branding! I enjoyed my experience here 100% and I’m even thinking of returning tomorrow morning for breakfast! One thing I would improve: I hope the owners consider advertising that they sell breakfast as well. Folks like me that may not be coffee drinkers but who love breakfast will gladly patronize the business…if we know they sell more than coffee. Overall, this place earned my 5 stars.“

This place has not just coffee, but also REAL chai and REAL matcha from REAL ethical and sustainable sources. Need a snack? “I stopped by the location in Montgomery by chance a few weeks ago, and loved their coffee. Was so pleased to see we have our own location in Birmingham as well! I got the cold brew with macadamia milk, and it was great! The store is bright and airy, and the baristas are helpful, kind, and efficient. There is street parking nearby for visitors.

“Arrived appx 8:45a on a Sunday, no wait for a table and service was prompt. Coffee and breakfast came out quickly and was delicious! I had biscuits with chorizo gravy, roasted red peppers (not spicy) and fried eggs. Great job, Frothy Monkey!“

“I recently had gastric sleeve surgery and have had a terrible time trying to find stuff to drink that is calorie free and no artificial sweeteners. A friend suggested that I try the tropical tea. The croissants here are perfectly flaky, buttery, and freshly baked. The plain croissant had a crisp exterior with soft, airy layers inside, while the almond croissant (my free treat!) was rich, slightly sweet, and packed with crunchy almond goodness. Absolutely delicious!

The owner was warm and welcoming, and the free croissant was such a lovely gesture. It’s rare to find a bakery that cares so much about making customers happy!

“Stopped into Santos Coffee & Bar Uptown for a quick breakfast snack while attending a convention at the BJCC, and it was a nice little find. I grabbed the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant — it was good, warm, and hit the spot, though not the best I’ve had.

What really stood out, though, was the strawberry smoothie — excellent flavor, refreshing, and made just right. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area and need a quick boost.

Friendly staff, good vibe, and a convenient spot to escape the convention bustle for a few minutes. Solid 4 out of 5 stars from me — and I’d go back for that smoothie alone.“

“Locally owned, hole in the wall venue, friendly service, amazing breakfast! Highly recommend anyone in the area to stop by and visit at least once. The fried pork chop and egg breakfast is second to none. The western or meat lovers omelette is absolutely delicious! The French toast is not for the diabetic with its extremely flavorful cinnamon and powdered sugar topping. Another recommended breakfast choice is asking for grilled toast, you'll think me later!

When I went to pay for my coffee my card wouldn’t work (I later found out it had been locked for suspicious activity lol) and I tried everything else I had and was so embarrassed. The cashier kindly told me not to worry about it and I could still have my drink. I know it may not have meant much to them, but that free coffee meant a lot to me in that moment of chaos. ?“
