“If you like country/comfort food, then this place would be a great fit. Me and my wife went and she got fried chicken, which it was nice and juicy. And I got salmon patties, which I have never seen a restaurant have on their menu before, and they were excellent. Their fried okra was fantastic. Their rolls(and yes, they actually do throw the rolls to you)were very good, but the apple butter set it off. Their portions size was hugh even down to their drink sizes they brought our drinks out in a cup that reminds you of the size of a buba. The atmosphere reminds you of Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star is I wanted to try macaroni and fried potatoes, but I didn't have my plate when they came around and didn't again while we were there. Although you leave stuffed.“
“We came in for an early dinner, we hadn’t been here before. You must walk through their gift shop to get to the restaurant, the clerk kindly pointed us in the right direction. The waiter Shannon took good care of us and gave us several good recommendations. The salad bar (single trip) comes with some selections, the bowl is tiny so it feels a little gimmicky but it is nice to have a salad bar in these times. I had the captain’s platter as it’s baked, not fried but the fish was mushy. The scallops, shrimp and rice were all very good. The seafood pasta was also very good and the portions were huge, we brought the pasta home and made another meal out of it. It’s noisy and the seats aren’t very comfortable, it’s not set up to spend time and relax, it seems like they are trying to turn diners quickly. The prices were more reasonable than similar restaurants in the area.Parking: Plenty of parking.“
“No place on the eastern shore of Mobile has a better price point for a white fish basket. Fish, fried to perfection, French fries, okra and cole slaw along with a couple of hush puppies. The portion size is enough to feed two people. The taste always draws me back for a last meal before heading back to the Northcoast for the summer. Nothing fancy, just good and plentiful food at a great price.“
“Bowling Alley was a Greta way to spend some vacation time with the family. Price was a little steep: 46 bucks per hour. However, my family enjoyed it. The lanes were nice and clean. If the per hour charge was less, I'd come WAY more often.“
“I’ve been once for lunch and got the buffet. My husband and I went for dinner and ordered from the menu. The food is excellent home cooked southern cuisine. The fried chicken is beyond delicious and their side dishes are perfect. The staff is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The place has a cafe atmosphere. It’s rather small and at lunch can be crowded but that’s because the food is so dang good! It’s worth the trip from Gulf Shores to eat there.“
“Everything was really good. Our server, Noah, was an absolute delight. He got our order right, and we did without nothing. Very attentive. The food was wonderful and was prepared quickly. Great place to grab lunch if you need to get in and out quickly. The specials are very cost effective as well.“
“A new facility that was greatly wanted and needed. The personnel did a wonderful job and the food was hot, fresh, and delicious without taking a long time to make. Highly recommendthis particular Captain D's.Parking: Numerous spaces.Wheelchair accessibility: excellent“
“The food was delicious as expected and the service was exceptional. Heather was so friendly and professional. She anticipated our needs and was so pleasant. I love Shrimp Basket but Heather will be the reason I will return to the one in Foley.“
