“My granddaughter and I recently dined at Chuck’s Fish to celebrate her graduation. The food, drinks and atmosphere were excellent. We had kimchi Brussels, uptown shrimp, and a delicious sushi roll. Then we really did it up big with the white chocolate bread pudding. The staff went above and beyond. Very friendly and attentive. Can’t say enough about how delicious the meal was. One of the owners came to our table and checked on us to make sure we were being taken care of, which we were. I would highly, highly recommend this place!!!”

“We've dined at the Dauphin's a few times before during previous visits to Mobile, AL and always enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit during Memorial Day weekend was a bit of a letdown. While the service was okay, the food left much to be desired. The main issue was the white fish of the day limon style, which was overcooked ~ extremely dry and hard with a side of overcooked, slimey asparagus. This was quite disappointing, especially since it's a dish I've enjoyed here in the past. However, the rest of the items we ordered were pretty good, maintaining the quality I've come to expect. I have to add that portions are above average size so if you're looking to try dessert, you may want to skip appetizers. One consistent highlight is the view from the 34th floor, which is simply amazing and adds a wonderful ambiance to the dining experience, especially during sunset. The cocktail with thyme is also great. Overall, this visit was not as impressive as previous ones, but I hope it was just an off night for the kitchen. We may give it another chance due to the beautiful setting and the generally good food we've had in the past. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I'd only be able to give it 3 stars.”

They have sides and accoutrements but that steak is a flavor experience all its own.”

Not knocking anyone else customer service, but I love a good almost aggressively-friendly, polite, professional, quick, customer - oriented front line worker. I'm a hotel manager. Had a long, rough day, feeling like I shouldnt be so friendly, because I always have to be so serious and deal with people when they're at they're worst most days, especially lately. I walked in Dodges, didnt speak because I didnt want to, I was in my feelings, but Houston greets you from the door - loud but friendly as heck. I was so pleased. Was attentive to everyone ahead of me. He moves like he's on his 3rd of 4 Red bulls, with the quick thinking and efficiency with a smile and commanding friendliness that I need to go find again in myself. I was so impressed that I had to tell him that he's so friendly, don't EVER change that. I pray life doesn't life the way it does to force him to change from being a ray of sunshine in somebodies dark night. Stay that way, Houston. Give that man a raise of at minimum $5 more dollars PER hour. He deserves it. I'll be back at night just for some kindess when its needed. Or when I want a crispito and an egg roll. :)”

The 2 young guys working were friendly, outgoing and truly a joy to talk with. staff was awesome. We had made tried the sausage they used before and they gave us a sample, as well as the soups and oh my gosh, they were divine. If we had more room or lived locally, we would have taken a quart or two of either one of the soups: today there was a taco soup and a beef noodle one. I highly recommend either one. Everything was fresh, serving sizes were adequate and prices were fair. If you are in the area, check it out; you won't be disappointed.”

“Drive from Bay Springs MS to Mobile for supper last night. Found the restaurant through an internet sesrch, with no prior knowledge. Walked in, was seated immediately. The waitress was very pleasant and took our order and brought our drinks immediately. Bread and salad was out quickly, when that was finished, the main course was there. All very efficient and quick. The wife got a ribeye, medium well, it was grilled to perfection with a good smoky flavor I had fried shrimp, onion rings and sweet potato casserole. They came with cocktail, tartar and comeback sauces. Shrimp were fried to perfection and I think this may have been the best onion rings I’ve ever had. Generous portions. And when we got our bill, it did not break the bsnk. Very reasonable. Would not hesitate to go back or to recommend this place to anyone. Great experience.”

He even made sure I liked my drink before I walked away from the counter. I got my toddler a strawberry banana smoothie and a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant… he inhaled both. I got a sugar free coconut/sugar free salted caramel iced coffee that was great; not too sweet, not too bitter. We utilized the outdoor seating area, which was gated, so it was great to let my toddler “be a toddler,” without disturbing others. The only thing that would have made it better would be canopies or shade over the outdoor seating area. We will be back!”

Mother ordered the fried shrimp. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak wraps as an appetizer. For our sides, we had the sweet potato casserole, onion rings and loaded mashed potatoes. When I tell you every one of us cleaned our entire plates… oh my word! The steaks were SO tender as well as cooked and seasoned to perfection. Even mother’s shrimp was wonderful! If you love REAL southern sweet potato casserole, just get it! I xouodve had an wntire biwl of that alone! The strawberry, feta and walnut salad was insanely good! I didn’t have to ask for extra dressing! The onion rings were perfectly breaded and were huge. The mashed potatoes were REAL potatoes, loaded down with all the yummy fixings. We even ordered dessert because the food was so delicious! Turtle brownie and the strawberry cheesecake… my Lord! Every bite was incredible and I promise we will be back. Actual short ribs had good flavor, but polenta was mixed with the gravy from the shortrib in an iron skillet and polenta was basically swimming in liquid gravy. Broccolinni was severely undercooked, not soft at all. Atmosphere is nice as the restaurant is in the Renaissance hotel. Went here to celebrate anniversary with my wife, and Hannah our server wasn't very good. 0 drink suggestions, 0 food suggestions, never offered dessert, we had to ask for it. It was obvious she didn't want to be there. She was more interested in doing her closing side work instead of being attentive. We expected a better experience for our anniversary dinner. We probably wouldn't ever return and I definitely wouldn't recommend. There are restaurants in the area with better food and more attentive service.”

“We've dined at the Dauphin's a few times before during previous visits to Mobile, AL and always enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit during Memorial Day weekend was a bit of a letdown. While the service was okay, the food left much to be desired. The main issue was the white fish of the day limon style, which was overcooked ~ extremely dry and hard with a side of overcooked, slimey asparagus. This was quite disappointing, especially since it's a dish I've enjoyed here in the past. However, the rest of the items we ordered were pretty good, maintaining the quality I've come to expect. I have to add that portions are above average size so if you're looking to try dessert, you may want to skip appetizers. One consistent highlight is the view from the 34th floor, which is simply amazing and adds a wonderful ambiance to the dining experience, especially during sunset. The cocktail with thyme is also great. Overall, this visit was not as impressive as previous ones, but I hope it was just an off night for the kitchen. We may give it another chance due to the beautiful setting and the generally good food we've had in the past. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I'd only be able to give it 3 stars.”
