“This is one of my favorite places in the world! Top 3 by far. This visit was the first time I had dinner there in person. Every other time, I ordered takeout.
I can, without a doubt, say that their Ramen and Rolls are the best in the Entire Phoenix-Metro area. It is a perfect 10 in my eyes. It is as close to what I have had in Osaka Japan, and you can't get any closer than that.
Please visit this place and show them some love.
PS. I still need them to open a Daruma on the Northwest side of town. That thing would go nuts.“

“Fantastic food, fast service, and friendly staff. Very affordable.
I ordered the orange chicken over white rice. Regular size.
So good!!! Seriously might have been my favorite orange chicken I have had now. Very crispy and A LOT of extra sauce for the rice. Fresh orange on top with some peel in the sauce. Loved it!
Usually there isn't enough sauce and you end up getting dry rice; not the case here. There was PLENTY. Ended up going back a second time and getting takeout in under a week. Simply amazing. Great for a fast lunch or an easy dinner. Highly recommend!“

“Located inside the Asiana Market's food court. Excellent hidden gem for authentic Japanese staples. The ingredients are always fresh and the dishes have a homemade quality to them. Not to mention, the portion sizes are quite generous for the price, especially for today's standards. I recommend supporting this business and giving them a try.“

“Surprisingly pleased with this place. We moved to NE Mesa from Gilbert and didn’t have any luck finding a good sushi place. We went there for the first time tonight and were impressed with food, service, and price. It looks like they have a good happy hour as well so we will try that next time.“

“Unmatched Sushi Experience at House Modern Sushi in Mesa! Review: My family and I recently had the pleasure of dining at House Modern Sushi, located conveniently next to the AMC theater in Mesa, and I must say, it was an absolutely phenomenal experience! Right from the start, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the interior and the warm welcome we received, which set a fantastic tone for the evening. The service at House Modern Sushi is genuinely outstanding. It's clear that this family-owned business puts a lot of heart into their service, ensuring every customer feels valued and well-cared for. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor made our dining experience even more special. Now, onto the main event - the sushi! Every single item we ordered was nothing short of incredible. The sushi rolls were fresh, expertly crafted, and presented beautifully. What really stood out was the generous portion size, which is a great value for the price. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, clearly highlighting the quality of the ingredients used. Comparatively, House Modern Sushi easily surpasses other local spots like RAW and Broker Sushi. There's just something about the way they prepare their dishes that makes their sushi stand out in a league of its own. Without a doubt, House Modern Sushi has become our new go-to place for sushi in Mesa. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or just looking for a delightful dining experience, I highly recommend visiting House Modern Sushi. It's more than just a meal; it's an experience that you'll want to return to time and again!“

“Under New Management, but essentially it's the same place. You check of what you want on the menu and they bring it to you, and you repeat the process until you're done. There's plenty of options of various Japanese dishes ranging from Udon soup to Yakitori and maki rolls. They have a pretty large selection of specialty rolls as well. On a very rare occasion they may forget a dish or bring out a dish you didn't order, but the staff are very polite. Overall, I highly recommend them. I think you'll have a good time.“

“The food is absolutely delicious. But for some reason, I just can't get over the smell In there. It sort of smells like when you're washing dishes or the water sits there with a mixture of sewage. I don't know. So when I ate the food, I kind of felt like I tasted that rank water in the veggies that were steamed and food. If that smell was gone it be so perfect. The shredded beef is great and white meat chicken.“

“Great food, generous portions at a very fair price
Looking for a good place to eat at McDowell and Power Road in East Mesa, not as big and prominent as a couple of the other big name restaurants there but probably just as good or better. And less crowded, so don't overlook Got Sushi, as they have regular Asian meals besides sushi.“

“We had Makenna as our server tonight at RA in Mesa AZ at Dana Park, at 4:30pm on 10/03/2025. WOW!!! Incredible server with great knowledge of the menu and the food and offered awesome suggestions. She was very personable and attentive. It was such a delight to eat out and have a server that actually likes their job. Thank you so much Makenna for your smiles and joyful nature. To the GM: Makenna deserves a raise and a promotion. We will definitely be requesting her next time we are in.“

“It's hard to be left dissatisfied by a buffet. All you can eat for one reasonable price? How can I refuse?
Hibachi offers a decent variety of dishes sectioned between appetizers, entrees, desserts, salads/produce, and sushi. You can find popular and straightforward options like kung pao chicken and fried rice to more particular tastes like octopus to bog-standard American junk food fare like french fries for anyone especially picky.
Hot soups are on offer, and the sushi bar includes both sashimi and rolls. Servers offer fortune cookies, and ice cream comes in single-serving containers. Though many foods appear to be made on-location, some options like the cookies are obviously packaged and store-bought.
I got about four plates of food before admitting defeat, and everything I had ranged from okay to great. Anything I didn't like was due to my personal taste rather than because it was poorly made. I appreciated that the sushi was bite-sized, which oddly enough is not the standard for many other nearby sushi offerings.
My server passed my table multiple times without offering to refill empty glasses, but she did always take empty plates instead of letting them pile. Said plates were made out of paper, and I could swear that wasn't the case the last time I came here.
While nothing spectacular, it is still a lot of good food for one flat price, and that makes it a favored spot for special occasions when I just want to eat until I drop.“

“Amazing sushi and Japanese Izakaya fare (yakitori, curry etc). They often import fish from Japan, so be sure to ask about what's special that night!“
