“This is one of my favorite places in the world! Top 3 by far. This visit was the first time I had dinner there in person. Every other time, I ordered takeout.
I can, without a doubt, say that their Ramen and Rolls are the best in the Entire Phoenix-Metro area. It is a perfect 10 in my eyes. It is as close to what I have had in Osaka Japan, and you can't get any closer than that.
Please visit this place and show them some love.
PS. I still need them to open a Daruma on the Northwest side of town. That thing would go nuts.“

“We enjoyed a nice lunch and great conversation with dear friends who will be moving out of state soon. This was their recommendation for lunch, and I must say it was a good choice. The California and Philly rolls were very tasty from my perspective. Everyone had something different to eat, and everyone enjoyed their choices as well.
The shop is small and seating is basic, but when your out with good friends, enjoying your food, it makes no difference one way or the other. We definitely enjoyed our visit.“

“Omatase is one of my favorite restaurants in the East Valley and one of the best Japanese spots in Phoenix in my opinion. If they were closer to where I live, I’d eat here everyday. Lol. The food is so fresh and as close as it gets to what we had in Japan.
It's a mom and pop restaurant located inside the food court at Asiana Market in Mesa. You order at the counter and they call your number on the receipt when your food is ready.
l've been here several times with my hubby and the owner and cashier were always nice and friendly and the food has been consistently delicious every visit. Some of the dishes we tried include their Spicy Charsiu Tokotsu Ramen (one of our faves that we always order), Gardena Maki Roll with tempura shrimp, imitation crab, spicy tuna, avocado, cucumber, tempura flakes and eel sauce (my favorite that I always order), Torrance Maki with shrimp tempura, crab meat, cucumber, avocado, ebi shrimp, avocado, spicy mayo sauce & eel sauce (another favorite) Spicy Tuna Roll, Hawaii Donburi with Poke, Kobe Donburi with Assorted Sashimi, Omiya Donburi with Unagi, Chicken Katsu Curry, and Oyster Katsu Curry.“

“Stumbled into Sekai Sushi for lunch and honestly did NOT expect to be this impressed.
We ordered the Large Spicy Tuna Nigiri Combo and the Spicy Jungle Roll — and y'all, for under $43 for TWO people including tip, this place is an absolute steal.
The nigiri combo came with a beautiful spread — tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, and what looked like a spicy scallop — all lined up and looking like they were pulled straight from the ocean that morning. Fresh is an understatement. The fish was clean, buttery, and had zero fishiness. That tuna nigiri alone was sending me.
The Spicy Jungle Roll was the showstopper though — topped with fresh cilantro, scallions, a rich savory sauce drizzled all over it, and perfectly balanced heat. It looked almost too pretty to eat. Almost.
Casual spot, no fuss, and the food does all the talking. If you're in the Mesa area and need a solid sushi lunch that won't wreck your wallet, Sekai is it. Will absolutely be back. 🍣“

“Unmatched Sushi Experience at House Modern Sushi in Mesa! Review: My family and I recently had the pleasure of dining at House Modern Sushi, located conveniently next to the AMC theater in Mesa, and I must say, it was an absolutely phenomenal experience! Right from the start, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the interior and the warm welcome we received, which set a fantastic tone for the evening. The service at House Modern Sushi is genuinely outstanding. It's clear that this family-owned business puts a lot of heart into their service, ensuring every customer feels valued and well-cared for. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor made our dining experience even more special. Now, onto the main event - the sushi! Every single item we ordered was nothing short of incredible. The sushi rolls were fresh, expertly crafted, and presented beautifully. What really stood out was the generous portion size, which is a great value for the price. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, clearly highlighting the quality of the ingredients used. Comparatively, House Modern Sushi easily surpasses other local spots like RAW and Broker Sushi. There's just something about the way they prepare their dishes that makes their sushi stand out in a league of its own. Without a doubt, House Modern Sushi has become our new go-to place for sushi in Mesa. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or just looking for a delightful dining experience, I highly recommend visiting House Modern Sushi. It's more than just a meal; it's an experience that you'll want to return to time and again!“

“I absolutely love this place! Their deals are incredible, making it easy to grab multiple plates without breaking the bank. The teriyaki chicken is easily the best I’ve ever had—it’s the bomb!Honestly, I’m so obsessed that I regularly drive an hour just to get my fix. Please consider opening a location in North Peoria! We need you out there!“

“Under New Management, but essentially it's the same place. You check of what you want on the menu and they bring it to you, and you repeat the process until you're done. There's plenty of options of various Japanese dishes ranging from Udon soup to Yakitori and maki rolls. They have a pretty large selection of specialty rolls as well. On a very rare occasion they may forget a dish or bring out a dish you didn't order, but the staff are very polite. Overall, I highly recommend them. I think you'll have a good time.“

“The food is absolutely delicious. But for some reason, I just can't get over the smell In there. It sort of smells like when you're washing dishes or the water sits there with a mixture of sewage. I don't know. So when I ate the food, I kind of felt like I tasted that rank water in the veggies that were steamed and food. If that smell was gone it be so perfect. The shredded beef is great and white meat chicken.“

“This local spot is great - they have sushi but also offer a menu of other items as well. We often get sushi, but typically also order a couple enters like yakisoba or orange chicken. We’ve had Got Sushi in house, but we also often order and pick it up. There’s usually little to no wait for a table and the service is pretty quick. The portion sizes are big without being completely outrageous.“

“We had Makenna as our server tonight at RA in Mesa AZ at Dana Park, at 4:30pm on 10/03/2025. WOW!!! Incredible server with great knowledge of the menu and the food and offered awesome suggestions. She was very personable and attentive. It was such a delight to eat out and have a server that actually likes their job. Thank you so much Makenna for your smiles and joyful nature. To the GM: Makenna deserves a raise and a promotion. We will definitely be requesting her next time we are in.“

“Sushi isn't very good but their chicken options are. UPDATE. Went there recently like a few weeks ago. I was looking it up to plan a trip back. The food was all very good and the quality of the Sushi was also very good. Sushi from other places messes me up but I risked it and this was pretty good(I probably have undiagnosed allergies but this place gave me no major issues). The ingredients seems more real and fresh vs the fake and packaged stuff. The chicken and Won Tons were great. I hope we can go back durring Lunch since we don't eat Crab or the steak really.“

“Amazing sushi and Japanese Izakaya fare (yakitori, curry etc). They often import fish from Japan, so be sure to ask about what's special that night!“
