“No frills. Friendly employees, quick service, and a solid sandwich at a reasonable price. I had the egg salad on grain bread. Ample portion of homemade egg salad on fresh bread. The place is a little small so be prepared to sit outside. It was my first time but I liked this place and will go back.“

“Ate here Monday with my sister and Dad and had such a great experience! For an avid sourdough lover their bread was the perfect combination of warmth, flakey-ness and flavor. The taller gentleman who helped was so friendly and had over the top customer service! I would 100/10 recommend and will be back + ordering for my next in office meeting.“

“Been going here for awhile. The food is consistent, lots of ordering options and prices are fair for what you get.
The ordering process is frustrating at times. The self-serve kiosks are not very user friendly and the payment options usually have a glitch (i.e. chip reader not working, tap-n-go not available, mag strip reader usually requires multiple swipes), pick up your drink cup at front counter after ordering ...the front registers are usually or at least often, vacant, so there's that.
The crowd that often times seems to frequent the place usually has a drink, seldom food, and they "camp out" with their WiFi device (i.e. videos, e-mails, remote work) which makes for a not so quiet break for anyone near them. So there's that.
If you're looking for a "lunch break" and quiet distraction from your day while you grab a bite and drink, maybe look elsewhere.

“Very nice store, but do you have to have the kuntry musac so blaring loud? The employees have rock music playing the back, but we're having this blaring country junk rammed down our throats Employees seem to think it's a big joke and refuse to turn it down. May not even return again, howboutdat?“

“On my way home and it's 11: 15pm on a weekday. Had to stay late to do some P2V migrations on my company's old garbage infrastructure. As I sit at the Indian school off-ramp, I consider my options for a meal this late at night. There's Whataburger down off of Thomas and Scottsdale, there's the worst McDonald's in the state at Indian School and Hayden, and there's not really much else. Wait! That's right! Silver mine subs at granite reef is open until midnight! They also have the very best sandwiches within 15 mi of where I'm sitting right now. The only sandwich I would prefer over silver mine is Cheba Hut. But cheba hut's not open till midnight and there's no location in Scottsdale. Silver mine takes your order the second you walk in the door, and before you finished paying for it, it's already halfway down the counter. This place is so damn good that it breaks my heart it's the only one. If there was another location, it would be the first thing I would consider the next time I need to move. It's that good. If you go to silver mine and you don't enjoy your sandwich, the problem is you, I guarantee it.“

“I started at a different location, closer to the church, to get sub trays for my daughters funeral. That location just flat out would not accommodate my schedule. These wonderful ladies at the Hayden location are jumping through hoops to meet my needs.“

“So my daughter and I had spent the whole day running around and all she wanted was a prezel but they were out so she asked for pizza of that too. Everyone was out shopping for school supplies so the guys saw how bummed she was and offered to make her a pizza sandwich and she was so excited. She said it was good and was happy it totally made her day and that is all that matters thanks guys!! You rock😁“

“I love eating here. They deliver to our job site and you can pay online or via text. The food is amazing, tastes great, and keeps you full. We returned recently to our building after 16 months and I was very happy to see City Market Deli still supporting the community. Regardless of which food item you get, it will always be fresh, will have a good price, and will always taste great. I will always support the business over all other local diners and fast food joints. I highly recommend City Market Diner and the breakfast burrito!“

“Came in today, 10/08 around 2 PM. Staff working, a young woman and young man, were friendly and fast in getting us in and out, even with the toaster being down. On our way out, a man asked if we could buy him a sandwich and we thought “what the hey, it’s 7 bucks” and brought him in. The young woman working was with a customer at the register when random man approached and demanded he make her a sandwich. She directed him to the front of the line and said she would be with him shortly but he got kind of rude and said he would stay right where he was and she can make him a sandwich from there. The young man stepped in and said the same thing, that they would be with him shortly to which the random man pointed at the young woman saying “you need to listen to your coworker” and then turned to my boyfriend and I and tried to get us to side with him. We told him we didn’t see a problem with the situation and said they would be with him in just a moment. We still bought random man a sandwich because everyone has bad days and he needed the money more than we did. After we paid, the young woman ended up apologizing to the man and said she misunderstood what was going on to try and de-escalate things. Honestly girl, you didn’t do anything wrong and I know it took a lot of strength to apologize in that situation. These two deserve some comeuppance because I don’t know if I would have been so kind to him.“

“Just got done eating here and the woman who helped us had great customer service. She was very patient and attentive as soon as we walked in. The subs were really good with fresh ingredients. I had a vegetarian sub with the delicious cheddar and jalapeño bread.“
