“I came here for Japanese food and it's really good , I don't really have any complaints at all.
-The mango Tango roll was like so amazing they had more than enough toppings and the flavor was like nothing I have had before
-the takoyaki was pretty good , I loved how the outside had a crispy shell , encasing the gooey inside. It was a tad pricy for how much we got though.
-the cherry blossoms roll was pretty good I loved how tangy and sweet it was.
-The veggie udon was solid , noodles had good texture , soup could use more flavor.
- the wasabi mayo prawn was alright , the sauce only tasted sweet and there wasent enough flavor so I had trouble finishing it.

Service was good , I will probably come back especially for that mango Tango roll.“

There are not many places these days especially a locally owned business with a comfortable atmosphere and space where people can relax and catch up with others or their book/work. Running a cafe successfully isn't at all easy. Lots of behind the scenes sacrifice, work, stress, increasing costs of all materials.... The owners are always so generous if you notice they never hesitate to give customers take out containers/cups for free and this is just one example.

“Went here on a Friday night and the place was absolutely packed, families, couples, everyone happily slurping away. Even with the lineup, I only waited about 5 minutes, which felt like a small miracle.

The menu is HUGE, so honestly… do yourself a favour and scroll through some review photos before you go. I played it safe and ordered the beef noodle soup with shrimp wontons and asked for the spicy sauce on the side, because once you add it, there’s no going back 😅.

Portion was massive, flavour was amazing, and the soup came out lava hot, so don’t be a hero like me and try to dive in right away.

Also ordered tea, which goes perfectly with the soup and makes you feel like you’re making healthy choices even though you’re destroying a giant bowl of noodles.

Definitely coming back to try more dishes (and some drinks too!). Great spot!“

“The happy hour is after 9pm and it’s 25% off and bottomless drink for the drink of the day, such a good deal!! The combo is great and is a big portion. They servers are really nice and come around to add more broth all the time. You can also ask for chilli pepper to make the sauce more spicy. On a Friday night there was around a 30 minute wait on the waitlist to get in around 9pm.“

“I took my girlfriend here for a romantic date and I just wanted to say how welcoming and pleasant the whole experience was. I felt like I was the King and she was my Queen in this restaurant. We ordered two drinks which were very tasty, Blueberry Lemonade and a Cranberry mocktail. For appetizers we ordered a batch of pizza twists and a caprese salad. We loved the pizza twists so much we ordered a second batch! The whole time the staff kept checking in on us and asking how we were doing and if we needed anything. My girlfriend and I are strict vegetarians, but we also don't eat eggs, fish or gelatin. The staff was very helpful and accommodating with all of our needs and provided the best service. We knew what we were ordering and if it was made without eggs. We ordered the Capricciosa pizza and requested it be without the ham. The pizza was delicious, as I'm a mushroom and artichoke lover. Thanks La Forchetta staff for making this experience a great one! I'll be sure to recommend this place for others in the future!“

“We only discovered this brewery yesterday through a friend. We got to sample a testing and fell in love with all the selections. We checked out the actual Brewery today. What an amazing place, the feeling was warm, the staff was friendly. We purchased lots today. And we can’t wait to come back with friends and recommending it to friends. Great job ! “This is our goto restaurant in GVA in the past year since I found Toyo sushi.
This restaurant is managed, prepared and serviced all by Japanese.
I am a Japanese Canadian who travel to Japan several times a year and eat Edomae sushi in Higashi Ginza, Ginza, Tsukiji and Nihonbashi so I know what good sushi must be. Their menu is very well balanced with variety of authentic and good Japanese selections. Quality of dishes are just like a mid level Kappo washoku restaurants in Japan, which is hard to find in GVA since 90% of Japanese restaurants here are Korean or Chinese owned and prepared and serves fakes, dashi not preparedright, shari tastes off, neta all frozen limited to albacore and salmon etc (unfortunately most Canadians don’t know it).
My favourites in the past 30 years in GVA were, Chiyoda, Aki, Naniwaya, Yoshokuya, Zest, Shimaya, (Happa and Kingyo also good), and Koko, but they unfortunately all closed. (Yoshida who took over Shimaya was terrible) so this is my choice place now!“

Greeted by a warm, friendly hostess/wait staff, we were seated quickly for lunch.

For two people, we ordered: two unagi nigiri, the ethical salmon with tobiko roll, a spicy scallop solo, and two salmon nigiri.

First—the sushi rice. It was cooked perfectly, with beautiful, distinct pearls and delicate seasoning.
The unagi was lightly torched, giving it a gentle smoky flavour. I loved that it didn’t rely on a heavy sauce; the seasoning enhanced it beautifully. It might be the best unagi I’ve ever had!

The ethical salmon roll had thinly sliced scallions and just a touch of chili powder. The delicate flavours brought out the freshness of the salmon and tobiko. The scallops were incredibly fresh and seasoned just right—no overwhelming heat, no heavy sauce. Truly the best scallop sushi!

The salmon nigiri was brilliant. The fish was so fresh it practically melted in your mouth.

Do yourself a favour and don’t drown anything in soy sauce—the sushi is made so perfectly that you really don’t need any.

Everything was so good that my friend and I ended up ordering two more salmon nigiri, two more unagi nigiri, and another scallop roll.

“We went last week for my sisters birthday and even though it was crazy busy our server kylie was super friendly,patient and quick!! The one caution I have is that for their noodle dishes like vermicelli and noodle soup, is that they fill the bottom of the bowl with bean sprouts so you get less noodles and make it look like it's bigger than it is.“

“Just had a coffee in Presso Cafe (used to be Waves Coffee). Still early days as owner was also behind the counter, helping out. It has a warmer atmosphere than Waves and there seems to be a wider range of eatable items.

“This place has amazingly fresh fish. I always get the deluxe chirashi and it never disappoints. The fact that it’s a little out of the way also means that I never have to fight a crowd to eat here. The inside of the restaurant reminds me of Japanese izakayas, and the Star Wars figurines at the counter add a little whimsy to the decor too. This is quite possibly the best sushi/sashimi you can find in this price range in the Pacific Northwest.“

“An interesting option if you’re looking for something different. All of the staff were Japanese (or so it seemed) and the atmosphere was cozy. They had all of the standard sushi options as well as their take on Japanese-style pasta.

Regarding the pasta, the spaghetti alla vongole was served with linguine so that’s as much as I’ll say about that. If you can read between the lines then you’ll know what I mean; otherwise, I truly think you won’t be disappointed as the portion is a good size and they provide a generous serving of clams.

I liked the service and the presentation of everything. There were people of all walks and the restaurant was fairly busy on a weekday evening.

“Don't let the lines fool you, it's always long because comparatively speaking the place isn't that big. They even serve you miso soup and hot water while you wait outside. But given its location and the lack of any other solid ramen options (if we're excluding the Brentwood area), this is probably the best place to get a solid bowl of ramen by Metrotown.

They are quite creative in their appetizer department though. The Chicken Nanban is delicious, in particular the tartar sauce. This goes for their Gyoza with the lovely grated Yuzu topping. It's unique and helps cut out some of the umami from the broth. Texture wise, it's quite consistent with any other Gyoza or Chicken Karrage dishes you order at other ramen places. Don't sleep on their desserts, whether its the matcha ones or the ice cream, it's worth finishing up your dinner with something sweet and unique.

Just like Ramen Danbo, you can customize your ramen to your liking, broth, lard, charsiu style, and noodles. Service is quite fair but just be aware that your entire party has to be present to be seated. I think its worth up sizing for the extra $1 for like 50g of more food, but if you're ordering a bunch of appies then you might want to stick with the small size.“
