“I had one of the best mool naeng myun I have ever had in the Vancouver area at Cafe SoBahn. It did not have a meat slice, but who cares. The broth was close to perfection. Usually I drown the broth in vinegar and mustard, but not here.
The sign for the restaurant has a very hard to read font, very thin on a white background so it's easy to miss. I missed it. It is definitely more of a cafe than a restaurant, but boy that naeng myun was unbelievable“

“This Korean BBQ spot is absolutely one of my favs in Lougheed. The pork and beef bbq and also side dishes were as flavorful as they were plentiful. The bibimbap was super comforting and the soups were rich.
The store was quite busy but very welcoming with the staff.“

“I don’t often write reviews (I think I have 4 on my profile?) but in my opinion, this justifies a strong review.
Weekend craving for fried chicken hits, and the reviews looked good, 10 minute drive, so decided to try it out.
In short: SO good.
The pork belly bao was unnnnnnnreal, the soy garlic chicken was super tasty and the spicy chicken was solid.
Small location, seems like a family business (maybe mother and daughter?) who were both very friendly when I picked up the food and the food was ready in 10 minutes like they said.
Definitely coming back ?“

“ManRiJangSeong in Coquitlam offers authentic Korean-Chinese fusion cuisine in a cozy, family-friendly setting. Their signature dishes, including jjajangmyun, jjampong, and gganpoonggi, are prepared with care and bursting with flavor. The jjajangmyun features a savory black bean sauce with generous portions of meat and vegetables, while the jjampong boasts a spicy seafood broth filled with shrimp and mussels. The gganpoonggi offers crispy chicken coated in a sweet and tangy sauce with a hint of pineapple. Portions are generous, ensuring a satisfying meal for all. The friendly and attentive staff enhance the dining experience, making it a must-visit for Korean cuisine enthusiasts. Sorry for the pictures of half eaten dishes because they were too good to resist.“

“I was pleasantly surprised with my experience here.
I was in the area for a ride when I saw this restaurant was open, and decided to pop by for some food. The portions were great for the price and everything tasted amazing!
I ordered their signature clam bibimbap and their deep fried squid and fries. I wasn't too sure how I'd like the bibimbap (because honestly clams are overrated), but I really enjoyed the flavours here. It was even more elevated if you wrap it in seaweed with some side dishes. The squid was perfect as well, and the fries were crispy without being overcooked.
If you have a chance to visit and are craving some Korean cuisine, I would definitely stop by here.“

“Pretty good value and pretty ok food. I like their original Katsu, reminds me of home cooked Katsu which isn’t easy to make without making a mess. I will try their other menus as well. Last of all, good service by aunty. If you come to Henderson mall food court and feeling hungry, try Tokki for k food.
Parking: Easy to park at the mall unless rush hours.“

“I ordered seafood soup and I was absolutely blown away by how rich the broth was and the quantity and quality of seafood that was included. Tons of octopus, clams, shrimp and a huge mussel! The soup also had cabbage, carrots and pieces of delicious, rich garlic. I was very impressed. If I come back to Henderson mall, I will come here again!“

“Food is close to how their sit down restaurant is. No Kimchi served with the meal which was a bummer. But there was radish and macaroni salad sides. Their tofu in there soup is soft and tasty.Self order on their screen. No cash option.Would recommend“

“Came in for Father's Day dinner. Luckily we made reservations early, there was a lineup when we left.
I ordered the soft tofu stew but got it without meat since I'm recovering from a surgery which they were able to accommodate me. They even came back to ask if I was okay with the egg and I said I am. Everyone in our group was happy with their food.“

“What a fantastic spot! The food was delicious, especially the chicken, it was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The $50 deal was a great value. We even had plenty of leftovers, and they were just as tasty the next day. A great place for a fun meal and generous portions!“

“A week ago Tuesday, while living in Canada, I was craving Korean food, so I decided to visit after receiving a recommendation from an acquaintance who said this was a good restaurant. Having been disappointed at other restaurants, I was worried when I saw some of the low reviews about this place, but I still went there to try Korean food. I have a picky appetite and a sensitive personality, so I went into the restaurant with the thought of what would happen if I came in a bad mood.
However, as a result, the service was satisfactory and the food tasted good, to the point where the low reviews and concerns about the taste of the food were for naught. The seasoning was just right for my taste and it seemed to be in good hygiene condition. It was nice to be able to taste the familiar taste of food from another country. Accordingly, I ate it while being thankful for the chefs' hard work.
Next, let me tell you what I felt about the service. Basically, the servers were friendly, and the greetings when entering were appropriate and not excessive, so I didn't feel burdened. In particular, thanks to the bright energy and smile of the young female server with bright hair, I was able to have a positive influence and enjoy the meal. They are people who feel burdened if you talk to them too much, so it was nice that they kept it within the appropriate range. Looking at other reviews, I noticed that kindness is fundamental. I think the kindness of the server made the food taste better.
It was unfortunate that the music was loud and uncomfortable, perhaps because I was older, but it wasn't that uncomfortable.
Honestly, after visiting, I didn't really understand the criticism about the low reviews. I don't think it's right to cause damage to the store by leaving a review out of malicious intent or your own sensitivity. People like me who come only after reading reviews may not be able to experience such a wonderful and wonderful restaurant. Of course, no lady or gentleman writes a review with that intention, but this is the service I felt today. Even on my return visit on Thursday, the service remained the same. So, I thought I should post about this house, even though I know the reviews. We ask for unchanging service.
The above was an honest review by a retired uncle and ajumma who studied food in Korea and lived as food critics.“

“A really cool place to drink!!! Personally, I highly recommend bone haejangguk, budae stew, and buljokbal!!! This place in Vancouver is the closest to the bone haejangguk you eat in Korea!!! The owner is very kind and highly recommended!!! See you more often^^“
“I think a lot of other reviewers have echoed that meat quality is great and I can confirm it is true. I visited with a party of 4 people and we ordered the Gooi-ga Special. We were prepared to order more but it was enough for us.
The BBQ set came with a variety of meat and seafood and the tofu soup was delicious. They do not have a lot of seating so you are at the mercy of luck if you don't reserve a seat or get on the waitlist. I would definitely come back here with friends again! The only reason for the 4 star is the lack of seating and unpredictability of getting in or waiting.“

“We came around 2.30pm on Sunday and there were no other guests. The restaurant is old but very clean and tidy. The waitress was nice & efficient. They don't have a physical menu anymore, you will need to scan the QR and order. Food is not bad. We had bulgogi, potato pancakes and grilled pork sausage. Plenty of parking spots.“

“I don't understand why the rating is low.
The crispiness and doneness of the sweet and sour pork were the best, and the soybean paste tasted 100% the same as what you get in Korea. I've been to other popular Chinese restaurants around here, but bbong is the best!
I don’t understand why the ratings are so low. The crispiness and cooking of the tangsuyuk were perfect, and the ganjjajang tasted exactly like the ones in Korea. I've tried other popular Chinese restaurants in the area, but Bbong Restaurant is the best!“

“We ordered the Ra Jo Yuk Gourmet Dish (spicy pork with mixed vegetables), which was not what I meant to order—I had my heart set on the spicy hot and sour version, but hey, at least I tried something new. Alongside that, we got a half seafood noodle and half Ja Jang Mian, plus a stir fried rice.
This is definitely what I would call home style Korean Chinese cooking. If you are used to places like Chiu Hong in Surrey, where flavours are bold, sweet, salty and aggressive in the best way, this is much more gentle. The Ja Jang Mian here is less sweet. The pork sauce has less salt, sugar and ginger. The seafood noodle is also much milder in spice.
At first, my taste buds were like “huh?” expecting more punch. But then my rational side kicked in and said, this is like going to your Korean friend’s house and having their grandma make you a meal. It is warm, balanced and does not leave you chugging water for hours afterward. That is worth something.
As for the banchan—it is very modest. Just yellow daikon and raw onions with hoisin sauce. I could not help but laugh a little. It feels honest, like the kitchen is just saying, “Here’s a little crunch to keep you company.”
So even though the flavours are not as intense as I usually go for, I appreciate the clean and home cooked feel. For that, I am giving it 4 stars. It is a comforting, simple spot that feels like it came from a family kitchen.“

“A neat Korean restaurant located at Henderson Mall. Their food is good and they don't mark up their prices for UberEats or DoorDash, which makes them a solid choice for delivery orders. The benefit of dining in is that their side dishes are complimentary, whereas it's not for takeout/delivery.“

“Great spot for Korean food! The cold noodles were the highlight—probably the best I’ve had in the Lower Mainland. The spicy pork bibimbap was solid, and my wife rated the Gam Ja Tang 4/5. Side dishes were simple but tasty. We arrived around 7:30pm on a Friday and only had a short wait.“

“Stopped by Chicko Chicken after the gym with the fellas and got a full Yangnyeom chicken with fries. The food was great—crispy and flavorful. We did have to wait quite a while, and a few people who ordered after us got their food first, which was a bit annoying. Next time, I’ll probably call ahead and order for pickup to save time.“

“Service is really good. Highly recommended. The meat in barbecue combo is nice- tender and tasty, especially the marinated pork and beef, though the portion can be more.
Tofu kimchi soup and the vegetable salad that came along with the barbecue combo were really good!
The portion of small Gamjatang is generous, though I feel the taste is average.
Overall a nice experience!“
