“We 100% love this place! We came unexpectedly to John B’s for a bite to eat while running an errand in Coquitlam, and we are both SO happy with the food and the quality of service we received that I had to write a review.
We lucked out with the Valentine’s Day special SURF AND TURF for $125!!! We originally just came for a happy hour bite. There was another server who first attended us (forgive me, I didn’t catch her name), and she was AMAZING as well!
Jennifer took over our table and made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. She shared personal experiences about the menu, which we loved. After placing our order, we requested our steaks Chicago rare and rare. When they came out, they were unfortunately more well done than we asked for. As much as we hate complaining, we had to mention it. Jennifer handled it with such grace and immediately sent them back. Within 10 minutes, our steaks were returned cooked exactly the way we love them.
About 30 minutes later, Adam (the manager) came by to personally apologize for the mishap. With total professionalism and kindness, he said the words every customer loves to hear: “How can I make this better for you guys?”
We weren’t expecting anything at all, but he offered us a half lobster of course we took it!

“Overall a great place, however they allow smoking on the patio right next to a door and sitting at the bar you get the horrible stench of tobacco every time the door to the patio opens. Really should not allow smoking on the premises.“

“I might very been able to rate higher but unfortunately when I was there they had recently had an issue with a freezer so many items were not available to eat but for what was there it was good. Service was good and atmosphere was also pretty good“

“Comfortable seating, a fun live band on Saturday nights, and a dance floor that makes the whole place feel lively and exciting. The vibe is great, and I always have a good time here. For drinks, it’s usually quicker to head to the bar since servers can take a bit to come back, but honestly, it doesn’t take away from the experience. I really enjoy coming here and would definitely keep coming back!“

“Went to Browns SocialHouse for dinner the other night and it did not disappoint! I had shredded lettuce wraps on rice and it was made to perfection. The Caesar I ordered was also delicious. The beef dip was really tasty, it came out piping hot and was seasoned so nicely. The staff were great. Very friendly and knowledgeable.“

“I’m extremely impressed with the renovations. They’ve done with that place. It looks absolutely amazing. Classy and upscale. Great menu options and extremely affordable prices. “I hadn't been in 4 months until this weekend and it looks like they recently had some staff turnover, but it's all good. I look forward to meeting the new staff. Weekend brunch was decent for bar food. It's a good idea. I'll be going back for that. I thought everything was pretty pricey, but then I had to remind myself that Canadian prices are not like US prices. The liquor tax here is bonkers. So, I guess their prices are on point for the area. Fleetwood is my favorite area in Surrey. I like this place as being my local hang out that me and my chums can walk to. It's also a good first date place because it's pretty low key. I.E., not loud, it has an upbeat ambiance (especially cozy on a rainy day), and you can actually have a conversation and hear each other. Another positive is that they cater to a wide demographic. All ages, all races, and so there are lots of regulars. I have found that the patrons are generally easy going and so a conversation can started pretty easily.“

“Food at Jolly Mac's is consistently very good. service is always friendly. One issue is that I have been shopping at the Liquor Store for 17 years. They always had tax and deposit included in the prices. Suddenly their prices have been changed to not have tax and deposit. I am not sure why this was done. It was always better to know the price you see is the price you pay. I think this was a poorly thought out decision.“

“Had an amazing lunch today at Sapperton District Taphouse. I ordered the House Salad with cajun chicken and my daughter had the Kung Pao Noodle Bowl. We both loved our meals! We also tried the Moscow Mule they have on tap and a pint of the Vertical Winter Ale from Tree (drank that too fast to take a pic, so good). We felt very comfortable the whole time. Lots of covid restrictions in place and we especially liked that our utensils came individually packed and sanitized. We found out this place is entirely locally owned and they have a cold beer & wine store inside!! We took home some Rock Creek Cider on our way out. We will definitely be coming back soon.“

“We had our Christmas party here. Chicken dinner with a vegetarian option. The food was fine as was the service. I was surprised that a dingle glass of wine was as expensive as it was as the legion has always been famous for reasonable drink prices. Still, this is a nice location.“

“I attended the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce networking event at Samz Neighbourhood Pub, and the evening felt like stepping into a pocket of warmth and community. The pub was the perfect setting — relaxed, welcoming, and full of friendly faces.

Samz staff were attentive all night, the drinks were great, and the space created the ideal backdrop for conversations that flowed as easily as the atmosphere.

I met so many amazing local business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders — each conversation felt like a spark that could grow into something meaningful. Events like this remind me why I love living and doing business in the Tri-Cities.

“We love this little spot! The cheddar ale soup is incredible, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the servers are attentive and friendly. It's in such a convenient spot and makes it so easy to just stop in and have something delicious to eat.

“Kellie, the daytime bartender is one of the best bartenders I’ve ever Had make me a drink there isn’t a drink out there that she cannot make with an awesome smile and a great personality. She’s definitely is the reason why I go to Hops rather than any other pub I would recommend going there for a great time.“

“Top tier semi hidden bar! It's a bit of a time capsule to an older-Van style, unpretentious sports-bar roadhouse type place. The location is unusual, sort of at the basement of an apartment complex on a road you've never been to before, situated on an urban residential cul-de-sac, giving the bar a sheen of surreality.

With many pool tables, lots of tables, two big screens for 2 different games to watch, and good prices for beer, I'd be here all the time if it was local to me.

Special mention for the food: had the chef's special lasanga last night and it was so good ordered a second dinner to try!

“We had a family group of 9 people coming from different cities for brunch and they were able to accommodate us on the heated patio which was quiet so we were able to visit. The service was great and we felt well looked after. We were invited to stay as long as we wanted which was very much appreciated. Most of us ordered off of the brunch menu and the food was good and reasonably priced. A very good experience.“

We stopped in to order take out to bring with us back to the hospital, when the bartender learned this he gave us a desert to bring back to our sister who had just given birth. Such kindness from start to finish.“

“My experience is pretty good. I was greeted by a pink haired little lady who greeted me with a smile and was so excellent at quick conversation. I wish I got her name, but I’m pretty sure it was Micaela, because I heard a server calling her that. Our server, I believe was Jamie, was exemplary at quickly giving us our food while multitasking all of his other tables. The only thing I could complain about was the prices of the food, but the food was so. Dang. Good. I think overall the staff is what makes the experience and this time; I think the staff made the experience not only great but perfect. Amazing atmosphere as well, definitely come here for a good photo with your friends.“

“July 26/25 I arranged to have a birthday party for my son - in- law 69th birthday unfortunately, he died Easter Monday. But we honoured his wishes and went forward with the party, at the elk's club.
We had around 100 people there and the compassion, kindness and accommodation were awesome! A huge thank you to Joe Edan for giving us this spot. And huge thank you to Tabitha and the other bar tender ( his name has slipped my mind ) for their amazing service.
This would not have been a success, without the team work of the staff at the Elk Club!!!

“Went there for lunch today had the fish and chips and coffee the food was so good , Dan had the steak sandwich and chicken on the side perfect will be going back. The service was great and fast.“

I ordered both and expected to pay for both. I just thought maybe they might offer some kind of discount...live and learn.“

“It was my daughters 19th bday party on Saturday Oct 1 st / 22 and we had over 65 people! We reserved the top area. We had so much fun. It was amazing. The service was amazing. The waitresses were so good. Thank you so much ladies!! We would recommend to our friends and family. 😊“
