50 Best Pubs near Coquitlam

“It's been a while since I've been to the John B Pub, a friend of mine and myself decided after a few years to go for lunch.Sure glad we decided to go to the "B" The food in the past has always been so consistent and very good. And happy to say after a few years it's still the same ( absolutely consistent )

We both had the JB Bacon Double Cheese Burger, with me having the Onion Rings, and the friend of mine the Fries and a Gluten free Bun for him as well.

Burgers were outstanding and extremely flavorful and definitely fresh, Onion Rings and Fries were both on point also. Add a couple beers to everything... And perfect...!!!

Service was very good, and our server always came around to see how we were doing.

Now that many of us are retired early now, we all may be going to the John B Pub more often for lunch.

By the way the menu has so much to offer, and covers everyone's needs. Seems like they downsized the menu a bit, because I definitely remember it being so many pages to turn lol. It was almost too much to choose from before. Now it seems to be the perfect menu size, that still covers everyone's needs.

“we love this place, food is good, friendly staff but one thing I think they could improve on, they advertise it as a pub and restaurant, we went a month go with a family with small kids from out of town. we asked for a high chair as one of the kiddies was under one but they didn't have any, and they didn't have kids menus. We always see lots of kids in there so I think it is a good idea to cater to families with kids.“

“This place was a great surprise as I have not been to a Browns in years and I had previously been very disappointed with their prices and menu. However, after stopping at Cactus Club and seeing their selections and prices ($42 for a bottle of house wine!!!! that was not really very good at all), my bestie and I grabbed our coats and drove 4 min farther to Browns Social House. We were looking for a hostess to see if we were to seat ourselves when this pleasant young man with a huge friendly smile came up and asked if we needed help. (I assumed he was a server.) He said we could sit where we wanted and we chose a nice corner table and sat down. We laughed and told the waitress about our day. (Another whole story). Needless to say, the wine was very good and reasonably priced, the food was tasty and served quickly and the young man who had seated us came over and was actually the manager! Our server had told him of our ridiculous day and he actually came and talked to us and thoroughly added positivity to our evening of a very long and crazy day. Carter is excellent at his job and our server said they all think he's just the best. So I stand corrected on my previous thoughts of Browns. Carter and his staff changed my mind completely and instead of going to Cactus Club I will most definitely stop here instead. And currently, their Happy hour menu has changed and is now half price wine from 3-5 every day! We will try that next time for sure!“

“My first visit here, and it was such a great experience. My partner and I came in to unwind and enjoy a drink, and this place was exactly what we needed. Was perfect for us..had steak and pasta first time..went back a second time and had steak and pasta and steak frites.. so good.. happy we found this spot!

“Had an amazing lunch today at Sapperton District Taphouse. I ordered the House Salad with cajun chicken and my daughter had the Kung Pao Noodle Bowl. We both loved our meals! We also tried the Moscow Mule they have on tap and a pint of the Vertical Winter Ale from Tree (drank that too fast to take a pic, so good). We felt very comfortable the whole time. Lots of covid restrictions in place and we especially liked that our utensils came individually packed and sanitized. We found out this place is entirely locally owned and they have a cold beer & wine store inside!! We took home some Rock Creek Cider on our way out. We will definitely be coming back soon.“

“Food at Jolly Mac's is consistently very good. service is always friendly. One issue is that I have been shopping at the Liquor Store for 17 years. They always had tax and deposit included in the prices. Suddenly their prices have been changed to not have tax and deposit. I am not sure why this was done. It was always better to know the price you see is the price you pay. I think this was a poorly thought out decision.“

“We had our Christmas party here. Chicken dinner with a vegetarian option. The food was fine as was the service. I was surprised that a dingle glass of wine was as expensive as it was as the legion has always been famous for reasonable drink prices. Still, this is a nice location.“

“We had a great experience at this location. Our server was absolutely amazing and I wish I could find my receipt that showed her name. She was very informative on all of our food and drink selections.
We had the pizza selection, the table was full of pizza and it was the best choice. Wildfire and great crust with a good amount of toppings. You could easily share the pizza with a friend or eat it yourself. We did decide to have dessert as it was house made and not brought in by bulk. Cheese cake, wow! Simply devine. I'm allergic to the topping it came with and the chef was kind enough to make me a topping I could eat, that's above and beyond service. I highly recommend the pizza and cheese cake.
Great selection of beer, there is something for all tastes. Pop and cocktails available along with mocktails.
It has a really comfortable atmosphere but very Bar like. there is a patio but we arrived in a rain filled night so had to sit inside. It's clean and inviting.
Great location in new Westminster, if you're taking the SkyTrain it's right next to a station, Columbia I believe. If you're driving there is some parking out front. If not there is public pay parking a few blocks away.“

“I was in coquitlam for a few weeks from the UK and felt right at home here. Staff and patrons were all welcoming and friendly, the place had something going on nearly every night of the week and AL the doorman was a pleasure who accommodated you. If I’m ever over that part of the world again I’ll be sure to pop back in.“

“Great place, really good food and service, plenty of options to eat and drink. Service was really good from Tim the bartender as the 3 of us sat at the bar be a use the place was packed.

There were reserved sections that were not getting used due to waitress shortage (2 on shift) so to not stretch the staff too thin, about 4 tables (not much) so as we could not find anywhere to sit, we chose the bar.

Had a great time, and we plan on coming back soon.“

“Went with my friends during lunch on Saturday. Lots of seats available, which was great.
Service was great! We asked to watch a specific soccer game, and they put it on for us.
The only reason for a 4 star - is the food. We ordered party size nachos & cheese - it was fine. Not the best taste that I had, but was a decent size. Also ordered burgers, which were a bit “dry”. But for the price it was good. Just not as good as it was when we had it last time.
Anyway, I’d definitely go there again, probably would order something else, not the burger.“

“I like this place. The fact that they have Heineken on tap is a big plus for me, because it's my favourite beer. This place has a great selection of beers on tap. “This is my go to pub/place to have an event with friends. I have been going here for years and I absolutely love it. The last few times I have gone however, it feels off or weird. The older bald bouncer guy is kinda rude and kept my friends waiting at the entrance for over 30 minutes, until I arrive and pointed out clearly free tables. It was almost like a weird power trip over these girls who were there to celebrate a birthday. I also had a previous experience with an incredibly rude manager. Other than that the rest of the staff is absolutely amazing and always contributes to us having an amazing time. Some staff need to chill out a bit though, because they change the energy of an otherwise amazing place. The food is great for pub food and the drinks are great. Whenever I get the bill I'm always shocked how affordable it is compared to other bars (which I love). Overall good place with mostly amazing staff.“

“This place is a hidden gem. They have a burger and beer deal for 11$ that can't be beat. Great food great service. Sue was our waitress, super nice lady very friendly, and just made our experience so much better. We will definitely be going back.“

“We were served by a young lady by the name of Kassandra. She was extremely helpful with the menu and we were very happy with her service.

“We happened to find this pub while visiting New West. We absolutely loved it! So much that we came back two days in a row! It has a great atmosphere, great music, but mostly fabulous food, fabulous service, and one of the nicest servers named Lexi! She is so delightful! If you get a chance it is so worth a visit. If you haven’t tried there spicy margarita, I highly recommend it. Also, there burgers, pastas, and fish and chips are delicious! Looking forward to our next trip, we’ll definitely be back!“
