“Wild Thyme doesn’t just serve Lebanese food, it serves home. You walk in and it smells like someone’s grandmother has been slow-roasting garlic and blessings since sunrise. It’s small, always packed, and absolutely worth the wait. I’m convinced half of New West is just standing outside hoping for a table.

Now the food? Ridiculous. I ordered the chicken tawouk and it showed up looking like it had been plated with love and possibly divine intervention. The garlic sauce alone could end wars. The hummus is smooth, bold, and just disrespectfully good. And don’t even get me started on the saj bread. It’s like edible magic carpet material.

Portions are enormous. You think you’re ordering lunch, and suddenly you’re staring down a tray that could feed a wedding. Staff are warm and clearly proud of what they’re serving, and they should be. This isn’t fast food. This is soulful, unapologetic, flavor-loaded comfort. Wild Thyme isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a full-on experience.”

They patiently answered all my questions about the menu, deals, different types of pizza, and available toppings. Their warm attitude really made a difference and added to the overall experience.

I pulled up to the drive-thru window and small talked with the young lady. Soon, I was blurting it out. You girls, you all get mammogram! You don't need a doctors referral.
The BK employee then handed me a Crown and said something like I could be Queen for my surgery. You got this! Then the next lady came over and she too brought me a BK Crown.
I was very touched by this moment. When they wheeled me into the OR I thought of the Crown and smiled inside.”

The fries are golden, crispy, and homemade — straight cut with just the right thickness. The cheese curds? Easily the best I’ve ever had anywhere west of Quebec. The steamy dog all dressed is a true classic, and hard to come by out here, but this is the place to get it if you’ve been craving that authentic bite. Bravo. I’ll definitely be back. 10/10.”

I simply have to share our fantastic experience with the Columbia Street Sandwich Company in New Westminster! When my son Adam got married on July 5th, we had a large wedding party staying at the Inn at the Quai, and the morning-of fueling was a top priority. We needed a vendor who could not only prepare delicious breakfast and lunch but also deliver it precisely on time to our hotel. And let me tell you, Sam, the owner, and her incredible team absolutely knocked it out of the park!

Breakfast was a dream come true for ten hungry people getting ready for the big day: a perfect combination of delicious breakfast sandwiches, fresh baked goods, a vibrant fresh fruit plate, and a carafe of piping hot coffee. The best part? Sam herself delivered it right on schedule!

Lunch was equally impressive, featuring a delightful mix of mini croissant sandwiches, a hearty veggie plate, and a refreshing assortment of water and juices to wash it all down. And again, delivered on time by Sam!

Beyond the fantastic food, the value for dollars spent was truly exceptional. Sam was the epitome of professionalism, never once trying to upsell us or push for more than we needed. She genuinely cared that everything went smoothly, and it absolutely did.

“I'm a New West resident and have been going to Steel & Oak probably since it first opened and any time I have served growlers of their beer at gatherings on my deck, people have loved it. I recently went there with a group of non-New West friends and everybody enjoyed the beer, food, service, atmosphere and vinyl collection. As I was paying my tab there was a problem with the credit card machine and I was inadvertently charged twice. When I dropped in to explain what happened the staff were super friendly and helpful in getting me a refund. I’ll continue to tell people how great this place is and be in on a regular basis.”

“I tried their fried chicken noodle. Meat portion is 25% of the whole noodle plate.
But I like the taste and texture.

I tried their chicken fried rice and fried chicken with dry peppers.
Fried rice was average and had 20% chicken and 80% rice, I shared with another person as we are small rice eaters.

They have a seating capacity for 12. And tables were already taken on Sunday during lunch hours.
