“After walking past the broken irrigation system and entering inside. You will be greeted and directed to a waiting area which is a bit uncomfortable seating looks nice but very rigid, you will be forced into a proper posture.
The food is very quick and fresh to arrive almost as if the chef is at the table with you.
Wait staff very quick to make sure your table stays clean, had to ask they stop changing my plate so often, kind of funny but a but distracting when you are chatting with your group. I did very much appreciate the humor they had when coming around very welcoming with the humor of an uncle or a sibling, a gentle tease or offering to do somthing ridiculous like well if you dont like the filling in the sesame bun I can remove it for you no charge and give you back the bun with no filling.“

“Good food, great service, good vibes
Service was great, better than most Chinese restaurants.
Decorations was good for the most part.
Food is good, love the Siu Mai, baked bbq pork bun, one of the best in greater Vancouver. Other dishes are average, even it says it is their specialty dishes“

“The food at Joyful Seafood Restaurant was top notch. I want to say it’s the best Chinese seafood restaurant in Greater Vancouver. The customer service level was excellent. Manager Sam was very helpful in helping us choosing a fresh rockfish as dinner. It was the freshest seafood I ever had. Kudos to all the waiters and waitresses. The quality of the lunch dim sum was also top notch. I definitely highly recommend Joyful Seafood restaurant.“

“Live in New Westminster, but will still make a point to come here, during non peak hours for dining or take out. Their food is very good. Generous portions and alot less or no MSG. We like their wontons BBQ pork noodles.( Huge wontons and a la dente noodles). Their chow fun- stir fry rice noodles is delicious. The rice noodles are not mushy. Their hot pots are good. Seen some reviews and said service is rude. They often short staff or don't have enough on during peak hours, so we are just a bit more patient with them and say our ' please and thank yous ' plus give them a good tip. I know it is appreciated by them.“

“We’ve tried many Chinese restaurants, but this place suits our taste the best. Not only does it match our family’s preferences, but even when friends from afar come to visit, everyone praises the food here—especially the delicious dim sum. The staff are friendly, and the prices are very reasonable compared to other places. The restaurant is always busy, so if you don’t want to wait, I’d recommend calling ahead to reserve a table.“

“Came here for 10am breakfast. Was craving centrury egg congee with pork liver. $11 was a bit overpriced in my opinion, but the congee was good. My wife paid $10 for her meal and she got twice as much food as me from another booth.
Lucky my wife shared one of her eggs and spam with me 😋“

“This is our go-to restaurant whenever we don’t know where to go, we know the food here will always satisfy our cravings! I highly recommend the clay pot rice, it’s a must have! The rice is crispy on the outside and so flavourful with their customized sauce and meats! Just make sure to order it right away since it takes about 30 minutes to make.“

“A reliably tasty dim sum spot with authentic Cantonese flavors, tidy execution, and genuinely attentive service—easy to recommend for a relaxed weekend yum cha .
Siu mai are bouncy and meaty with a sweet shrimp snap; seasoning leans classic and lets the pork-shrimp blend shine without MSG heaviness .“

“Wanted to make my 1st review for this very good food & services cafe.
Before entering the cafe, reading all the reviews got no expectation. So no photos.
We ordered stir fry noodles, sandwiches milk tea and lemon tea.
All were fresh. The sandwiches were very good. The noodles were not too oily nor salty, ordered mini size but enough. Milk tea was good. Prices ok.
Services were exceptional good too. Asked if food ok, how was it. Very nice indeed.
We were no relation to it. Just wanna to reverse others ; this cafe is a gem. Don’t over demand a cafe to be a Michelin one. Value for money. Will be back.“

“We come here often because it's close to our family. The food is very standard dim sum, nothing special. I usually order the pan fried turnip cakes - it's usually really delicious but the last few times it has been dry, flavorless and bland. The rice rolls are a little too dry as well. They do have delicious baked BBQ pork buns though and their fried dishes are usually good.
The service is always 👍. They're very personable and friendly, and very efficient.
Go in the morning. It gets extremely busy once 1130am comes around.“

“I am back from Toronto and visiting with family. We were looking for a good rice noodle restaurant to try. We found this based off of reviews and it was very good. It was Sunday 12 noon and we were able to get a table for 5; no wait. We had BBQ pork rice rolls, pork congee, curry fish balls and deep fried donuts. The food was tasty and fresh. The price was very reasonable. I would return here on my next visit back here.“

“Stopped by for a snack after getting some groceries and they had the best original rice rolls we've ever had! The soy sauce wasn't too salty, the rolls were perfectly tender yet slightly springy, and the sesame seed topping was a nice touch. Really liked the side of peanut sauce & oyster sauce too!“

“I've been coming here since I was a kid. Always good value and food tastes great. Braised beef brisket hot pot is very tender. If you don't get the black bean sauce for the chow mein, the flavor will be milder. The chow mein noodles are nice and crispy and absorbs the sauce well. I'll continue to come here.
Parking: Can be hard to find parking during the afternoon and early evening“

“The rice rolls were a bit disappointing — the texture wasn’t as smooth and silky as I had hoped, and the sauce was quite limited, which made the overall flavor feel a bit bland. For the price, I expected a better experience, as it wasn’t particularly affordable. The youtiao and century egg congee were decent, but nothing memorable — just fairly average in both taste and presentation.“

“Grand Crystal Seafood Restaurant, located in Burnaby’s Crystal Mall, offers a refined Cantonese dining experience with an emphasis on traditional flavours and fresh ingredients. The restaurant features a spacious interior with round banquet-style tables, making it ideal for family gatherings, celebrations, and weekend dim sum outings. Diners are welcomed with carts of freshly prepared dim sum that include popular favourites like har gow (shrimp dumplings), siu mai (pork dumplings), steamed beef balls, and silky rice rolls wrapped around deep-fried Chinese doughnuts.
Beyond dim sum, Grand Crystal serves a wide range of classic Cantonese dishes such as crispy chicken, braised tofu with mushrooms, stir-fried lobster with sticky rice, and sautéed pea tips in garlic. The seafood is notably fresh, often featured in dishes like steamed fish, salt and pepper squid, and seafood hot pots. The staff are attentive and efficient, often recommending dishes and ensuring tea pots are promptly refilled.
With its combination of traditional flavours, comfortable setting, and variety of offerings, Grand Crystal Seafood Restaurant remains a popular choice in the Metrotown area for both everyday meals and special occasions. Whether it’s a leisurely dim sum brunch or a full banquet dinner, the experience is consistently satisfying.“

“It's a really good Chinese restaurant. We go there for late lunch on Saturday. I don't know what to order. I see the chicken with broccoli chow mein looking good on my next table. So I just tell the staff I want this one on the other table. She tells me that the one I want has lunch special. It's a good deal. It costs only $14.95 for it. Thank you for the friendly and helpful staff.
Since we are too hungry, I forget to take pictures.
I also order one veggies stream dumpling and congee. The dumplings are so good and fresh. It's even better than the big dim sum restaurants in Vancouver.
I will come back for it soon.
I can only take some pictures outside the restaurant. The food are just as good as the pictures showing there.“
