“We had not been to Yuan's before. The staff were friendly, explained our options and made it easy to order. There was a good variety of meats and veggies. The dinner for 4 was too much for us, it almost could have fed 5 people. It was a relaxing and enjoyable experience.“

“I really like the soup. Lots of options to put in the hotpot, and the beef is super cheap at night. The spicy beef tallow broth hit the right spot for me, which is great because I don’t find most spicy options satisfying. I also like the fried buns.

If I could ask for one thing though, I would like if there were more option for single people. The prices were definitely made with groups in mind but I would love to go here alone. Otherwise I’m very satisfied.

They are the absolute sweetest here and I am so excited for my dinner and so excited to have been able to come back it was the first place I got lunch when I flew into Canada from the states a year ago and it’s still just as lovely.“

The broth was legit amazing and way better than all the other local pho joints and came with a decent amount of meat (2x what's shown in my photo - I already started eating before I remembered to take the photo). I'm a big eater and still struggled to eat 2/3 of it. In the end I had 1/3 of the gigantic large size left. The staff are all Vietnamese. The only drawback is that there's only paid street parking in the area.“

“One of the few Chinese restaurant that still have dim sum cart going around instead of placing your order. Main advantage of dim sum cart is you can see how it looks like instead of just a dish on the menu. And you can have your favorite food right away.
Since their food is very reasonably priced so parking is challenging and you may have to wait over half hour during weekends lunch time. Waiting on Sunday started as early as 11am and still a line when we left before 2pm.“

“This place is definitely a hidden gem in BC! Second time going to Mr. Bros and the food is amazing every time. The atmosphere is quiet and never too busy, with complimentary music in the background. The place is beautifully decorated with funny figurines and frogs, and once again, the food and service amazing! Although the place is small, it is packed full with amazing vibes, workers, and food. Will definitely be coming back again! I would also recommend the tteokbokki with fries, and kimchi fried rice, both are a perfect balance of sweet and spicy they’re my families favourite! 💓“

“Really enjoyed this Japanese spot!

The mentaiko udon was definitely my favorite – super rich and flavorful, and the little pops of roe in every bite were so satisfying. The noodles were chewy and cooked just right.

The chawanmushi (steamed egg) was amazing too – silky smooth with shrimp and salmon roe on top, which added a nice depth of flavor. So comforting when it’s warm!

The agedashi tofu had a great texture – they used firm tofu with a crispy outside and soft center, and the savory sauce brought everything together.

We also had the eel sushi roll, which was perfectly balanced – not too sweet, and the eel had a nice charred flavor.

And big shout-out to the staff – super kind and attentive. The whole dining experience felt cozy and welcoming. Definitely coming back!“

“Edomae sushi at a reasonable price. Popular sushi joint. Clean minimalist decor. 6pm reservation. My wife really enjoys coming here. I feel that they can better improve on their rice preparation as it's a bit gummy and mashed. It ought to be distinct, plump and glossy. The 90 minutes time limit is a bit tight but we happily oblige because we want to see this kind and hospitable husband and wife team succeed and serve more waiting customers.“

“We made a reservation for dinner on Apr 22nd because we went the weekend before and it was 1 1/2 hour wait. The food was really good but small portions. We booked for 5:30pm and left at 8pm and not by choice. We took our 7 year old. His food came within about 20-30 minutes. While we got our miso, edamame and salad one at a time, It took over an hour to get our BBQ meat, and longer to get our bowls of rice. 2 1/2 hours to get our bill (with me stopping someone to ask for the bill). Our son was super excited to cook meat but was getting upset with all the waiting. Quite honestly, the 2 adults with him were too. But I would give it a try again because the food was good“

Soft crab burger, Crab portion Was much smaller than shown in the photos. A little bit to Oceany for my liking also. However, the onion rings and the salmon, fish and chips were excellent, Especially the salmon, which was very lightly battered just like I like it. Also, the tartar sauce is excellent! Service is average, our food came, and we were not checked on during our stay, but the staff did come by and clear a few plates and dropped off a couple of napkins after I requested them. “Really good aburi and special rolls!! Highly recommend the aburi tuna nigiri and try the other aburi nigiri to see which one you like the best. They have an awesome aburi platter as well. Special rolls are also really delicious, we've tried at least 6 of them and they never miss. Service was quick and attentive. The place feels like a premium hole-in-the-wall sushi restaurant. Will be back for sure.“
