“I always enjoy this as a substitute for an expensive airline lounge. Fly a low cost carrier, get some really good food and excellent wines before your flight. It's now open till 1030 or 11pm depending on the day. Great stop before a red eye. It's the Flair premium lounge lol“

We had an amazing experience at Bravo! We made a reservation for 10 PM and arrived on time, not realizing the restaurant closed at 11 PM. We stayed until 11:45 PM without even noticing how late it was, and the staff never once made us feel rushed. In fact, the owner himself was helping to serve, which we only realized while chatting with him at our table. He was so gracious and welcoming—it really added a personal touch to our evening.

We’ve ordered every item (was so good we had to reorder some of them) on the menu and the food was phenomenal, and the service was exceptional. It’s rare to find a place where both the quality and hospitality are this outstanding. Bravo is truly a gem, and we can’t recommend it enough!“

“Had been hoping to come just for the cool NBA vibes, but we didn’t check the hours closely enough, so we awkwardly walked past while they were closed. One of the managers spotted us and opened up just so we could come in and eat lunch! He was an incredible host, the vibes are impeccable inside and the food is great! 10/10 experience.“

Tucked away in a less than inspiring alley, you enter to feel the warmth of a cozy little tasting room. Red brink line the walls and soft dim lights bathe the long spare room. The counter is accented with an array of colorful piggy banks which serve as placeholders for table reservations, very cute.

Our hostess was super friendly, and helpful in serving up two wine flight trios. The Proyecto granacha we had was the standout but we were happy to try all of them.

We lingered here for quite a while before continuing our walk through Gastown. Recommended if you want to break your day of exploring with a leisurely glass of wine.

“We had a wonderful dining experience at Croquette Brasserie. Our waiter was both helpful and charming, adding a personal touch to the evening. We started with the moules-frites, sharing the mussels and fries as an appetizer. The dish was outstanding—perfectly cooked mussels paired with crisp, golden fries. For our main course, we chose pasta sourced from their sister restaurant, Fiore Famiglia, which happens to be our long-time favorite neighborhood Italian spot. As expected, the pasta was impeccable, showcasing the quality and flavors we’ve come to love. A special highlight was the crème brûlée, torched at our table by the waiter. Watching the caramelized sugar form into a crackling, golden crust was such a treat, and the result was as delicious as it was entertaining. The ambiance was made even better by live music from "Van Django," an incredible violin and guitar duo. Their lively and romantic performance elevated the evening to something truly magical. Croquette Brasserie is a gem we can’t wait to visit again!“

“We went to this restaurant the other night on a whim, and I am really glad we did. The food was amazing. We had the burrata caprese. It was amazing!! It might have been the creamist I have ever had. We also had the spinach ravioli and the gnocchi. They were both wonderful. To top it all off the service was nothing short of perfect. The two gentlemen that tag teamed our table we so informative, prompt, attentive and above all personable. It made the experience that much nicer. If I had one small critique it would be to lower the lighting a bit, but nothing serious. I highly recommend.“

“This Greek restaurant offers a wonderful variety of family style/sharing dishes. The food is absolutely excellent and super fresh! I love their lemon potatoes, their lamb chops are divine, and their chicken kabobs are juicy and tender. We also loved the egg plant dip and the garlic prawns. It’s a fun place to come with friends or on a date. The restaurant is large and nicely decorated but because of all the hard surfaces, very noisy and a bit cold. Not cozy whatsoever. The service is outstanding and the staff really positive.

“My boyfriend an I were looking for a place to dine while walking around Gastown when we came across Al Porto. We entered and where greeted by the waiter SIXTO. He made us feel very welcomed and took care of us. We had the lasagna which was excellent and the calamari which we found to be very chewy and tough. Not properly prepared. We ordered Molson Canadian beer and where told that we don’t carry it. SIXTO recommended we try The Kokanee beer which was comparable. We where offered the dessert menu but declined and had another Kokanee. Overall experience was good with exceptional service from our waiter. Will defiantly return to this restaurant next time we are visiting Vancouver.“

However, the Chef can’t read special instructions so we got chili flakes. Not a huge issue, but frustrating when people aren’t paying attention.“

Reasonably priced and economical vibes in the restaurant which could use a little updating maybe but we like and it is clean and fast and incredibly good. Every time we try other sushi we compare it to Ajiya and so far Ajiya always beats every other place. This is not a place to come to and expect high class service as it is economically run by the owner and a small staff and it seems the negative reviews are from high maintenance people who expect so much while still paying so little, not fair in my opinion and so easy to disregard their opinions but when it shows up in the overall number out of 5 then definitely not fair. This should be in the high 4.5-5 rating restaurant and we will definitely keep going back.

Vegetarian options: We often order vegan and vegetarian options and I especially appreciate the tofu sushi which you can almost never find anywhere else. So many amazing choices.“
