The Thalapakatti chicken biriyani and Thalapakatti mutton biriyani were outstanding — rich flavor, perfectly cooked rice, and authentic taste that reminded us of a true South Indian feast. The mutton was especially tender and well-marinated. The starters were just as impressive. “We only bought some different beans by Republica, and we haven’t purchased coffee in-store or used their café services, so I can’t comment meaningfully on the service or atmosphere.

However, my father is a big coffee enthusiast. He grinds and brews his own coffee daily, and he has already tried Republica’s beans from different regions. We’ve also tested beans from four or five other roasters across Greater Vancouver.

So far, Republica’s beans stand out as having the BEST ROASTING quality, being the FRESHEST, and also the most reasonably priced in Metro.

“Prado Café is hands down one of the best coffee spots around. You can tell they take their coffee seriously — even their drip coffee is next level. Honestly, it’s probably the best drip I’ve had anywhere. Smooth, rich, and full of flavor without any bitterness.

“I walked by yesterday and saw this tea shop. Daughter loves hojicha so we went for hojicha latte. Excellent Hojicha Latte, both hot and cold, not bitter and full flavoured. We wanted matcha tiramisu but they were out of stock, so we went with sweet potato tart instead. Taste is really good, but portion size is on a small side. They probably have some staffing issues but the lady (owner?) at the counter tried her best to take care of our orders. Will continue support our local small business and hopefully they will stay in our community. ありがとうございます, ご苦労様でした.“

“I love the Chai tea and the friendly warm inviting atmosphere. They got it right from the start. This is an award winning business and the secret is going to get out. Great place to meet a chum or a future bestie, or to sit and draw or work for a while.“

“Met a friend here for a Christmas Catch up. I observed the most amazing server at work. She was sooo on the ball, juggling quickly all the orders coming in. The line up moved quickly. She was able to juggle everything with stealth, systematic organization and balance... Didn't get her name but I did comment to her how wonderfully she served everything and everyone. I hope she is payed well!!! And certainly does not deserve a minimum wage pay check. I did though find the only healthy, very tiny amount, of healthy snack available very expensive. It mostly consisted of heavily plasticed packaging. I was however very grateful for the very little I was able to get.“
