The mutton was especially tender and well-marinated. The starters were just as impressive. “The Missus and a childhood friend had afternoon tea at the Duchess Tea Salon. Its location was unique for a tea room as it is in a business complex. The room had a shabby chic decor and the ambiance quiet and relaxing. Service was friendly and ready to help. The Missus found the savoury and sweet foods were lighter in taste and not as heavy as at other high teas. A pleasant afternoon.“

The gal working the counter was super kind - once I realized she was Japanese I asked if I could try ordering in Japanese to get ready for an upcoming trip. They let me, slowly, order and then even encouraged/provided the answer when I was fumbling. Great drip coffee, the blueberry white chocolate scone was firm on the outside and fluffy on the inside. “I have been here many times, it’s a local business and they do an absolutely fantastic job.

I can’t get over how good the service is, They really make you feel like they want you to have a great day.

As for suggestions, the club sandwich is probably the best sandwich you’re going to have this month, I promise you.

And they make it in front of you open kitchen style.

“I walked by yesterday and saw this tea shop. Daughter loves hojicha so we went for hojicha latte. Excellent Hojicha Latte, both hot and cold, not bitter and full flavoured. We wanted matcha tiramisu but they were out of stock, so we went with sweet potato tart instead. Taste is really good, but portion size is on a small side. They probably have some staffing issues but the lady (owner?) at the counter tried her best to take care of our orders. “I've noticed since the reopening after covid that this is one of the friendliest and nicest Starbucks around, I used to avoid this location and drive past it to go to other Starbucks because staff weren't that friendly and the parking was so frustrating but now it seems like the culture has changed, the friendly quick service.“
