“The beef brisket noodle soup was pretty good - it costed $25 CAD. However, the boiled fish dish was disgusting. I ordered it under the impression that it was the chinese style plate where it’s a whole fish cooked with ginger and scallions with a light fragrant sauce. I was wrong.
Pictures on the menu would help.“

“Good friendly service
Good fast service
Good pricing
Clean well managed
Food cooked well. If you ask the food to be cooked a certain way, they do it. And do a good job.
Food and portions are done the same every time.“

“Let me start by saying the food is good but on my most recent order the rice and noodles now come in smaller containers. The dinner for four no longer comes with deep fried wonton. The chicken in the chop suey was not nice and the food was barely warm. I'll give them one more chance but will start looking for somewhere different.“

“Food- we ordered 6 different items and all were excellent
Service - pleasant and quick. There was only one other table with customers Saturday at 7pm. I understand they do a lot of pickup and delivery orders.
Atmosphere- okay. Would be nicer if there were more customers.
WOULD WE GO BACK? Absolutely! Everyone at our table said they would return.“

Vegetarian options: Had vegetable chop suey and lemon chicken, and their delicious lemon sauce as well as many other delicious items. I recommend them highly. So glad I found them!“

“I love a good hot pot. I love the chain restaurants in Vancouver and try to go whenever I’m on the mainland. Although Laila Laila is the best on the island. Great service with an exciting wheel of prizes for the table the day we went. Tons of food for a great price. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great experience!“

“We came here not really knowing what to expect but had been walked by too many times. We both admitted this was the best Chinese food we had had as far as we could remember. Talking with the waiter and cook after who were great said they really focus on the authenticity of the Beijing style they know. We've never been to China but certainly know this was not your typical Western version of Chinese food and it showed in how incredibley delicious it was!“

“Wow and again Wow ! Did I transport back in time to the glory days of "Chinese Food" . So delicious ! I highly recommend. My Atmosphere 5 star was based on what I saw as I picked up my take out , but the dining area did look immaculately clean, but keep in mind it is a retired Tim Hortons , not the fancy dining experience the Original Sam Pan in Saanich Center .“

“I don't normally do reviews, but I had to for this place. While wandering around victoria I stumbled across this place while looking for a quick bite. They have sizings for both a smaller or larger appetite. The interior is quite well done for the modest size of this place. And the food! It definitely is one of the best chinese foods I've had in a while. And I can't forget to say the price range for the food is at a steal“

“Ordered via Skip. Driver brought the wrong meal. Called the restaurant and they promptly dropped off the right meal and told us to keep the other one too! Thanks for the great service and so much good food!
Vegetarian options: Lots of great choices for vegetarians!“

“The best authentic Chinese food in Victoria! The best thing to do is to ask for recommendations instead of ordering Western-Chinese, as the authentic dishes were incredible and better than anything I’ve had. We got the blackened chicken, eggplant, Sichuan green beans, fish hot pot, and ant up a tree noodles which were all so flavourful. The portions are also very generous for the price!“

“We have been eating here for several years, we love j and j wonton! They have scrumptious gf choices-honey sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, Singapore noodles, green beans with black bean sauce...The house special soup is just magic! We don't know the secret ingredient but suspect it's love!
Dietary restrictions: Wonderful and delicious gf options!“

“Food is good. We always get it delivered from Skipthedishes. We were very surprised and disappointed when we took our food out of the bag and noticed that the food tins they put the rice and chow mein in are now quite a bit smaller. Sizing down is maddening plus the price went up as well. So we pay more for less food. This will be my last time ordering from them because it was too expensive before but now with less food, it's just too expensive to eat there.“

“+ Servers are quite nice, but...
- Servers don't answer questions that well, when regarding their menu: when asked "what are your thickest noodles?" (in Chinese) the response was vague confusion, as if the question didn't make sense.
+ 1st dish: Soup & Thick Soup, Hot & Sour Soup. Quite nice, with what I can assume as the correct order of spice.
+ 2nd dish: Appetizers, Honey Barbecued Pork. With many pieces, and a good sauce, this is just a tastier grilled thick bacon.
• 3rd + 4th: Hong Kong Style Chow Mein, Barbecued Pork & Vegetable Chow Mein. + Vegetable, Eggplant with Garlic Sauce.
+ 3: The pork is SO SOFT, and the serving size is big enough for a single meal by itself. Taste works as expected as well.
+ 4: By a personal professional, the eggplant is great, and overall is better than many of the other restaurants'. For my opinion, though the eggplants' nastier taste does come out every-so-often, after dipping it in the sauce, it taste quite like fish (as advertised)!
+ 5th: Seafood, Szechuan Seafood Delight. And delight is the right word, as its softness and taste is quite delightful indeed. The spice chosen seems to match as well.
• 6th: Hong Kong Style Chow Mein, Shanghai Special Noodle. This was ordered spicy-less and to-go, thus is not included in the rating.
+ Food quantity is satisfactory for a restaurant of this nature, and to exemplify that point, we only finished one of our dishes. Would come again.
Vegetarian options: No idea.
Dietary restrictions: No idea.
Kid-friendliness: Good for kids!
Wheelchair accessibility: You can access this restaurant with a wheelchair.“

“This little family run diner is always a reliable stop for lunch or breakfast. I’ve never had a bad meal here and I’ve been going here for years. It’s my go-to if I’m in the area and need a good lunch. My favourite is the prawn Wor Wanton soup, but everything I’ve had is good. Highly recommended.“

“Can’t comment on atmosphere and service as meal was delivered. The Chow Mein with assorted meats was loaded with beef, chicken, bbq pork and shrimp. The “Chef’s garlic pork”while lacking in description was a delicious and unique dish with tender pork pieces in a sweet soy and garlic sauce. The wonton soup was tasty and portion size was decent with plenty of plump wontons. Hot and fresh even with delivery, would try their other dishes again.“

“The imperial concubine chicken is very good, recommended! The doneness is just right, and the onion and ginger dipping sauce is very authentic and delicious!
The Jinsha bones are very average, very small, and after deep-frying, they are hard and crispy overall, without the tender texture of the short ribs. And there are many small pieces, and when you bite it, you get a piece of fat, which is a poor experience. There is a taste of salted egg yolk but not much, the color is too dark and there is no "golden sand" visual.
I have tried roast duck several times. It should be the crispy skin that comes out of the hot oil. It is actually quite good, but the production is unstable. Only once did I taste the roast duck sauce with the aroma of sour plum. I still hope that some acid can be added to the sauce. Plum powder is used to enhance fragrance and relieve tiredness.
The overall quality of the dishes is quite good, and the service is also ok.
The disadvantage is that parking is very inconvenient. There are only a few paid parking spaces next to the store and paid parking spaces on the roadside.“
