Restaurant is large - it has great ambience, the layout provides a personal and intimate feeling despite there being many tables. The food is superb, we plan on returning to make our way through the great menu. It is the best place we have eaten at in Canada for food, service and ambience. We highly recommend the seafood tower as a way to taste through some of the menu. The grilled octopus rivalled what we have eaten in Italy. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. The wine list is extensive and expertly curated.“

A good selection of fresh fish, the ratio rice/fish is perfect compared to other sushi places in Victoria and the chef added a bit of citrus on some nigiri that are fattier and some nigiri are blowtorch to enhance the flavor which shows his skills and knowledge. Love the mix of tempura and fried shallots for the crispy salmon roll. I would definitely recommend to try them out! Their prices are very reasonable considering the quality. Definitely my go to place for sushi now.“

“What a great little place for take out sushi. Fresh, generous portions, and fair price. Everything is made to order and very fast. It's so evident that they care so much about the quality of their food.

Sashimi sizes were larger and very fair price for what you get.

We got salmon and tuna sashimi, spicy salmon roll, and California roll. Everything was tasty and perfectly made. Rice was perfectly bound together but not pressed too hard - just right. Spicy salmon sashimi sauce was just right and they were not drenched.

Restaurant is very clean and service was welcoming.

Since we had breakfast just two hours before, we weren’t too hungry — the portion size of the combination was just right. If you have a bigger appetite, you might want to add a small side dish.

The Salmon Roll and Tuna Roll were better than I expected, with generous portions of fish. Prices are reasonable for downtown Victoria, and the ingredients were very fresh. The staff were friendly and polite — it seemed like many of the customers were regulars.“

I think a lot of people coming here expect standard sit down dining style sushi and food and are disappointed with that. This place is meant to get something at the counter, then either sit and eat or take it to go.
The food is good, not amazing, but VERY good value for the price and quick service. For example, a teriyaki chicken bowl that will fill you right up is $8 and ready in 5 minutes. You're not going to get that anywhere else around here, and it tastes just fine.
