The dimsum items taste homemade and not from frozen. This was a delivery order and they came warm and so comforting.

Thai tea with50% sweetness and boba is perfect amount of sweetness and chewy boba is 5-star.

“Excited to experience dim sum at night! That's the best part about this place. Dim sum anytime. This is one of their newest location. We're so glad we came here. Parking was insane but we got lucky and parked by a nearby lot. We even met the owner Michael. What a nice man! Two of my friends have tried their SF location so they already knew what to order. Lucky me! Everything was mouth watering delicious. The wait outside was not long at all and we came early by 6 pm. There's 2 levels of seatings and I highly suggest to ask for the upper floor seating. Much cooler up there on a warm day/night. The servers were so nice. I definitely remember William. Checked on us often and made sure we enjoyed our meal. We had 7 dim sum selections and there was plenty for the 3 of us. We even had a mini to go box at the end. The price is $$. I can't wait to go back here again.“

“The best XLB I ever had. The thickness of the exterior dumpling that holds the delicious pork soup mixture inside is the perfect balance where you can gently and carefully pull it apart from the parchment paper it sits upon without tearing and spilling everywhere, and it is not too soft, not too hard, but perfect. Only someone with a masterful and skilled hand could have done this, and the Chef takes confidence and pride in their dumplings, looking through the glass to see our reaction of that first bite, eagerly awaiting for the joy inside to let loose into a smile and a laugh. I pray that this place never goes out of business. The staff was friendly enough, the environment was clean enough, the decor was cute and simple, there is one restroom, very well stocked and clean, and smells kind of like the very first Yugioh starter pack kit, back when it was just Yugi and Kaiba starter decks. I also had a refreshing berry drink that was worth it. We got XLB classic and crab, pan fried soup dumpling, and the very delicious fresh pea leaves which was worth it's price fully in satisfaction of flavor, vibrantness, and freshness. The flavor of their vinegar and chilli was also not cheap or lacking, but very good in spice level and flavor and vinegariness, which isn't a word, I know, but like come on. “Finding high-quality dim sum delivery that doesn't arrive soggy or smashed is rare, but Dim Sum SL absolutely nailed it. Everything was packaged securely, arrived piping hot, and stayed completely intact during transit. If you are looking for the best dim sum takeout in the area, this spot is highly efficient.

The food breakdown:

Shrimp and Chive Fried Dumplings: Easily the highlight of the order. The wrapper had a perfect, crispy golden fry to it without being oily at all. The filling was incredibly flavorful, packed with fresh chives and plump shrimp.

Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow): Excellent execution. The translucent dumpling skin had the perfect chew and didn't tear when picking them up. Inside, they use actual high-quality, whole choice pieces of snap-fresh shrimp instead of a filler paste.

Pork and Shrimp Dumplings (Siu Mai): A classic done right. These were savory, juicy, beautifully seasoned, and packed tight with a great balance of pork and shrimp flavor.

Fried Buns: The buns had a good chewy texture—crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The dough has a subtle, mild sweetness to it that pairs perfectly with the savory interior ingredients.

It is incredibly impressive to get restaurant-quality dim sum delivered right to your door without losing any freshness or texture. Everything tasted great. Highly recommended!“

“First of all, the food was great. I could tell it was a popular restaurant based on the non-stop delivery pick-ups!
The service was unique. There was only one older gentleman, and a bit of a language barrier. But we were able to easily order and communicate that they were out of the donuts. 😭
But despite that, and the hole-in-the-wall location of it. And the confusion of a another, similarly named restaurant Spices across the street. But we got pointed in the right direction and we were very happy with the quality and flavor of the food.
We had the Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Buns, and scallion pancakes. All of which was delicious.
And the price was phenomenal. Especially given how much prices have gone up over the last couple of years.“

“Perfect place to grab satiating lunch and dinner when on-the-go AND on-a-budget. Discovered this place on a trip and have been coming back ever since. Communication can be quite tricky but you can also point out what you want and they’re very generous with their portions. The food is really good from the fried chicken/pork to the rice, noodles, vegetable stir fry, shrimp, etc. The lines can be long during lunch rush but they work to get you in & out as quickly as possible“

“Still pretty good after the remodel. Great service including changing out our plates twice during dim sum which I did not expect. They constantly came over and took away plates. The items I thought very average include ham sui gok too much dough and not enough filling. Shrimp dumplings and Xiao mai and chang fun were ok. The chau siu puffs, malay sponge cake, and beef organs and offal were all excellent.“

I love that there is plenty of parking and while the restaurant was about half full while we were there, it was quiet enough for my friend and me to have a good conversation without feeling like we have to shout or lean across the table to hear each other. “This is the best place for steamed bun in Oakland Chinatown! My family and I have been going here for many years and we have always enjoyed their pork buns, "big" buns (contains egg, chicken, seasoned pork, and Chinese sausage), cabbage & pork buns, and custard buns. For us, their steamed bread products are really what shine here, the bread is fluffy & soft without being too sweet or dry and the fillings are well-seasoned, fresh, and plentiful. Yummy Dim Sum was closed for a while for remodeling and our family had to try other places in Chinatown for steamed buns and all the others were not even close to the quality of this place. After remodeling, their prices were raised a bit (around $1 to $1.50 per item), but their prices are still very affordable and honestly, I don't think any small shops in the Bay Area can survive charging any less than they do at the moment. Furthermore, the shopkeepers are very nice and patient when we go there, which is always a nice plus for to-go shops such as this. Given they are one of the last good steamed bun places left in Oakland, my family & I are more than happy to support them when we can and would highly recommend you give them a try as well!“

“Unexpectedly great. My boyfriend has a set of go-to dim sum places and I am new to the region. I thought I routed us to one of his primary vetted three dim sum places in downtown Oakland, but this place is just outside of dt. When we realized we were not headed to the place he wanted initially, we decided not to reroute and try a new place. We were able to find parking in the lot upon arrival and there was no wait to place our order. This ended up being closer to where we live and more convenient to get to than any of the places in downtown. The sizes and serving quantities were very generous. Pics include a chapstick for reference. Everything was tasty enough to come back and order the other items that we wanted to try but ran out of space for. The bread-y items were so soft and fluffy. The dan tat was sweet like a pastry (how I prefer it) instead of neutral like traditional dan tat.“

“My long time place for delicious chinese food. The dumplings are good: try the lamb with zuccini and chicken with spinich for a real treat. The dim sum is the best in the Hayward area. Oustanding dishes are: cucumber with garlic and fungus, salt and pepper chicken wings, tender vegetables with filet fish, string beans with chicken, Egg Foo Young (unbeliably great), walnut prawns, won ton soup, knife cut chow mein with mixed meat and shrimp. All portions are large and properly packaged. I only do delivery orders with BEYOND MENU who favors local businesses so I have no rating for servive or atmosphere. This place is a find!“

“One of my favorite places in Oakland to grab some dim sum to go. It's usually a busy place, but the lines move nicely. There's 2 lines in there so make sure to line up in the right area. One line is to buy the roasted meats hanging in the front window of the store and the other line is for dim sum. There's one long table with a few chairs along the wall if you would like to rest a bit and chow down on what you just purchased.

We always try to order the siu mai,chicken feet,tofu skin roll,baked char siu bao,and a few of the fried dumplings when we go. All of those are so flavorful and tasty. You don't need any sauces to go with any of those since they themselves are so delicious already,they're not too salty nor too oily or fatty. The baked char siu baos are a thing of beauty here. If you don't grab any dim sum then please grab yourselves the baos. The filling is plenty and the ratio of bun to meat is pretty good if you compare it to other places.

I don't really care for the roasted meats myself(the roasted duck,soy sauce chicken,roast pork,etc) because I find them not as good as the other places. I don't necessarily like their seasoning and flavor. Stick with their dim sum and you should be good but of course this is just my opinion and maybe you would like their roasted offerings.

The workers there are always helpful and friendly. There's usually 2 or 3 people to serve each line.“

“The food is the best Chinese cuisine I've had in the U.S., nearly rivaling the meals I've enjoyed in Hong Kong and China. The ingredients are exceptionally fresh, with high-quality meats and seafood, and there wasn't a single dish that wasn't delicious. Our group of four are all devoted fans of Chinese food, so we ordered an extensive selection from the lunch and dim sum menus, along with one outstanding entrée from the dinner menu. I can't recommend specific dishes because everything we tried was excellent. Beyond the food, the ambience is lovely, with a gorgeous setting right on the bay, not merely overlooking it, but sitting only about 10 feet from the water. The restaurant is spacious and impressive, located on a spit of land at the very end of Emeryville. It's also an excellent choice for larger gatherings. I've dined here several times over the years but hadn't been back in quite a while, and I was pleased to see that the restaurant has noticeably upgraded its presentation and service. The menus are new and laminated with clear photos and explanations, the chairs are exceptionally comfortable with beautiful slipcovers, there's a bar I hadn't noticed on previous visits, and the waitstaff is better trained. Although our food took a while to arrive when the restaurant wasn't full, it was well worth the wait. As for pricing, the prices are considerably higher than we are used to, but they are fully justified by the quality of the food.
