“Went for lunch on Sunday at 1pm after it was recommended by a friend for having good dimsum. We thought there would be a wait but there were a few open tables so we were seated immediately. The service was attentive and the food came quickly. Go for the food, not the ambiance. The menu isn't as extensive than a dimsum restaurant, but we appreciated the variety. Our favorites: * String beans - crisp and flavorful!* passion fruit aloe green tea - refreshing! * pork belly with charcoal buns - my son who loves Peking duck said that he would rather get these now. Not sure if the charcoal buns are supposed to taste different than normal bao - they tasted the same to us. * braised beef noodle soup with wontons - delicious shrimp wontons and a very beefy broth. * pan fried soup dumplings - tasty filling and lots of soup to slurp up. Next time we would skip: * cucumbers - too vinegary. Seems like they may have accidentally poured too much vinegar in our serving. At least that's my hope. * beef kimcheese rice - more tomatoey than kimchee flavored. * XLB trio - couldn't really tasty the truffle flavor. I wish we could order just the crab ones. The others weren't that amazing.“
“Shanghai Dumpling has great soup and pan fried dumplings! Best Shanghainese food in the area. They have a huge menu that caters to all the best Chinese food including dim sum on top of all their other food. Their lotus wrapped sticky rice is great considering its the only place that does night dim sum in the area. The workers are kind and quite easygoing.Vegetarian options: There is the option to eat rice with the non-meat dishes like spicy tofu or green beans but I wouldn’t say it’s vegetarian focused or a great vegetarian experience“
“Five of us came to try the $88 set menu for 4-6 people. (I initially thought it was $88 per person and was overly disappointed, but found out later it was $88 for all of us ?).We ended up ordering 3 other dishes, which brought our total closer to $200, but it was not bad. Everyone enjoyed the food.“
“Unpopular opinion..... this is better than koi palace and this is coming from someone who grew up eating koi palace at least once a month Every single dish was cooked to perfection! The salted egg yolk crab was the best thing I ever ate. I'm definitely coming back for family dinners and celebrations!“
“Wonderful food especially the stir fried beef dishes! The drawback is the service time which takes over 30 mins for our meal to come. Ambiance and atmosphere are noisy and loud like any other dim sum restaurant on a weekday evening. Great food if you wish to wait for over half an hour to be served.Kid-friendliness: Parking is a challenge but if you go early you can find a spot on the streets.“
