Dim Sum Restaurants near Palo Alto, CA

“Came on a Sunday around 7pm and there was still a line but we were seated within 15 mins so not terrible. They use QR scanning on the table but the servers do come around to check if you have questions. We ended up seated outside, which wasn't bad since it was a bit warm that day.

We ordered the regular soup dumplings (XLB), the pan fried ones, (SZB), the egg and Chive pancake, and the green onion noodles (recommended by the server). Both baos were excellent and we ended up ordering seconds of both of those. The chive pancakes were pretty good and the noodles were tasty as well but we felt that for the price, it wasn't worth it.

We'll likely be back again but stick to the baos.“

“Had a delicious lunch with 1 family member & his visiting friend today. We all enjoyed the dishes that the only photos I took were desserts consisting of the classic sesame balls (bigger than anywhere else I’ve eaten) & the black sesame mochi in peanut crumble (only place I’ve seen).

The portion is generous on the mentioned desserts above & the mushrooms dumplings.

The only thing I dislike in Chinese restaurants in general is the WHITE RICE that I mistakenly ordered 2 bowls which I should have refused.

Japanese white rice still reigns supreme in my book.

A few attentive waiters served our table which I preferred, vs 1 designated server, which means we could call on any available waiter for assistance.

We could only ordered so much for 3 diners, so there are more reasons to go back to enjoy other dishes.

Prices are on the higher side due to @ the DT location.

PS — Parking in residential streets a few blocks away, for 2 hours at-a-time… Doesn’t DT want people to stay longer?“

“Came here for a casual date night on a Friday. Place was pretty empty for a Friday which meant we got seated right away, and staff was friendly throughout. Portions run small so plan to order more than you think you need. Still a great value. For the food itself:

The Dan Dan noodles are the move. Oily, salty, spicy, and the Sichuan peppercorns actually numb your face and stick around. Makes sense they're the most popular thing on the menu.

Chicken xiao long bao were good but the broth inside was weak compared to other places I've had them. Still good though.

Chicken potstickers were well executed, good crisp on the bottom, but nothing standout about them.

Sweet and sour cucumber was a solid starter and looked nice, but the slices were too thick to actually be able to rip out.

The egg fried rice is really good. Oilier than most but that's exactly why it works.“

“A wonderful pasty store I found accidentally. I got chicken dumplings and beef and onions stuffed pancakes from the frozen section to make at home. They also have ready made food you can enjoy immediately.
If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask. The place is very friendly.“

“This is a takeout spot located in a business park, so it can be hard to find. However, their dim sum is pretty good and it's definitely a good value for how much you get. Our favorites are the pork buns and siu mai. The hao gar are pretty good, too. The bean curd is a little hit or miss, but they're packed full of filling. Pickup process is interesting as you ring a doorbell and someone will come bring out your order. They can be flexible with pickup times, though it depends on how many orders they have to fill. Parking can be a pain, but on weekdays it's not much trouble finding a spot along the street.“

“We have not been here in many years. What a pleasant surprise they still deliver the same great quality food and service. And now, they have outside seating too. They still have the traditional carts roaming around the dining room with delicious choices. We liked that the classic dimsum fare was still being served and they do not scrimp on portions, unlike many dimsum places in Millbrae and Daly City. The shu mai was juicy and large, as were the shiu bao. The tofu skin wrap had a lot of filling instead of several layers of tofu skin. The ham suy ko was plump and crisp on the outside but chewing on the inside with a good amount of filling. We came for a late lunch but they were still full. Their service was friendly but brisk and efficient. The place was clean and pleasant. We will be back!“

“This is our go to Chinese restaurant. We like it here because it is clean and food is great. The owner is very kind and welcoming. We can ask for our food to be adjusted to our taste which we appreciate as we don't like it too salty and must be without MSG. We always order here the fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and their soup. Parking is also no problem.“

“My favorite style of food growing up is Hong Kong cafe style, so to have Inshou close to home is a treat! A regular order is the baked spaghetti bolognese and brick toast (with condensed milk and peanut butter). Topping it off with a HK milk tea makes it perfect! Elegant surroundings, gourmet chinese food, great service. “Great BBQ ducks. The staff is friendly, but busy. The deli is always a line, so don't expect restaurant level service, it's all fast food plastic forks and spoons. But it is tasty and very generous portion and filling.

Aside from the duck, Lo Mai Gai (Dim Sum Sticky Rice Chicken) had been my favorite .“

The barbecue pork and roast duck over rice are the orders, the dim sum list runs from siu mai to xiao long bao, and the combo plates stay generous for the price. Open daily through dinner, with a second shop now in San Mateo. Thank you for feeding the neighborhood right. Five stars.“
