“MONDAY FOOD REVIEW...PUESTO...6/17/24! After leaving California's Great America, we stopped for lunch at Puesto, a Mexican/American restaurant, located at 2752 Augustine Dr., in Santa Clara. This restaurant features Mexican dishes with an American flare infusion! I had their their Shrimp a la Plancha, which is Mexican shrimp, garlic butter, red onions, jalapeños, guajillo chile, avocado, and Tamarindo-chile sauce, and it comes with herb lime rice, black beans, and blue corn tortillas. This was absolutely fabulous!!! It wasn't your typical Mexican dish...the different ingredients they used to create this dish all blended together VERY well!!! If you are looking for a little something different to satisfy your Mexican food craving, and want some added flair, then this is THE restaurant to go to!!! I HIGHLY recommend it!!!! My rating: 10++++“

“Some family friends introduced us to La Cueva and this has become one of our family’s favorite restaurants. Our girls love the Cheese Quesadilla, Bean and Cheese Burrito and the Kids Nachos (nachos covered with refried beans and cheese). My wife and I have had the Shrimp Burrito, Cheese Enchilada, Chicken Enchilada, and the Carnitas platter. All have been really good with great flavor. Regarding the Carnitas, they cook it perfectly so that there is a slight crispness on the outside yet moist on the inside. The star of the show is their green sauce. It has got the perfect balance of heat and flavor. It goes well with all the dishes we have ordered and I found myself putting on other things that I cook at home. You also get a bag of tortilla chips with your order.

This is a family owned business and their customer service is fantastic. Our food is always ready when they say. One thing to be aware of is that they get busy on Fridays so it might be hard to get through on the phone. But keep trying, it's well worth it. Once you try their food you will be hooked. I highly recommend them!!!“

“I stopped by Mar Y Sol Taqueria on East Santa Clara Street and had to try two of their popular items — the Shrimp Tacos and the Super Burrito. Both were fantastic.
The Shrimp Tacos (on fresh handmade tortillas) were next-level. Juicy grilled shrimp with perfect seasoning — light spice, not overwhelming — piled with crunchy coleslaw, pico de gallo, avocado, and a touch of Monterey cheese. The tortillas were soft and homemade, and everything tasted super fresh. Around $13.50 for three and they disappeared fast. Easily some of the best shrimp tacos I’ve had lately.
The Super Burrito was a beast. I went with carne asada and it was stuffed with rice, beans, cheese, guac, pico, and more — huge portion, super flavorful, and everything was juicy and well-seasoned. The tortilla held up without falling apart, and it felt like a full meal on its own. At about $16.50 it was solid value.
If you’re craving solid, no-frills Mexican food done right with fresh ingredients, these two dishes alone make the stop worth it.“

“I first met the owner just prior to their official opening. He stated that they would be having fresh, homemade food there; especially and finally, breakfast tacos as well. After awaiting for them to open, I came back and ordered 1 carne asada taco. Afterall; that is the starting point to what can lead to a great menu. Yes it certainly was delicious. I chose to have only one topping as to get the true flavor of the meat. It was juicy and very flavorful. My second and last time I visited was a couple of days prior to this writing. This time I ordered the California Burrito and two Breakfast Tacos. Both of which not only met my expectations, but surpassed it. The owner even threw in a bonus item, a Breakfast Quesadilla. That was the favorite item of my lunch that day. I always do what I can to go out and support small, independent businesses, especially in my own community. Los Jefes Taqueria is a definite place to try out and then you will be back when craving that taco or burrito.“

The quesabirria tacos were incredible, and the surf and turf tacos were one of the best tacos I’ve had by far. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful, and the carne asada tacos were cooked perfectly.

“I have been here a couple of times. Today, I asked by an order of three al pastor and one of chorizo. But when paying I did not realized the chorizo one was not included. When received the order I noticed chorizo was missing but was not charged neither. So the person kindly told me no worries I will do it now. And when I was going to pay he was don't worries is ok. This is what i call amazing customer service. When you care your customers this is what you do and guess what I will be back no only because tacos taste great but for that type of service provided to me. Super recommended place.“
