Valley Wine Warehouse Wineries • $$
175 Tower Rd, American Canyon

“Excellent on line retailer for fine wine. Wines that are for sale on this site are from around the world with a major focus on Napa Valley wines to include the high end limited production Boutique wines. Being situated in Michigan, it is very tough if not impossible to find many of the wines that are carried on this site where pricing is quite fair in comparison to the other on line retailers. In my personal instance, I have bought numerous cases of French Bordeaux, Napa Cabs, Barolos and Brunellos from Bounty Hunter where service has been excellent and the wine shipment and more importantly the packaging has been top notch with all wines being delivered safely and in great shape. As you become a regular buyer you receive a Scout (person assigned to your account) who looks out after your orders and assists you with various service requests like finding unique wine that is currently not in stock at their warehouse. I consider this a major plus having a one stop person to go to for your wine needs. As a tip, you need to join the mailing list to get notified of their regular wine specials and receive their quarterly sales magazine that has excellent coupons that can be applied to wine purchases. Overall if you are into fine wine than this retailer needs to be on your short list of Merchants for obtaining wine like this. Highly recommend.“

“We had a great afternoon with Justin our host..This was the highlight of our stay in Napa and one of our highlights of our holiday to California. Justin was so welcoming. We were unsure about booking a wine tour but the tour was informative, personal and fun, we never felt rushed. The wine was delicious! There was no hard sell, it is a very relaxed family set up. It is not one of the big boys but it is what Napa is all about...good wine and good fun!!! You wont be dissapointed with a visit to Truchard..Highly recommended!!!!Justin was brilliant!“

“What a great experience! Beautiful tasting room located on second floor (there is an elevator for easy accessibility). We were greeted and seated as soon as we came in. Our host Marco was so awesome! He was knowledgeable and personable and made us feel very welcomed. He taught us all about the wines and pairings and also gave us the history of the establishment. It was so engaging and we would have stayed longer if we weren’t in a time crunch. The wines were top notch, we bought two bottles. I highly recommend doing the wine and small bites pairing because they have some delicious food! Reservations recommended especially on weekends. I also want to mention the staff as a whole. Everyone we encountered was friendly and I really appreciate that! Thank you all for making our visit so nice and we will definitely be back“

RD Winery Winery • $$
3 Executive Way, Napa - 3.46 miles

“My fiance and I were planning an overnight trip to Napa with our pet. I had initially planned to check out specific dog-friendly wineries, but we took our time leaving from the South Bay to Napa and didn't allot enough time to check those places out. Instead, I took a chance at looking into wineries by our hotel and hoped for the best. I did a google search of the area and found that RD Winery was a quick 4 minute drive from our hotel. A huge plus was that the winery was also one of the first stops off the main highway, so we didn't have to drive an extra 30 minutes for more popular spots. I was incredibly pleased with our time at RD Winery, and it ended up being the only winery we visited during our entire afternoon! We arrived at RD Winery around 4pm on a Saturday. The place wasn't busy at all, and we were informed that we had just missed a rush of people. This worked out to our favor, because it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. They were also very dog-friendly, and it was nice that my dog got plenty of space to roam while on leash. I did the chocolate and wine tasting, which I would HIGHLY recommend. It was such a sensory experience. I went home with a few wines because of their unique compositions. i.e. the reisling (sweet and citric), sauvignon blanc (crisp apple), veltliner (bitter tones), and zinfandel (spiciness?). I really understood the Vietnamese influences. The chocolates from Socola, a chocolatier by two Vietnamese sisters from SF, were amazing in their own right. The pho, durian, and guava chocolates were out of this world. The pho truffle was spot on with its brothy flavor. The durian white chocolate was fire, and I don't even like durian. The pâte de fruit of the guava truffle was juicy and flavorful.Lastly, the customer service and hospitality at RD Winery were exceptional. There were 4 employees during the time we were there, and they were all friendly and interactive. The staff member who walked us through our tasting was so professional and really flexed her knowledge about the wines and chocolates.“

“I can not say enough positive things about our visit. I called with not much notice and they were happy they were able to accommodate our party of four. Joe was our tasting host and he was an absolute delight! His unpretentious approach was welcoming and refreshing for a Napa tasting room. The wines were lovely and I couldn't believe how reasonable the price point was. The tasting room is housed in a beautiful Victorian in downtown Napa. Absolutely an awesome experience“

“Really great place for wine tasting! Large list of wine options from local vineyards. The best part is that there isn't a preselected menu and they will cater the wine to what you like the most. “This place is great. There are a lot of tasting rooms in downtown Napa, but most are overhyped. This place is right off 1st street and has some of the best wine I have tasted, and the service is excellent. I really enjoy coming here because it feels comfortable and enjoyable, but also the wine is just freaking great.Pro tip: try the Cabernet Franc and ask for Daniel - he’s a great dude and makes the experience wonderful.“

“Unfortunately, I made the mistake of booking Fontenella as our first tasting and I immediately knew the rest of the day was going to be down hill from there! They definitely set the bar and they set it high! This was hands down one of the best experiences I've had in a long time. It was fun, inviting, and educational. It felt very exclusive since there was only one other party there. Dustin, Karen, and Marianne were the epitome of hospitable. I look forward to visiting again!“

“I have to start this post by saying my mom had broken her wrist the day before and the friend that was with us needed a rest stop. I saw a sign that said wine tasting, or wine by the glass and there was a beautiful outdoor seating area. This was the absolute BEST place for us to take a rest.First, the wine we tasted was DELICIOUS!Second, but more important to me Alvaro went above and beyond to be kind to a group of ladies that really needed kindness. He took care of us and we really ended up feeling like family. I'd love to have say there was something special about us, but as we saw others come too I can honestly say he's just a great guy, selling a great product. This is a family company and I feel like I'm a part of it. Many many thanks Alvaro! If you're in downtown Napa come here and enjoy!“

“Lovely winery and even lovelier people! Katie (owner) was so accommodating with my group for a baby shower. She let us come in early to set up, reserved us an area, and graciously hosted us the entire time. An amazing location for trying to get a group together with people from north bay and the city. Quite a few of our kiddos came and had an amazing time with lots of room to run around. I can’t wait to find a reason to have another event here and will return to buy a few more of their amazing red blend.“

Four Fools Winery Wineries • $
13 Pacific Ave, Rodeo - 9.46 miles

“Having lived in the nearby section of the East Bay my entire life, it was shocking when a friend offered for us to join at a very local winery. Right up until the point of parking, I was still skeptical; and then we were at Four Fools Winery. This winery is interesting in that, IMO it is good at a little bit of everything while no particular mastery. The location is not at all far from the water and so provides a nice view for those that want to pay attention. But nice is about it, factually there is no conversation level view like of the GGB or the SF skyline. But thats ok. Parking is on gravel so heel-wearers be cautious. The entrance is basic and local-feeling, not all flashy like other places roughly an hour or so northeast. The benefit of this though would be to support local artists and talent and to buy souvenirs and trinkets that reflect the local culture, not Am@z0n. Staff was kind and talkative to the amount you the patron wants to be talkative, they kinda match your energy. And of course, the wine. The flight was good. The wines differed in flavor and texture so that in itself is always interesting. But nothing jumped out to really grab attention, and the flight could have been a little larger. Again, rating of good. So why go to Four Fools Winery? Two reasons for me. One - proximity. For where we live, this is way closer than Napa, Sonoma, Livermore, Santa Rosa or anywhere else. Cutting traffic time, distance, bridges and gas makes a big impact. And the view is still good if not grande. Two - balance. One more star would come if Four Fools really excelled in one or two areas. Instead everything is "good". However there is a value in that. Nothing is bad, and with everything good there is a sense of basic balance which in itself is a plus. And we plan to go back ourselves, so good isn't an acronym for something lesser or negative. So don't be a fool and pass up this local discovery, be a fool for Four Fools and get in there for a relaxing good time.“

“Lovely estate with great staff. Sunny days here are the best- busy but worth it. The sparkling flights are the ones to go for (maybe I'm just biased towards sparkling). I'd also recommend to try out the delicious vegan cheese pairing. It was so good that even the vegan-haters in the group wanted to order a second one! Cheeses are also sourced from nearby Miyokos, an added bonus.“

Mi Sueño Winery Winery
910 Enterprise Way M, Napa - 5.89 miles

“My friends and I had such a lovely experience here! The wine tasting area is tucked away amongst the barrels and decorated lovingly with pictures of the Herrera family. Andrea and Ronaldo Jr are so hospitable and fun, and really made us wine newbies feel comfortable! We learned so much about the wine making process and the family and can tell how detail oriented they are throughout all of their business, which sets them apart amongst the hundreds in Napa. You just won’t receive this level of service in many places nowadays! We were able to taste wine right out of one of their barrels and compare to the wines they had poured for us. I thoroughly enjoyed their Pinot noir and the price point is fair given they are a small business and focus on quality. They also sell candles, which are also named after family members, in their empty bottles of wine exclusively on site. They smell so amazing, my friend bought 4! Thank you all for curating such a wonderful experience for us!“

“How do I begin to explain how truly amazing this place is? We originally came in May 2023 when we were house hunting to move at the end of June. When we arrived we were met with inviting smiles and explanations of our options. We both decided to do the $25 tasting, which includes 8 total wines!! 4 at the Gardens and 4 at the Blue Victorian! After spending multiple hours meeting the employees and drinking the wine, it was an easy decision to join the wine club! The wine club is absolutely fantastic! $100 a month for two bottles of wine and daily tastings for you and 5 of your friends! This is just two of the amazing inclusions of this club!Fast forward a couple months and we are so glad we joined! Everyone treats you like part of the family and we love coming here almost on a weekly basis. Aside from being part of the family, you won't find better wine in The Valley! “Thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Gustavo Wines Tasting room. Daniela greeted us. She was friendly and knowledgeable and it was apparent that she has thoroughly enjoyed learning about wines. Sat down for a private tasting with Gustavo. He's a very nice, humble man. He's extremely knowledgeable about wine and it is clearly his passion. It was interesting hearing about his personal background as well as the history of the area and the different varieties of grapes. He 'designs' his wines in advance- in essence, knowing which varieties he wants in it to concoct different aromas and flavors. He was super interesting to listen to. He mentioned his desire to come out with a reserve wine. We'd love to see that & will keep our eye out for it. A well worth trip! Left with several bottles of our favorite.“

I kid you not, mind blowingly beautiful, I felt transported to another reality. The first thing we noticed was this custom designed botchy ball / shuffle board table  that looks perplexing, like an interactive art piece that ended up being a so challenging and fun, all while being surrounded by amazing art that truly makes you feel elated after you breath it in.
