“We made an unplanned stop on a rainy, cold day and ended up with one of the best experiences of our entire Napa trip. The collective includes wines from 16-20 winemakers. Marie did a fantastic job understanding the kinds of wines we preferred and presenting several options. At no point did we feel rushed or pressured. It was just a fun time tasting and talking to great people. We purchased a few bottles for shipment and would have considered joining, but with five shipments a year, we felt it was more wine than we needed. (Considering we have other memberships.) “Fontanella Family Winery was such a cute find—and exactly the kind of small winery experience that makes a girls trip feel extra special. You drive through the gate and immediately get hit with those “we’re really in Napa” views: vineyards wrapping around you in every direction.

We had a lovely private tasting, and it was the perfect pace—relaxed, welcoming, and genuinely fun. One of the highlights was getting taken down to the cellar and sampling wine straight from the barrel. It’s one thing to hear that wine needs to age… it’s another to taste it and go, “Ohhh, that’s why.” Such a cool experience.

The wines were fantastic—like “accidentally start doing bottle math” fantastic. And by bottle math, I mean we may have come home with 1, 2, or 10 bottles. I’m not an accountant, so I can’t be trusted with the exact number. I do know I grabbed a Zinfandel and wow—already looking forward to my next girls wine night so I can open it with a little dramatic flair.

They had several delicious gems, and the whole experience felt personal and memorable. Highly recommend Fontanella—and honestly, this is your sign to mix in more of the smaller wineries. They have so much to offer, and this one absolutely delivered.“

“My Wife and I had an outstanding experience in the tasting room with Alvaro after just coming across it on our honeymoon, Alvaro tailored the wine tasting around us and chatted with us about wine showing his extensive knowledge and educating us in a lot of different aspects about wineyards and how the wine is made. We bought a bottle of the 2018 Cabernet sauvignon which is an amazing wine. We can't wait to come back!“

“I visited this winery about a month ago on the fly with my partner while on vacation, and I left feeling so happy that we decided to stop in here. For starters, the building and landscape itself are gorgeous. The chapel on the hill in the back makes you feel like you’re in Europe. We tried several wines, all of which were unique and delicious. The best part about this place, however, was not the grounds or the wine. It was the staff. In particular, Debbie made our day, and our time with her was one of our favorite parts of the trip. She was so knowledgeable and passionate about her job, the ranch, and the wines; but also was just genuinely a hilarious and pleasant person to be around. She is truly an asset to this winery. It has been nearly a month since our visit, but we still talk about our time here several times a week.“

We had the absolute pleasure of visiting Caldwell Vineyard & Winery last week, and can confidently say it was one of the most impressive winery experiences we’ve ever had in Napa Valley.

From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional — the setting, the hospitality, the attention to detail — but what truly made the experience outstanding was our host, Ryan. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about the history and vision behind Caldwell. His storytelling brought the winery’s history to life in such a memorable way. You could tell he truly believes in the wines and the experience they create.

The tasting itself was phenomenal. Each wine was thoughtfully presented and beautifully paired with an incredible selection of meats and cheeses that elevated the entire experience. Ryan did an exceptional job explaining the characteristics of each wine, the vineyard practices, and the nuances that make Caldwell so special. His presentation struck the perfect balance of educational and enjoyable — never rushed, never overwhelming — just seamless and sophisticated.
