Let’s start with the fact that we may have gotten a little lost on the way (who knew Google Maps wasn’t a sommelier?), but thankfully, our host at CADE Estate Winery welcomed us with open arms and a full glass—exactly how every great experience should begin.

From the first sip to the last, the wines were chef’s kiss perfection. I wanted to revisit so many of them that I briefly considered “accidentally” getting lost again just for a second tasting. Each pour was better than the last, making it dangerously easy to forget time existed.

But the real star of the show? Our host. If winery tours were a sport, they’d be the MVP. Charming, knowledgeable, and so engaging that we could have sat there for hours, sipping and soaking in every story about the estate.

If you’re putting together a Napa tour list, CADE needs to be on it. Just don’t trust your GPS too much—getting lost might just be part of the experience!“

“Terrific experience. Great host, great wine, great food, very informative. The only thing that stood out was we were reprimanded for taking photos with a state of the art camera that flys and they thought it was a drone and were spying. Kinda an awkward moment but then that, we would definitely go back but just take our Polaroid instead! 😆“

“Solbar is a beautiful spot tucked into Napa Valley perfect for a relaxing, elevated lunch in between wine tastings. The setting is calm and peaceful, which we really appreciated. You could actually hear each other talk which is rare and refreshing these days.

I popped in with two girlfriends for a late lunch, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our server was warm, attentive, and helpful with the menu. We ordered a variety of dishes to share: the lettuce wraps were fresh and flavorful, the sourdough rolls with spinach dip hit the spot, and the fish tacos were light and delicious. We also shared drinks and the “Lite Lunch,” which was a fun way to sample a few things.

The only miss unfortunately a big one were the Solbar Nuggets. They came out overly greasy and just weren’t edible. None of us could get through them, and that was disappointing, especially at this price point. What left an even worse taste in our mouths (no pun intended) was that our server acknowledged the issue and wanted to comp them, but management refused. For a nearly $200 lunch, that lack of flexibility felt out of step with the rest of the experience.

“I just opened my first bottle of 2021 Zinfandel to go with my freshly butcher, farmed raised, grass fed filet. I moved to Kansas 5-years ago and I’m happy to be able to order my favorite CA wines that I’m so spoiled by. This Zinfandel far exceeds my expectations. Wish my Dad was still with us because this is something we shared a passion for. I know he would agree with me. Impressive Zinfandel. Thank you!!“

“Hall Wines was an experience beyond anything that I could have imagined. When we came to wine taste at Hall, our expectations were not set. I've been too many wineries in St Helena, but I've never been to Hall. The grounds were absolutely immaculate. The winery was stunningly, beautiful. Our server Alfredo Hernandez was knowledgeable, warm, friendly, inviting, and a superb host. I love talking about wanting and asking questions as I taste and both Alfredo and Tom were both a pleasure to engage with. We enjoyed absolutely everything in our experience. We enjoyed everything so much that I decided that after July of this year, I would like to switch my wine club over to Hall from another wine club that I have in Napa. “Out of all of the wineries/vineyards we visited, we got the best education from B Cellars. Forest was a wealth of fascinating information about how wine is made. While we enjoyed our tasty charcuterie spread with our tastings, he showed us maps of all of the vineyards in the valley and explained the importance of the location of where a grape comes from. Our private tour of this stunning winery also included the caves, their gardens, honey bees, and it's production facility-all meticulously maintained. Wonderful experience.“

“Had our first visit to this beautiful winery on Thursday. This was our 4th visit to Napa Valley and this is definitely a top 5. Feels like you're visiting a friend in the countryside. They have beautiful gardens filled with flowers and fruit. If you love dogs this is the place for you. We met the 11 year old golden and heard there are more puppies there too. The people are so friendly and knowledgeable and the wines are so delicious and different than the other wineries. The artwork a the bottles makes it even more special.Thinking Cap white is a blend of grapes we have never heard of and was super delicious. The Pro Que No is a fantastic easy to drink Red blend. We left with 2 bottles of that one. Every wine we tasted was a winner. Met Julia (the winemaker) and her wonderful husband (the farmer). Two really down to earth people who seem to love what they do. “I enjoyed my shrimp tacos. They bring you chips and salsa, which is a small portion then they charge you $2 on your bill when you get it? So in other words, you don’t have a choice unless you tell them next time you’re there that you don’t want the chips in case you don’t. That was a little strange that they charge you automatically. A little overpriced. Other than those 2 things (being automatically charged for chips and a little overpriced), everything was fine.“

“One of my favorite wineries in Napa to visit -- the tasting room is bright, airy, and elegant, plus Martini Park on the south side offers fresh air and sun (or shade, if that's what you need). The wines on offer here are almost all winery-exclusives -- you can taste the Napa cab which is widely available, and the Monte Rosso and Lot 1 get some distribution, but it's entirely possible to come here and taste wines and never touch one of those three. Their quality in vineyard sourcing and production is top-notch, and it shows in the bottle. Definitely worth a stop!“
