“My husband selected Fat Cats for lunch on vacation because he used to be a regular 30+ years ago. I can't rave enough about our experience! We actually got there between the lunch and dinner rushes and were met by extremely friendly crew! The diner was pleasantly decorated and the seating was comfortable. However nothing prepared me for my meal. I ordered the ahi burger. It was perfectly seasoned, cooked, and accompanied. Definitely will stop by every visit to this part of Cali!!!“

“Food was excellent. The standouts were the best fries and clam chowder we’d ever had. The service is fast and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. They are dog friendly and even have a menu just for dogs. Our Maltipoos shared the “Marley and Meat” and loved their meals. We all agreed that Rick’s was our favorite meal of this vacation, and we will be back next time in Avila Beach.“

“Yes, you will need a reservation, but they were kind enough to reserve a special table for us to honor our 10th anniversary! We were greeted with smiles and staff was quick to offer either still or sparkling water [nice]. Our water pourer, Maddie, was ahead of our thirst all evening and our glasses never were empty [we went through three bottles!]. Our server, Haley, was attentive and professional. She very capably poured the Justin Isosceles and went over the menu to answer any questions. My tuna tataki was exceptional...it may be an appetizer, but it was incredibly tasty and filling. The lady thoroughly enjoyed her local sablefish [first time] and its yummy accompaniments. The wine list is strong and reasonably priced. Beautiful views of Pismo Beach enhance the dining experience. The restaurant is on point, clean top notch restrooms and obvious elegance. We couldn't believe there wasn't any dress code...folks showed up looking like they just walked off the beach without a wink. Ahh...the beach life in Pismo is quite relaxing.“

“The staff at Ada's was very friendly and accommodating. They were able to make adjustments to dishes if requested. Ada's clam chowder was different from other places I have ordered clam chowder (comparing with Ivars and Moe's); added fresh chives, gave the broth more flavor than usual. The potatoes in the chowder were the right consistency. Creamy soup without seeming like gravy nor thin. The portion was about 1.75 cups. Ample side sourdough bread. The crust was soft and not dried out. The staff was accommodating, providing peppermint tea and plenty of hot water in a teapot, which I found charming. Parking is an issue, but welcome to costal CA. Everyone has consisdered the limits of possible parking and made diagrams in compensation. The indoor dining room tables are fairly close proximity, so be prepared to possibly know the topic of your neighbor's conversation.“

“this is my happy place! staff always go above and beyond to make our stays great. they are friendly and i love how every time you walk thru the lobby they greet you with good morning...welcome back ..etc. the restaurant is absolutely to die for. the rooms are amazing and the views breathtaking. we visit at least twice a year and always celebrate our anniversary here ! “Lure has been one of my favorite seafood restaurants in California. So excited to see that they opened up one in San Luis Obispo. Had to try it out. The oysters are always fresh and did not disappoint. They usually have a fairly decent price on their whole lobster, although I did not have it for lunch that day. In addition to the oysters, I had the fresh ceviche. It was really good. Check it out when you’re in the area!“

“Took my mom for lunch. I ordered daily special of lobster chile relleno which came with rice, and it was absolutely delicious. Mom had seafood salad croissant and she loved it. Generous servings and good service. Will definitely be back“

“Love the food here, they do a wonderful meal. I have issues with all of the plastic that is used to serve the meals. It would be really nice to have bowls and utensils that could be washed and reused for eat in customers. A good example is The Oki Momo grill located on Broad street. I eat at Oki Momo more often than at Poki Rito because I can eat in and not throw away all of that plastic. They wash and reuse ;)“

“We've been coming here for 40 years and it's always been a favorite spot for fish and chips and tri tip! The atmosphere is wonderful (patio), and it's the first place that we go for food when visiting the central coast! An absolute must!“

“We found a great older bottle of Pinot on the wine list, so started with that. Out food was excellent- we shared ceviche, a potato dish, and a Peruvian roll. All of the food was amazingly fresh and flavorful. The entire meal was terrific. Highly recommend!“

“My wife and I had brunch at Vista Steak and Seafood Restaurant. I had the chilaquiles with 2 over easy eggs on top and my wife had the chorizo with eggs. Food was great so was the service I can't forget the view was beautiful.“

“Seated immediately, friendly and skilled waitstaff; she knew the menu and gave good input. Food was exactly as ordered and burgers were excellent. DH got the seasonal Oktoberfest and I got Marilyn. Sides were handmade onion rings with several sauces, all homemade. The housemate coleslaw was also excellent. We are excited to go back because the milkshake menu looks fantastic. The waiters was also sweet about giving advice on local happenings and things to do, it’s clear she enjoys her work! They also have as full bar with a nice draft beer selection but we didn’t partake as it was 12 am. Walking distance to the pier!“

“Everyone always talks about Firestone and Old SLO, but CJ's is by far the BEST bbq slo has to offer!! We got the baby back ribs, fried catfish, potato skins, and onion rings. All were a solid 11/10. The ribs melted off the bone and the catfish was seasoned so well. Onion rings were the best ones I've had in a long time. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving BBQ.“

“We arrived for 5 p.m. Friday evening for patio dining and live music. Pleasantly surprised to be offered free champagne or a glass of wine (from 4-6 pm weekdays)The view was spectacular the service was great and I have recommended to my friends that we should come back on another Friday.“

“Excellent food and service here—top notch! I was saddened to see the microcosm of negative reviews show up near the top here. All employed here seem locked on serving fresh, tasty authentic food.

The kiosk ordering system feels a bit weird, but it does allow you many customization options. Just be aware that it is like a giant iPad; if your wishes are not visible, scroll!

My only suggestion would be to dim the (nicely warm) lights a bit.“

“All is okay really. Not bad but not incredibly amazing either. Prices are pretty good its not stupid expensive, portions are good. Lots of meat in the beef pho. Chicken plate is loaded and they give a good portion of rice unlike most places. Even down south.“
