“My husband selected Fat Cats for lunch on vacation because he used to be a regular 30+ years ago. I can't rave enough about our experience! We actually got there between the lunch and dinner rushes and were met by extremely friendly crew! The diner was pleasantly decorated and the seating was comfortable. However nothing prepared me for my meal. I ordered the ahi burger. It was perfectly seasoned, cooked, and accompanied. Definitely will stop by every visit to this part of Cali!!!“

“Food was excellent. The standouts were the best fries and clam chowder we’d ever had. The service is fast and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. They are dog friendly and even have a menu just for dogs. Our Maltipoos shared the “Marley and Meat” and loved their meals. We all agreed that Rick’s was our favorite meal of this vacation, and we will be back next time in Avila Beach.“

“Yes, you will need a reservation, but they were kind enough to reserve a special table for us to honor our 10th anniversary! We were greeted with smiles and staff was quick to offer either still or sparkling water [nice]. Our water pourer, Maddie, was ahead of our thirst all evening and our glasses never were empty [we went through three bottles!]. Our server, Haley, was attentive and professional. She very capably poured the Justin Isosceles and went over the menu to answer any questions. My tuna tataki was exceptional...it may be an appetizer, but it was incredibly tasty and filling. The lady thoroughly enjoyed her local sablefish [first time] and its yummy accompaniments. The wine list is strong and reasonably priced. Beautiful views of Pismo Beach enhance the dining experience. The restaurant is on point, clean top notch restrooms and obvious elegance. We couldn't believe there wasn't any dress code...folks showed up looking like they just walked off the beach without a wink. Ahh...the beach life in Pismo is quite relaxing.“

“Absolutely loved the fish and chips! I decided to try Slappy's after checking ratings and was pleasantly pleased. Three nice size pieces of fish that are hand battered,the batter is seasoned and people let me tell you the french fries were insanely out of this world fantastic. The fries look like they have a coating on them but not covered completely in the coating. I know that sounds crazy but it's true my friend and I could not stop eating them so worth the money. I walked up to the side window about 630 it was really good you guys I can't say it enough. There was only one lady working in the kitchen and she was so nice. Go check this place out. They've got a nice little menu of different things not just fish and chips and of course chowder.“

“This was our first stop after coming into Pismo Beach and it honestly hit the spot. Super friendly employees, chill vibe, and fresh, yummy seafood. “Very very very delicious.. it’s been a minute where I leave a restaurant fully 100% satisfied and I was very happy and will be coming back. Just wish there was alcohol but they are in the process of getting their license. I got the shrimp cocktail and a taco de camarón de Culiacán and my husband got the 3 tostadas de ceviche which was served in a bowl with tostadas on the side! The best idea! “The poke nachos and the Mahi Mahi were so good and do not miss out on the clam chowder. It was amazing. Sadly, the fried calamari had no flavor. Service was mostly good. However, we had to flag down our server more than once for refills. The attention after we got our food wasn't the best. Overall, a 7 out of 10. Will definitely try it again.“

“Took my mom for lunch. I ordered daily special of lobster chile relleno which came with rice, and it was absolutely delicious. Mom had seafood salad croissant and she loved it. Generous servings and good service. Will definitely be back“

“Love the food here, they do a wonderful meal. I have issues with all of the plastic that is used to serve the meals. It would be really nice to have bowls and utensils that could be washed and reused for eat in customers. A good example is The Oki Momo grill located on Broad street. I eat at Oki Momo more often than at Poki Rito because I can eat in and not throw away all of that plastic. They wash and reuse ;)“

“Our waiter ( from Mexico City)was beyond excellent in his service and food recommendations. The atmosphere was lively and fun with the staff approach to celebrations. They donned masks, sang and brought sparklers to the table. The whole restaurant clapped in approval and to join in the fun. We had the Mistura Traditional sushi platter and shared a bif steak a poblo?, the first on the list. It was cooked perfectly. We loved the Peruvian touches to each dish! Dont forget to get a Pisco sour for a start.“

“We've been coming here for 40 years and it's always been a favorite spot for fish and chips and tri tip! The atmosphere is wonderful (patio), and it's the first place that we go for food when visiting the central coast! An absolute must!“

(And it’s not even the same staff, the person today was different from the server 5 years ago and they’re just as kind.) What a beautiful gem of a place.

“There was a very friendly waiter, very sad to see him gone, the cook was not good here, he put the food, disinfectant for dishes and the chemical materials that turn the black rag into white in the same sink, this will not kill you immediately but it’s very disgusting, and he refused to wash more of his dirty hands, last but not the least, remember that tips in cash thanks.“
