“Kikyo Sushi and Sake Bar is a great place to eat some great food. Their handrolled sushi rolls are lit!

We had a California Roll and a rock shrimp roll, and they were perfectly delicious. The rice was plump, with a slight bite with the perfect amount of filling.

A must try is their spicy garlic edamame. Man, they are so flavorful with the right spiciness. You'll be asking for seconds.

The reason for a 4 rating is that the bulgogi beef was a bit dry. It fell a little short in flavor and its traditional sweetness.

They have a great 5 dollar "thirst-quenching" draft beer that goes perfectly with your meal of choice.

Will I be back...YES! In a heartbeat and you should too, when you're in the area.“

“This is the best place in LA for teriyaki. I got the chicken and beef plate. The sauce is sweet and delicious, the chicken is perfectly grilled with a nice charbroiled flavor, and the beef is tender. Make sure you add the fresh avocados which pair perfectly with the meat and rice. I enjoyed adding the complimentary hot yellow chilies as well.

This is my third visit here and tonight the beef seemed a little bit fattier than usual like it wasn't trimmed enough, but other than that, everything was perfect. I will be back.“

“This place is easily one of the best sushi spots on 2nd street, delicious options with plentiful portions. I tried the Mexican, AAA roll and the deep fried California roll with all 3 being stellar. The atmosphere is lively and the greeting when you walk in from the sushi chefs is nice ?

“I ordered the Cajun Tuna Roll just to keep it simple. It's great for the price, you get what you pay for. I got curious about the Spicy chicken sandwich and decided to try it out.I have a high spice tolerance and never was really "spiced"out by ANY Spicy Sandwich. Until today. By far, the best spicy chicken sandwich I've had so far. Very crispy and juicy.. Well done! I'll be regularly coming back :)“

“We were seated right away and I really liked how they allowed one of us to do Premium ayce and the other person to do regular ayce, it helped a lot with the flexibility in choosing both of dining experiences but sharing them together. Service was attentive and fast, we waited no more than 10 minutes after putting in our order for another round of food. The nigiri was fantastic, wasabi dots, ponzu and yuzu sauce that goes with the cuts of fish add a lot more to it. Also if you go during lunch time (up to 3pm) the prices are fairly good. Overall would highly recommend, I do wish some of the nigiri didn’t come with the specific sauce, and that the fish could be enjoyed simply without anything added on, still really great quality cuts. Normally I don’t like seared black pepper nigiri but here I loved it, the snow crab was also amazing. You also get a free large vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate syrup if you leave a yelp review, pretty cool. Highly recommend if you love ayce sushi.“

I will add that I travel a lot and try to get sushi as my dinner whenever I am on the road so I’ve patronized a lot of sushi restaurants, mostly in the US and Canada. Roll and Teriyaki is one of those places that compelled me to write a review. I had the miso soup, the 12 piece sashimi dish, the rainbow roll, and the caterpillar roll. The miso soup was good. The sashimi was very good. The rainbow roll was fantastic. And, the caterpillar roll was so unbelievably good that I almost didn’t want to swallow. All that at a more than super reasonable price. “This place did not appear automatically on Google Maps and we just saw it in the area. But so glad we did! Got the donkatsu (Donkkaseu) combo with soba. Portions were pleasantly larger than expected and we felt contently full afterwards. The katsu was fried perfectly and had a nice crunch! The donkatsu had lots of meat, and there were also side dishes that came with the meal!

“I am really glad I found this place. It's a great teriyaki bowl restaurant that serves up better than your average meal. First, they use a great teriyaki sauce. Not the typical sugar loaded sweet teriyaki but a delicious, savory sauce with a little smokiness to it that really is just great on any of their plates. The chicken and the beef is always perfectly cooked, never dry, and never tough. Very enjoyable eating. It's actually the only teriyaki bowl restaurant I visit now even though it's not that close to home. It's definitely worth the drive.

“I had came here for some to go terriyaki chicken before but this time was the first time eating at the restaurant.

It’s a cute little Japanese restaurant with a variety of options from rolls, sushi, warm plates/bento boxes.
I have definitely not explored a lot, but what we got was great.

We tried chicken gyozas, which were okay. We also tried the shrimp eggroll recommended by the owner as she told us the filling was made in house, which was good!
For the plates, I got the sesame chicken as I wanted to change from terriyaki. It was really good. Filling with the rice and salad. The miso soup was actually really good!

Overall, it was a great experience. We got to talk a lot with the owner, and I learned a bit more about that place that has been around for 20 years!
So, my only advice is: support your local smaller businesses. They need it and you get to enjoy nice food!“

“I had the Udon spicy beef combo that comes with 8 California rolls and ordered a side of edamame. Everything was delicious, the food was hot, and it was all served pretty quickly. Me and my girlfriend definitely found our new spot and will be coming back soon.“

“My brother and I wanted to try a new ramen place and ended up here. The food itself was great as I got the bulduk ramen and tempura shrimp and my brother got the tonkatsu. It was all good until I wanted the check. We sat for 30 minutes waiting for a check. The front of staff was more concerned with the group next to us or being idle. I have pressed to call for a server multiple times and hearing the ping letting them know a table needed help but I could not get their attention. I only got my check after the table next to us asked for a check when I told them I wanted a check. I partly blame the system for not properly letting the staff know since the ping only went off for a server request but also for how unattentive the staff is to some other guests. We were at the corner of the bar.“

It was all delicious in a cozy restaurant with friendly staff that made it a great dinner experience. We arrived at 8.15pm, the kitchen last call is 8.30pm. We ordered everything right away.
