“Came in hoping for brunch after a hardcore hiking and learned that breakfast wraps up at 11:45am — worth knowing. No regrets though, because I got the smash burger combo instead and it was excellent. Everything tasted freshly made, the drink came free, and the service was genuinely lovely. Only one thing bothers me was the heat… I’ll be back, and next time I’ll turn up before 11:45am.“

Off rip, I knew it was gonna be bomb because my boyfriend actually has great taste and recommended it. I mean why would I date him otherwise? But I still had to be the one to taste it to believe it. Those biscuits put them on the MAP! I had lost faith in biscuits & gravy in this city. I have been let down time and time again because it was so weak. But these gave me hope for the future 🥹 I could see this place being my breakfast new normal. “Far too packed inside, makes for an extraordinarily loud and less than pleasant dinning experience. Better to eat on the patio, not on the street. The food portions are a little lackluster but the options are expensive. Get water and your drink for there are too few servers to attend to timely refills. This is the type of place you would expect to have carafes of juice and personal pots of coffee but nah, cant be bothered. Cocktails are whats on one of the two menus, so that accounts for part of the noise, too.“

“Okay y'all, so I need y'all to check this cutesy spot out. I tried them for the first time yesterday, for my birthday. And the service was amazing, the atmosphere was great, and the food was DELICIOUS!! I went for brunch btw. I'll be going for dinner next time. But their brunch was AMAZING! I ordered the Steak&Eggs dish and literally cleaned the whole plate. I mean, it was sooo good. And they bring your food out quick too. The only downside is the parking. There's 2 hour parking meters on the street. And there's 2 hour residential parking as well. But there's a lot of signs in the residential area, so I wouldn't risk parking there if I were you. HOWEVER, there is a small parking structure on the next block over. And it's a $10 flat rate. And that parking structure closes at 8pm or 8:30pm (just a heads up). But again, it is a small parking structure. So it gets full quickly. Luckily it wasn't full when I parked there. But other than the parking, this restaurant is amazing. 10 out of 10!!! “This cafe and Juice bar STOLE our hearts! A MUST when in San Diego and La Jolla. I mean, WOOOOWWW! We were able to sneak in a quick breakfast before our whale tour at the Little Italy location, and thank goodness we did! My only regret is not visiting every single day for their exceptional breakfast and high-quality juices! I ordered the All I Avo Wanted - Blue corn, waffle, smashed avocado, feta, shaved radish, over easy egg, chili flakes, hemp seeds, salsa macha. I mean, holy moly. The delivery was beautifully executed and built perfectly. The blue corn waffle was moist yet firm. My mother ordered the Shakshuka - another favorite dish of mine that WOWed. You can not go wrong with Parakeet. Thank you to the divine chefs and baristas - you made Parakeet the most beloved restaurant during our time in California!!!“

“I got lunch delivered from them for the first time today and it was absolutely amazing. I wanted to try the brisket, but they were out so I ended up with the steak sandwich and they were really apologetic and nice about it and even tossed in some extra freebies in my bag. I can’t speak to the atmosphere since I was not there, but the food was so good. I will definitely be visiting in person soon.“

“I have been wanting to try this restaurant and I’m so glad I finally did. I had no idea what this restaurant was about. I found out that it is southern style and I got the breakfast biscuit. This did not disappoint at all! Really large portion. The biscuit is amazing very buttery salty and all the ingredients taste fresh! I also got a cold brew with simple syrup. Usually not huge on just simple syrup. I prefer vanilla or caramel, but whenever they are using it, taste great! On top of all that their signature homemade hot sauce set it completely all off. I highly recommend. I will be back! The owner also was very kind and Max who took my order was very friendly!“

“Mariah was literally the sweetest!! She was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The steak she brought out was really good too, everything came out fresh and exactly how we ordered it. Service was quick and she had such a good attitude the whole time. Definitely made the experience 10x better, would come back again!!“

“I work very close by and would say this is one of the better lunch options in the area for me. Everything is always consistently ready very fast and it’s always tasty. There is a small free parking lot right out front, otherwise free street parking is also easy to find. Inside is large enough to dine in, but I always get it to go. They do have a pretty large menu with a lot of great options on it and I love that they have smoothies and drinks as well as food items.

I have tried a few different things here, but this past order I got the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and added avocado and honestly really liked it. The ciabatta bread was crispy and the the chicken was perfectly spicy and I just really enjoyed it. The dressing on the side salad was also terrific. I would recommend if you are in the area.“

We also shared the French toast, which was just as delicious. “I had such a wonderful breakfast here. Everything was cooked perfectly and served hot. The avocado omelet was especially delicious, and the hash browns had the ideal golden crisp to them.

The pancakes were light and fluffy, and having the syrup served on the side kept everything tidy. It is rare to find a spot that pays such close attention to the small details. I am already looking forward to my next visit.“

“We arrived within 30 minutes of closing and the hostess came outside to flag us in that they were still open. All hands on deck with happy dispositions and friendly hospitality to get our beverages and refill them consistently and our food to the table right quick.

We had omelettes and a side of links, and the omelettes came with a house-made salsa that was divine. He also had a small order of biscuits and gravy which he adored. The whole ambiance is iconic American diner. I wish I could import the whole place and team over to Germany to show my fellow countrymen what American cuisine and warmth tastes and feels like. I cannot recommend the bacon avocado omelette enough to you. Go now, 11/10“

“Enjoyed sitting outdoors with my daughter and two granddaughters after their Kaiser appointments. I had a very tasty Turkey Club sandwich with waffle fries, while my daughter enjoyed a great omelette and her kids had mini-Belgian waffles with sprinkles. Just Perfect!!“

Their breakfast sandwich is an addiction along with their s’mores brownie.
