Tucked between all the bougie Erewhon spots and fancy bakeries, it’s refreshing to have an affordable sandwich place without any of the pretentious vibe, and I love bringing my kids here for a quick bite without feeling like my wallet took a hit. Savanah and Bryce were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us out by modifying my daughter’s sandwich even after it was already bagged up, which is usually where you get pushback, but they made it easy with zero attitude and even offered samples of a few sauces without a single dirty look. They’re the kind of employees who make people want to come back, they represent the company well, and the owner is lucky to have them on the team.“

The people behind the counter are really friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering a #7 pork sandwich. It was really good. What impressed me the most and stood out was the fresh vegetables in the sandwich. They were crisp and refreshing with every bite. I really enjoyed this sandwich!

“The description of Ike's to me made it sound like Fat Sal's and I was excited. Truth of the matter is Ike's holds its own, and it didn't disappoint. It has a great menu mixed with Meat and Veggie options. The Mrs. and I split and highly recommend the Captain Carl and the Meatless Mike (I concur "best vegan meatball in America", and Our 3 y/o gives the grilled cheese 👍👍. Our 9y/o swears it was the best grilled cheese she ever had.“

“John’s Garden is one of those true Malibu classics. I’ve been coming here for years, and it’s still one of the best spots in the Country Mart for a fresh, simple, and consistently great meal. The salads and sandwiches are always made with quality ingredients, and the outdoor seating under the umbrellas is perfect for a relaxed lunch in the sun. “Pockets absolutely deserves some recognition. My family and I stopped in and ordered the Ultimate Steak Sandwich and the Don's Chicken Sandwich, and honestly both were some of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time.
The Ultimate Steak Sandwich was loaded with tender, juicy tri-tip, perfectly sautéed peppers and onions, and not one but two kinds of melted cheese all piled onto a toasted sesame roll. The combination of cheeses took it to another level — rich, gooey, and perfectly balanced with the meat and peppers. Every bite had great flavor and the meat was cooked just right. The Don's Chicken Sandwich was equally impressive — crispy, perfectly seasoned chicken topped with fresh avocado and crispy bacon. Not the kind of avocado that's been sitting around either — you could tell it was fresh.
We added fries to both orders and they were exactly what fries should be: crispy, well-seasoned, and not greasy. A great complement to both sandwiches.
The place itself is small and cozy — just a few tables — but the parking is easy which is always a plus. What really stood out though was the owner. He was running the whole operation by himself and somehow kept everything moving quickly and got our food out fresh and hot without any wait. That kind of dedication shows, and you can taste it in the food.
Pockets is the kind of local gem that deserves way more attention than it gets. If you're looking for a seriously good sandwich in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. We'll definitely be back.“

“This Subway is known as “The Good Subway” among the locals for a reason — they never disappoint. The store is always very clean, and the staff are fast, friendly, and professional. Most of them have been working at this location for several years, which really shows in the quality of service.
This place feels more like an independent sandwich shop than a typical franchise. They’re constantly baking fresh bread, using fresh ingredients, and they’re generous with the portions and toppings you ask for.
It can be a little hard to find at first since they don’t have the usual Subway sign out front, but it’s definitely worth it once you do.“

“Ordered the roast pork. Very big sandwich you can easily split or save the other half for later. I don’t know what liquid they add on top of the sandwich but it was amazing! “I’ve been eating subs from My Hero since 1972! THE best subs I’ve eaten, ever. Moved through the years, and always went to My Hero’s when within 5 hours by car to where I was staying! The high quality of their food has never waivered! The buns are soft, yet chewy! The tomato salad in each sandwich is always fresh! Plus they give a generous portion of the protein! My favorite has always been pastrami! Lean and tasty, everytime! The staff is welcoming and genuinely happy you are there! I’ll be going in a week as I pass through the area! “My husband and I stopped by after seeing Eddie Izzard's Hamlet right down the street. I got the Damon Bruce and my husband got thr Hollywoo. Both were fantastic (though I tried both and think i picked best). The dirty sauce was surprisingly sweet, and the only complaint I have is that it was sweeter than I would have liked. Did not stop me from devouring the deliciousness, though. I will be back if I am in the area again.“

“I had such a great experience at Subway thanks to Mildred! She was incredibly friendly, patient, and made my sandwich exactly how I wanted it. You can tell she really cares about customer service and making sure everyone leaves happy. Even though it was busy, she kept a positive attitude and worked quickly without rushing anyone.

I fail to see why it's more important to serve a non-visible order as opposed to the person standing in front of you. The person who made my order apologized for the long wait, women though it wasn't her fault. Would I have received my order faster if I ordered it online? Probably, but that's still wrong.“
