I tried the lobster roll and my husband had the calamari roll.. It was to die for! I recommend this place highly for all to try! “I can’t speak highly enough. Eat a red dragon roll or any roll from here and tell me it’s not the best sushi you’ve ever had. You don’t need soy sauce, eel sauce, the flavors in the prep and nobody does it better. “4 of us came here for lunch to celebrate our coworker's birthday. Surprised to find we were the only ones there. Most of us opted for 3 item combo - the soup was ok, tofu tasted a bit weird, salad was good, the sushi I got were delicious and filling, the tempura was tasty too albeit greasy. Service was minimal and we were the only ones there, we had to ring the bell a couple of times for service. The place itself is outdated and could use some sprucing up. The table felt sticky and bench didn't have much support for the backside“

“A friend recommended this place and we came here for lunch on a Tuesday and there were only a few other patrons as it was quite early. We were greeting by everyone and seated promptly. We got our water right away and was surprised with the complimentary appetizer of fried tofu with dressing which was piping hot but crunchy and delicious.

Our friend recommended the lunch combo and there were so many items to choose from! Mix and match 2 items for $18 or 3 items for $20, no brainer to go with 3. I ended up getting chicken katsu, mixed tempura and baby lobster roll. Before our food arrived, we were served with a bowl of hot miso soup. And when our food did arrive which took about 5-10mins, we were all blown away by the portion size.

The bento also came with 2 gyoza and small salad. Every item tasted yummy and I thoroughly enjoyed everything but struggled to finish the entire plate as there were just so much food that we had to get to-go boxes.

More people trickled in toward peak lunch hour, I'm just glad we got there early to avoid the crowd. This place is a keeper and we are already making plans to come back!“

“I've been going to this place since I was attending Rio Mesa! I have since moved to Vancouver, WA and there are teriyaki places EVERYWHERE. None compare, still. Sauce is a perfect texture, veggies are always perfectly steamed, portions are amazing. I was so glad to see that this place survived Covid.“

We’ve been going here for years and I always get the cold udon gomuku. It comes with lettuce, shrimp tempura, julienne cucumbers, fish cake, marinated mushrooms, seaweed, and the yummiest sauce. Their fried chicken and calamari are good too. We’ve also had the udon soup and rice bowl combos. Haven’t tried the bento boxed or sushi. Really, we just come here for the udon fix. The waitstaff are always friendly with great service. It’s a small joint in a strip mall but it’s been around forever and is doing something right!“

“We always order the Joey Vegas, Lion King, Drunken Tiger and Muy Chingon when we want rolls and the baked green mussels or spicy edamame for appetizers...and of course an ice cold Kirin light, yum!!“

And I have not once had bad service. 100% would recommend to go during there lunch special. UNDER $20 you get any special roll and 5 pieces of sushi, PLUS A MISO SOUP. “Small & family owned. The food tastes great and the prices are very reasonable. The owners are there 6 days out of the week from opening to closing. Do not go there expecting a 5-star fine dining experience, but if you want to support a hard working small mom-and-pop owned restaurant with great quality foods and welcoming atmosphere, it's totally worth a try!“

“Moved to Vegas 25 years ago. Miss 3 things about Oxnard - Family, the beach and Otani’s. Been fortunate to eat in some of the best restaurants in the U.S. I would choose Otani’s Fried Teriyaki Snapper with double rice over any other meal that’s out there. Otani’s was a staple for me growing up and had the fortune of knowing the family. Crave it constantly and go there every day whenever I make it back to town.“

“I was in a mood for some rolls and saw that this place was the closest to where I live and it had positive reviews. I ordered a couple of rolls and they were delicious. It also helped that the order arrived at a quick pace.
