“I never review restaurants but if you are reading this, I’m really hungry right now….and just wanted to share to my food people, that Kyoto Palace Japanese Steakhouse is the best Japanese restaurant I still have ever been to and my favorite restaurant growing up as a kid… #1 miso soup and salad are just never the same anywhere else..the same chef Jose that would make roosters with the scrambled eggs still works there over 20 years later..If I had yelp or seriously reviewed restaurants I would 10/10 them for never changing a single thing about this place. “Had an amazing experience at this omakase place in Mountain View. The servers and chefs are super welcoming when you walk in! If you here for a celebration or treating yourself to a nice meal, you need to get the omakase tasting menu! The fish was so fresh and melts in your mouth!!! I really like their chawanmushi (steam egg with seafood) , it was so light and flavorful. I recommend this spot for Omakase! :)“

“I come here all the time I recently got food for my girlfriend, daughter and I. I thought they forgot to put an order in my bag and told them. Instead of questioning me too much they made me another one. Through the phone with my gf I found out it was there all along and was actually wrong. I felt really bad and apologized, they were really nice and understanding. They gave me the 2nd roll anyways.I really appreciate them and will be a forever customer :)“

“This sushi spot is down the street from my house and it's quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Granted I usually come in for lunch and order a bento box. I love the spicy chicken teriyaki, veggie tempura and California rolls. Their Chile. Matsu was good but I prefer the teriyaki. Their miso soup is tasty.

Restaurant is typical sushi restaurant size. They may accommodate larger parties with notice. The art on the wall is movies, action figures, and things of that nature

I haven't tried too much outside of that so I will have to order more when I go next time. I want to order specialty rolls. Will update the review after the fact.“

“Ate here last month and still thinking about how fresh the sashimi was. I got the lunch bento with 3 options and chose; sashimi, saba (mackerel) and tempura. It came with a small salad, rice and miso soup. The total was close to 25 dollars and well worth it. The saba was grilled perfectly and the tempura was light, crunchy and not greasy at all. I came with a class group of maybe 10+ people. The students loved the menu also and the staff were so kind and accommodating. 10000% wish I could eat here every week. 1000% will be coming back.“

“We sat at that counter, facing the men preping the food. The shushi was amazing and tasty. The service was fast, and the environment was cozy as well. The only disappointment was their takiyoki balls that each had only one small piece of octopus inside.“

“This place has a good variety to choose from. I ordered rainbow and it had a strange aftertaste, which is probably from the crab mixture inside the roll. The rolls that my friend has ordered were fine and didn’t have that aftertaste. The fish was fresh, the food was ready pretty fast. Service is long, the waiter didn’t check on us after he brought the food for a while. Overall, it’s worth trying but service should be improved.“

So they have a ton of ‘special rolls’ but not so many of the standard type rolls. I happen to like the standard rolls better and don’t understand the whole fancy this and that. That being said I tried both of what they offered. Both rolls overall were good. Not great, nothing that screamed special. It wouldn’t keep me from stopping back at a later date though. Service was again just ok. The typical where their phone was more important than checking on the customers. The atmosphere and location are decent with plenty of parking. Pricing is what I expected. Others have stated the portions are large and that is the case.“

“We ordered Octopus karaage, Jalapeno Bomb, king Crab Roll and Alaska Roll. We loved the karaage most and Jalapeno bomb was good too. But the rolls were not as expected, would rate them below avg. Staff and restaurant environment were standard. Parking might be issue specially during weekend nights.“

“Absolutely everything about this place is amazing. The service is exceptional—attentive, friendly, and efficient. And the sushi? Absolutely incredible, every single time. The quality, freshness, and presentation of the food are always spot-on. Even their chicken teriyaki, which isn’t something I typically expect to be a standout at a sushi restaurant, is absolutely delicious.

They’re impressively quick with their service too, making it a perfect spot whether you’re in a rush or planning a relaxed meal. My boyfriend and I are loyal customers—we come here at least once a week. The poki bowl, which is bursting with flavor and consistently delicious.

“My boyfriend and I visited this spot expecting a revolving sushi bar based on what we saw online, but it seems they stopped offering that a few years ago. However, the change didn’t take away from our experience. We were warmly greeted, and the family-like atmosphere, with photos of customers lining the walls, felt inviting.

I ordered the tempura udon, while my boyfriend chose two hand rolls—salmon skin and cooked salmon. We also shared the soft-shell crab roll. The udon was tasty, though I was slightly disappointed by the egg (I was expecting a poached or boiled one). That said, the tempura was a nice surprise, featuring imitation crab, carrot, and shrimp rather than just the usual shrimp. My boyfriend enjoyed his cooked salmon roll but wasn’t a fan of the salmon skin one.
