And our waitress - whose name I unfortunately did not catch - was thoughtful, friendly, and hospitable; which is rare these days. The Napoleon with Armenian coffee was the perfect way to end the evening.“

But getting really good BBQ in CA is a challenge unless you know about the Hangry Herd where we had lunch today. The ribs were excellent, as good as I've had anywhere and the best I've ever had in CA! The brisket was also tender and very good. “I have been to this restaurant several times and am never disappointed. The food is fantastic and the service is personable and attentive. The ribs, chicken and tri tip are juicy and I requested the sauce to be all over the place because its so amazing! I have been in Sacramento a short time but when I moved here a couple years ago and found this place, I have brought everyone I know to eat here because its sooooo good! “Ok, I've been going to this spot (ONLY smoke bbq at all I get) since covid and I have NEVER had anything that but the Best bbq, you owners are bar none the Nices people! Now.... I had a piece of pork rib (end piece) that changed pork ribs forever for me. It had the Perfect flavor, texture, and was just MIND BLOWING! I actually have half of it for later! “I visited the place for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it became a quick favorite of mine. The people at the register are super nice polite and patient. Something you won't find that many of the restaurants nowadays. The food is amazing the chicken is always tender you can cut it with a fork you don't even need a knife and the side dishes are always amazing. I highly recommend this place.“

“Wow!! So glad I stopped in today , had the classic sandwich .. BBQ sauce,beef shoulder(very tender and beautiful smoke flavor)coleslaw, all on a toasted sourdough roll. My side was Grandma's potato salad. Also amazing. Price point was very reasonable because you can tell this is a mom.and pop spot and I'm pretty sure the owner was working the register

“In the 80's I ate here when it first opened. When they closed Mather Air Force Base, I relocated to the east coast. I brought my wife to California for her first visit. While we were in Rancho Cordova visiting Mather, I told her about Golden Bowls. She googled, and said it is still operated by the same family. It was! Johnny, whom I knew in the 80's cooked my food! What an amazing experience! It is a small place tucked in the corner of an old shopping center. Don't let the outside fool you. Golden Bowls is a great value. They are very friendly, accommodating, and clean. Your meal includes a bowl of many meat and vegetable choices and delicious seasonings, get two spoons of garlic, you won't regret it, a bowl of soup, rice, fried wantan, and ice cream at the end. We might go back tomorrow.“

“I am a person who loves all ethnic food all different countries I am tired of people that I hang with always wanting the same thing over and over and over at McDonald's Taco Bell exedra etc there's so much more but today while doing laundry I have found my favorite store ever they have the best meat they have the best cheese I thought the cheese has mold on it and it wasn't it was really really good the best bread you also can order your barbecue the day before and pick it up the next day they start their barbecue at 12:00 p.m. they have so much I bought all this today baklava everything I was going in just to buy one thing and I end up buying $100 worth of stuff plus this cross keychain the man gave me for free today and I feel honored and I just want all of you to know to come here off coloma across from viva thank you“

The mgt Kien/Kenny was very accommodating with our reservation, running a slide show in our private room and the lobby while our guests arrived. The seafood pancakes, desert, and spinning the prize wheel were unexpected treats. Some may think it's pricey but when I consider that for the price I would pay for a basic Rib Eye dinner elsewhere, I can have as much Rib Eye, as well as a variety of other meats, chicken, shrimp, sides as I can possibly eat, it's very reasonable. Most of our group were 1st timers, so the cultural experience of new foods, cooking at your table the way you like, made for a unique experience. Our group of 20 something yr old punk rockers had a lot of fun, the service and food were excellent. We'll be back...ps. call ahead to gauge the crowd and bring an appetite.“

There’s a mention in the reviews about quality, as I was eating my meal I thought this is the best quality spare rib I’ve ever had. Personal preference possibly, but it reminded me of my childhood eating in Hawaii. Not many fast food restaurants can take you home in memories.“

The welcome was so warm it almost felt like a family reunion, except nobody was asking me about my job or why I look tired. The whole room had a lovely, steady hum of people genuinely enjoying themselves, and I found myself smiling for no particular reason other than being there.

By the end of the meal I was full, content, and already planning my next excuse to come back. It’s not every day you find a spot that nails both the food and the feeling, but this one does it with an easy, unforced charm. I left in that happy, slightly dazed state that only a really good meal can give you, and I’m still thinking about it.“
