“Love love loved this place. It's a cute little restaurant inside a grocery store. They have outdoor seating but we were in in a snow storm, so had to manage with the limited space indoors. But the food and the people were so good. My husband took the leaf eater and I took the teriyaki udon noodle soup. Both were Yum. We even took a pesto baguette to-go. Everything about this place is to fall in love with. ?

Vegetarian options: There are quite few options for vegetarians in sandwiches and noodle soups.. Plus many salad options.“

“We had an excellent dinner at Bite. The stuffed peppers, cauliflower and halibut tacos were all delicious. There are so many more amazing entrees to try. The bartender, Benjamin was so friendly, fun and made us wonderful cocktails. Our night was made even more special by meeting Kenneth, the Chef. He was so friendly and gracious. We were able to tell him directly how amazing each of our entrees were. We highly recommend Bite for an excellent dining experience, and will definitely going back there again when we are in Tahoe.“

“I've been working in Truckee and I hate eating out. But this place makes food like it's home cooked. If you eat here early between 5:30am-7:00 you a discount on your food. I highly recommend getting the gumbo as a side. I've been telling all of my coworkers about this place. They tried it and they loved it. You won't be disappointed if you do.“

“We just had our anniversary dinner here. How does this restaurant not have a Michelin star? Some of the most incredible food we have ever had and it’s here in Truckee! We have been most disappointed with the truckee food scene especially for what it costs up here, but Trokay is absolutely worth the hype, expense, and your time. The flavors of every course were put together masterfully. I just wish we had gotten it together enough to come here sooner, what a gem to have in town. I hope anyone that is a foodie or just wants to be blown away by some amazing food/ flavors makes it to this restaurant. You will be impressed! The owners are amazing, just look at those resumes, and the service was wonderful. Definitely will be coming back!“

“I was searching for food that was not crowded, admittedly I was overwhelmed by the weekenders that flock from all over cities that were crammed in the shopping district. I spotted a church building with a small sign that said, cafe open, as I was making my way out of town with haste. Alas, I found exactly what I needed. Score, big time. It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. “let me tell you something. I grew up in Sun Valley. Tahoe is part of me. My sister called the night before. They didnt take reservations. But, we told them what was up. my sisters n I planned a weeks trip for my mother's 78th birthday. We hadn't all been all together since my littlest sister was 4... 36 yrs later we are all in one place. Our mother wanted to see her friends. Basically our second set of parents growing up. We pretty much pretended we were nonchalant about it. Their daughter n us put a scheme together to surprise them all. Weeks of planning. The night staff left a note for the morning staff. They open at noon. The party of three showed up at noon... us, the party of six showed up 10 minutes fashionably late. So we could surprise n give our elderly parents arrhythmia.The staff was awesome! Table ready, James our waiter was spectacular...the food.... awesome. Not many restaurants would be asking as people came in... are you the party of 9? lol my sister from another set of parents...as her mom confused said " no we are a party of 3" and her daughter leaned back and whispered ..." yes we are the party of 9. but they don't know shhhh!" it was spectacular! Thank you to the staff... you all rock! I hope if we ever make it back and you're still are rocking the vibe we got today, we will be there. You all take care of your staff. Today this place made our moment so special. We cant say Thank you enough.“

“What a treat to have a local owned and run coffee shop that does NOT dilute their drinks! Having returned from Bend Oregon, where you would think one could get a great Chai Latte - every local and commercial place I went served watered-down Chai Lattes - so dissapointed - and it seems to be trending. I realize how hard businesses are struggling - but I would rather pay more and get a creamy tasty latte - then a watered down one I end up throwing out. “So. Many. Flavors. The ice cream was delicious and the staff was very generous with the scoop size. There's a nice little patio outside where we were able to sit and enjoy our ice cream. Highly recommend the chocolate dipped waffle cone with peanuts!“

“Gourmet pizza! We love coming here whenever we are in town. Family owned business and the owner is a wonderful person. We had the pleasure to meet him 3 winters ago. I am so glad how this place gets more and more popular!!

Taste and ingredients are great. The temperature control on the pizza is on point. Price on root beer is so good! Can’t beat that.
One thing to note, it does take long time to get the pizza, if you are in a rush, you can either call ahead to order or try this place when you have time to enjoy. It took us about 45mins to get our pizza a few weeks ago.

“The steaks were fantastic, we had the Filet and Ribeye. They were cooked perfectly, and I order a rare plus, done perfect (most places don’t even know what I’m talking about). The service was also excellent and quick.

Didn’t love that it is in a casino, which smells of smoke. No smoking in restaurant though. The restaurant is very small, but cozy.“

“A bike event on Sunday turned into a cold, rainy, windy, miserable day. We went to The Dam Cafe for hot chocolate and got so much love! The owner not only welcomed the wet, muddy riders in, she put out space heaters and wrapped us in blankets! Amazing! I was so cold and was warmed both physically and emotionally by the kindness. The food and drink where delicious. Can’t say enough good things. A little cottage of heaven in Tahoe City!“

“We ordered (1) eggs (over medium) and bacon, potatoes, sourdough toast and (2) build your own omelette with mushrooms, pepper jack, spinach and onions,, fresh fruit (which was excellent) sourdough toast. Service was excellent and fast. The food was good although the over medium eggs could have been cooked a bit more. We'll definitely come back.“

“The best part of this restaurant is it's environment and it's dog friendliness. We always go with Ares our JRT and you often see other dogs, on the patio. Food is good too, but I actually like my own cooking of quality meat in general.“
