“This place is an old school Korean restaurant but the food is excellent. As someone who recently moved from Koreatown LA to a gateway city, I had to find my go to Korean restaurant and I think this is one of my favorite places. We like to get the Uhndaegoo jorim (braised black cod). Some of our other favorites are the dahk gae jang, as well as the bohtsahm. The atmosphere is very modest and simple, but this is the kind of place that suits me.

I highly recommend this place both for Korean traditionalists as well as non-Koreans who just want some really good quality Korean food.“

“I came to the cafe for the first time in the 30+ years I lived near thr LA/OC county line. The place is very quaint. I was with a group of senior citizens from our churches monthly men’s breakfast meeting. Service is excellent, food great and coffee really good. We will be back next month.

Salsa is Chunky with the perfect amount of kick from the spiciness. The cheeeesss pull ! (I like to cut or pull my burritos in half , this one was a pull)

“CASH ONLY. French Toast Combo eggs, bacon $12. That’s unheard of it was delicious service was superb. I just wish there were some signs pointing it was cash only as cash is tight right now. I get it though they can keep the cost down haven’t been to a cash only joint in years.“

So parking might be a challenge, the parking lot on sight is a bit condensed, we lucked out getting a parking space, but had to back in to the parking spot due to limited space. It seems, if you have a larger party, it may be a wait to be seated. Since there was only two of us, we were seated right away. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Seating area was a little tight, but they have fans circulating the air, so it made it tolerable. High energy music playing, but not overwhelming, nice background music-
From observation, presentation of the plates and showmanship was top notch. Portions of food were adequate. And quality of food was above average . There were flights of coffee and margaritas from what I observed. French toast and pancakes looked very appetizing and festive ( I’ll be trying them on a future visit). Overall a good experience and I have plans on returning to try other dishes. For this visit, we had the chilaquiles and the eggs divorciados. The chilaquiles were flavorful and filling, with plenty on the plate. The divorciados ,served with half a baked (menu stated baked potato but didn’t specify whole or half),had a great presentation and were good and flavorful- however being that I have a larger appetite than most, I could have used a little more on my plate. But overall a good experience and, I’m planning on future visits.“

“Fire…that’s what my 10yr old granddaughter says to say when things are really cool and delicious. So Firehouse Cafe is Fire 🔥 and I have to say my Chicken Cobb Wrap was off the charts delish!!! It was huge and had to take half of it home. It came with fries and I ordered the seasoned fries that were like a steak fry and cooked to perfection. My mom and Dad eat there all the time and love it. Dad says oatmeal is the best and it looked creamy and came with fruit, brown sugar and raisins. Mom had Cobb salad and it was so huge she couldn’t finish it. Everything was fresh. The waitstaff was so attentive and for being so crowded I was shocked how fast our food came out. We wanted for nothing except a couple of “to go boxes” and that was it. The only and I mean only thing I would say would downgrade a 1/4 star would be it’s a bit noisy when they wash the dishes up front and that is the worst of it and can be over looked cause the food and service are so fire. It’s really great to have a family owned neighborhood breakfast and lunch place that has something for everyone and when you’re there you are treated with kindness and you are really cared about. “I LOVE their ordering and pay feature. You scan a barcode and open a tab. You can order and pay right from your phone. We were a large group-10 people so the great part was not having to figure out whose card we were going to use, zelleing all over gods green earth, who had what, etc. The only drawback is that we were all talking and some people ordered later than others so our food didn’t come out together but that was more on us. The breakfast food was beautifully plated and so good. I had the red velvet waffles, potatoes, cup of fruit and ABC juice (apple, beet, carrot) I shared everything and was still full. My bill was $41 with tip. The service was very friendly. They were able to accommodate our large group but I’m not sure I would recommend a large group because it’s a small restaurant. The parking was okay on Saturday morning. It’s free but that little street gets busy. I didn’t use the restroom so I don’t have comments about that. They are only open for breakfast then close at 11am and reopen later for Indian fusion food. I looked at a menu - and could smell the food. It smelled delicious. Will definitely be going back.“
