“I stumbled upon this place about two months ago, and I’m so glad I did!

First off, the chef is incredibly down to earth and friendly. You can tell he’s truly passionate about what he does and it absolutely shows in his food. Hands down, this is the best chicken I’ve ever had. The flavors are amazing, everything is fresh and it’s all made to order.

I wish I had a photo to share, but the food is so good I never even get the chance to take one before digging in! This has quickly become a weekly lunch date for my husband and me and we look forward to it every time.”

“My BF lived in Oakland for a couple of decades and never been here; so we thought we’d give it a try. Seems quite authentic, though we couldn’t quite stomach the fermented pork sausage. The fried version was good of course. Jeo Pa Dach was excellent, as was the quail. We’ll come back to try other dishes! It’s a small, simple, no frills restaurant.”

We ordered a variety of dishes, including dhai bata dev puri, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, kulchas (onion and paneer), chole masala, and kadai paneer. The service was excellent, and the food was simply amazing. The meat was tender and flavorful, while the chaat was a delightful burst of taste. The kulchas were soft and fluffy, and the butter chicken was perfectly balanced, not too sweet. Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience.”

“Went in and got the Italian, bag of chips and a can soda with 10% tip came out to $22.50+-
All out of the soft rolls. Had the Dutch crunch and I asked for it to be toasted which they forgot to do. Bread was cold dense and chewy. The rest was on point. No napkins in the bag though. So excellent drippy sandwich needs napkins. Plus no in place tables to sit at? That's why the less stars. I will try again though but I guess I will be clearer? Give them a try. Also forgot to take a photo but my sandwich tracked with the other photos.”

“Incredible chai and excellent service. Chatted with the person behind the counter for a bit and he was so nice and gave me a bit of the history as to why there are more and more yemeni cafes popping up (I lived here many years ago and was back to visit). He recommended the chai over the house latte and it was a solid one. They make it on the spot so it’s literally boiling hot. I had it to-go and part of me thought the cup was going to melt and hello microplastic! If any that’s the only thing for me, not a criticism per se, but it took 20 mins for it to cool down enough to take a sip. Delicious though! Lots of people working with their laptops, and some mingling. Seems like it is a neighborhood hub.”

“I went here with a friend yesterday and ordered the combo plate with brisket; cornbread and yams for my 2 sides. My friend had the chicken sandwich which was so juicy she said she would need a shower after she got home.🤣 she had the lemon cheesecake and I had the plain. They both were delicious! I live in Concord but will be returning here often. In addition to the terrific food the staff has high energy and so fun to talk with.”

You get to pick your own ingredients and spice level, and they stir-fry everything to perfection with that addictive numbing-spicy mala flavor. Portions are generous, perfect for sharing, and prices are fair for the quality.

The medium spice has a nice kick, but if you love heat, go for the higher levels—it’s legit spicy! Service is quick and friendly, and the restaurant has a clean, modern vibe. Definitely a go-to place if you’re craving bold flavors and want a fun, shareable meal.”

“Ate at Golondrinas for the first time tonight. Ordered the special pupusas (zucchini and cheese) which came with a side of slaw plus some spicy sauce it was outstanding. Couldn't help but eat the entire plate of food. Had their green salad which was a very generous portion of incredibly fresh greens with shredded carrots and pepitas. It was a simple but totally delectable salad; easily enough to share if I had been with someone else. My main course was the poblano mole enchiladas with chicken and refried beans -- OMG soooo delicious. The mole was truly one of the best I have eaten! The refried beans were delectable. Felt like I was eating food made by someone who loved me. Highly encourage you to go and enjoy some of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten!”
