“New Owners! Delicious Persian and Pakistani (alternate pages of menu). We had their paneer appetizer). It had big cubes of soft Pakistani cheese in a tomato based cream sauce with finely chopped ginger. Fabulous. We also enjoyed a grilled eggplant with a Persian yogurt cultured from sheep and goat milks. The butter chicken was exceptional: he grills his chicken, chops it, then adds the juicy chunks of meat into his delectable sauce. His ground beef kabob was juicy and tender. I enjoyed an inhouse, freshly made mango lassi. Wow! We have enough leftover to enjoy a shared lunch tomorrow.”

“This is my new favorite Asian restaurant it’s far from home but so worth the drive. From the decor to service to the amazing food…. I can’t say how refreshing it is to be able to eat clean healthy Asian cuisine. The owner is Bill and I’ve met him twice now. He’s passionate about his restaurants, yes I said restaurants plural. He let me know there’s one in Eldorado Hills and Folsom as well as this one I’m reviewing in Citrus Heights on Sunrise. It’s beautiful, clean, and the food is so very delicious! “This place is a true gem! My husband and I have ate here twice now and we have NOT been disappointed. Our first time there he ordered a burger of some sort and I got the grilled chicken sandwhich in a lettuce wrap. Both were absolutely delicious. Our second time around he got the pesto crepe with fries, and I got the Mediterranean crepe with salad. We both agreed that my crepe was better, despite our love of pesto, but both were good. The fries and salad hit the spot as well, mostly because their ranch dressing is fantastic. Prices were definitely reasonable. I look forward to trying other things on the menu. Whether you want savory or sweet there's something for everyone!”

“If you're looking for a new cafe to try out in Citrus Heights, you have to check out Greenhouse Cafe! This place is fantastic, and I cannot recommend it enough. First of all, the banana nut muffin is absolutely delicious. It's the perfect blend of flavors and is moist and fluffy. I would go back just for this muffin alone! But there's so much more to try at Greenhouse Cafe. The menu is full of amazing options, from breakfast items like avocado toast and breakfast sandwiches to salads, sandwiches, and more. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with high-quality ingredients. Beyond the food, I was blown away by the generosity of the owner. I learned that the owner donated a lot of muffins to United Sikhs organization to help feed the homeless. This kind of kindness and generosity is truly admirable, and it only makes me want to support Greenhouse Cafe even more. Overall, if you're looking for a new go-to cafe in Citrus Heights, Greenhouse Cafe is definitely worth checking out. Great food, great service, and a great owner who cares about giving back to the community. I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu!”

“The papaya salad is to die for and the customer service has been great both times I have gone from the asian make owner! My guy friend and I have gone once for dining in and the second time when my guy friend and I got takeout. I can’t stop raving about the papaya salad! It’s a must try and I dream about it in my sleep it’s so good with the noodles and so spicy! Lol. I’m in love and drooling... o baby!!! Lol come here and eat, the other dishes are mediocre and the hot pot we tried the first time wa so so due to the broths we weren’t a fan of and the meat and seafood weren’t of good quality and had gone bad when we had gotten to them in the fridge. Just stick with the papaya salad and noodles and you will be good to go! Eat here and good eating! Cheers!”

“This place has amazing customer service, and the staff are very professional. The prices are also quite affordable, especially since they include a free salad and a breadstick. That said, I found the spaghetti lacking in flavor and a bit tasteless, though the salad was quite good. I’m giving it 4 stars mainly because of the excellent customer service—otherwise, the taste doesn’t really suit me.”

The price may seem a bit crazy at first, but here's the good part. In about 10 minutes or less, they come out with a fresh, hot meal (in my case a super burrito, my family got chimichangas) the size of bricks. Every bite was just an explosion of flavor down to the vegetables, and I think I felt a third eye opening. The price is absolutely worth it once you see the sizes for yourself. “Quaint little, outmoded bar and patio that serves food until 10pm with pool tables & Karaoke. Great bartenders that make you feel at home. The #2 on the menu that consists of two hard tacos and their trademark spicy beans is a perfect size for a small bite to eat, with a cold one. Not sure if people are even going out these days or if it’s the Karaoke group not drawing in the crowds that I’m used to seeing back in the day; but I’m not deducting points for slow business. They have multiple locations, but this local is conveniently centered and is a staple for a very long time.”

“The owner Stevie is AMAZING! We came in with a big party of 6 adults and 6 kids (all under the age of 5) around 8pm. We were looking for a last minute place to host our friends who were visiting us and Stevie truly went above and beyond my expectations! She made sure the adults were taken care of, as well as our kids. She and her dad were very attentive the whole night, even though there was another big party at the same time. She even made sure we knew about their kids section, which has bar stools and a counter full of coloring books, puzzles, books, magazines, playing cards, etc. Our kids were getting restless being at the restaurant, but she took time to talk with them, and entertain them with stickers and knick knacks. She even let them take a toy home! She was just the sweetest. It's hard to find a place that accommodates kids, and would never expect any establishment to bend over backwards just because have kids. But she was just so welcoming to us all. We will definitely be coming back!”

If you love chicken fried steak and gravy, this is the restaurant for you.😋 The breakfast special was chicken fried steak and eggs, you can choose 2 pancakes or 1/2 waffle (I took the waffle, since the name was Country Waffles). The waffle was very good. Not heavy, soggy, or rubbery. The lunch special is a country fried steak and gravy sandwich, finally the dinner special is country fried steak and gravy with mashed potatoes.

If I had a disappointment it was the gravy. It was made with breakfast sausages cut into pieces, not sautéed ground pork. 🤐

“I ordered their Cashew nut chicken from the lunch special. It had lots a veggies and the chicken had a nice flavor and was not chewy like at some other places. It came with a wonton but no sauce. The wonton was not crunchy and not very good. The fried rice was cooked well and tasty. The portion for lunch was good. I wish it was a little less greasy.”

“We visited Tugboat Fish and Chips for the first time and appreciated their nautical vibe. It’s a cozy spot with both booths and countertop dining making it a great place for a quick but high-quality meal. Their counter service was quite and easy.

​Even though their soda fountain was down when we went, they had plenty of canned sodas and Snapple options, so it wasn't an issue at all.

We shared the Seafood Sampler, which came with a generous spread of 2 fish, 3 prawns, 2 oysters, 2 scallops, and a side of fries. The batter was exactly what you want: crispy and light without being overly thick or greasy. We also tried the Shrimp Basket (fries included), which was just as tasty.

The real surprises were the appetizers! We ordered the Lumpia (8 pieces) and Potstickers (10 pieces). The potstickers had glass noodles in them, which is a rare find and made them a real treat.

If you’re looking for a solid fish and chips spot with a unique twist on their sides, definitely give Tugboat a try. Great portions, friendly counter service, and perfectly fried seafood. We’ll be back for more!”

“I really like nations. Ill come in frequently and buy the hamburgers. But im here today not to talk about the food or the service. Instead we need to think about the bathroom use policy. The last few times ive came in the bathroom is foul smelling. It always smells the same. So I assume its the same person that wrecks havoc on that bathroom I mean they really come in and assault it. The smell Lingers out into the sitting area. You cant even go in there to wash your hands with out it ruining your desired to eat. You try to hold your breath the whole time but you'll still smell it in your nostrils. Covering your face with your shirt does nothing at all. Like honestly if its an employee that does that, take that war to Dennys. Go in to Dennys and drop bombs there and come back to work after, Your customers will thank you. You probably could even benefit from seeing a doctor. But if its the same customer that comes in and does that you really should have a talk with the customer about the level of lingering stench they can leave. Tell the number 1 only or say that the bathroom is closed. At minimum get bathroom spray and air the place out after whom ever is doing that. Get shop fans and air it out in no time. Even better make sure the person doing it sees you do that so they get the hint.”

“This is a nice place for fast food type Mexican food. It is not a place where someone takes your order from the table. Instead, you order your food and they bring it to you. That was ok, but once you place your order, that's the last contact you will have with anyone working there. The food is decent. Slightly overpriced. Margaritas are tiny. Just wanted to experience something different, it was OK at best. Nice ambiance, airy setting. Nothing bad to say, but not a restaurant with waiters or waitresses taking your orders.”

It was amazing and so much that it made two meals for me and my husband! Next day went in for their CA roll Thursday special that I got for my daughter. She loved it. They sell various salads and sandwiches too. I've had their BLT w/avocado twice, but the daily specials are the best. Pastries, fruit/yogurt cups, coffee, teas, etc available. The couple that runs the business is very kind. Located inside the hospital, next to the police department and across the street from Sam's Club.”

“My wife and I basically had the place to ourselves when we visited. The person working their made our food fresh and it was delicious, comparable to places like Halal Guys. The person working there was even playing the piano in the restaurant, he asked us if it was okay if he played. We will definitely back again.”

“My first time at Mr Pickles, they have a wide variety of sandwiches, but I chose to make my own. My sandwich was less than $8 and I could only eat half of it, the person behind the counter very pleasant. And the gentleman that rang me up gave me a free cookie!!”

“After coming here for over 20 years, I owe them a review. When I think of Chinese food, this is the restaurant I think of. It’s nostalgia, my family brought me here when I was a kid. As a teen, I’d drive here on Friday nights to pick up dinner. I moved away after high school, but any time I come back to visit family, I want to come here. When I’m at home, I crave this as I have to eat the lesser Chinese near me!

The orange chicken is THE orange chicken for me. It’s super crunchy, perfectly breaded, and the chicken is long and thin which helps it cook better. The sauce is perfection. Never have I ever found an orange chicken at multiple similar Chinese restaurants that has even come close. The walnut shrimp, cream cheese wontons, and won ton soup are also favorites of my family. Even the white rice is my ideal perfect white rice. I’m getting hungry now.

The same people have always worked there, they do their job well but they aren’t always the friendliest, at times. I’m there for the food. Order take out or stop in for 40 minutes, you’ll go home full and happy.”

“I drive by this place every day and finally I stopped to try it out and I got the corn with Cheetos the waffle and ice cream and the mangonada. Everything was pretty delicious.

I think the corn needs more stuff in it. Than again I was maybe thinking it would taste more like elote with Cheetos on it so that maybe why I was a bit disappointed, but than I had the mangonada and omfg. It was the perfect summer dessert honestly. The freeze with the actually sweet mango drizzled in that spicy goodness. If you’re ever overheated and want something cool and delicious just go here seriously if they had alcohol added to that they would have customers out the door.

The service was quick. The guy was very fast at what he does definitely recommend.

“04/15/2023; 7:10 PM unfortunate experience… I came in to pick up my “to go” order. I stated I was there to get my order, I was asked my last name. I gave my last name, and staff member behind the kitchen counter area picked up my bag, looked in the bag, and said, “I will get you a cup for your tea.” Then, the manager behind the Counter abruptly inserted herself into the conversation by saying, “She said the cup is in the bag!” I said that isn’t what I heard. At this time the staff member handed me the cup. The manager was dismissive and made yet another unnecessary comment as if to make herself relevant. (Not sure why she felt so needy) I walked away and said perhaps a Google review is in order, and she said, “Oh, that’s not necessary, and said “have a nice day” in the most disingenuous tone. While all this was transpiring, she was giggling behind the counter with co-workers like a Junior high school girl. I found the laughter to be rude, and clear that my business was both unappreciated and minimized. This experience was definitely an exception from my typical good experiences. Not sure if it was a slow night and she needed to feel involved in a simple transaction. She should FOCUS on her people skills.”
