“The sandwiches are so good and so reasonably priced but I came at 11:50 on a Friday and waited 35 min for 2 sandwiches.

People call ahead and order like 10 things and there seems to only be one or two people in the kitchen so it can get extremely backed up. The really nice gentleman taking orders is very detailed and checks each order which also super slows things down.

Call ahead for your order or come before 11:30, or after 1pm. Otherwise it’s a complete disaster.“

“My favorite drink at Abanico is Pinolillo, which is a traditional Nicaraguan drink made from cacao. Delicious and frothy and yummy with Almond milk.“

“I had a few minutes before I visiting hours at St. Francis Hospital. This was around the corner at Hyde and Bush. The visitors entrance is on Hyde between Pine and Bush while the ER entrance is on Bush between Hyde and Leavenworth. There were a lot of people inside and outside. A line formed shortly after I placed my order. Picked up coffee but their pastries looked good.“

“Visited as it was close to where we were staying and what a find. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and patient. I had never had Indonesian coffee before but was recommended the Kopi Tubruk and I very much enjoyed it. My partner had a Kopi pandan and again, excellent. Busy cafe but a good ambience, relaxed environment and well thought out decor.“

“Food is ok, I got the walnut shrimp sandwich. Love the fusion idea but felt that it lacked the true walnut shrimp flavors (usually a lot more mayo and heavier in taste). The walnuts added a nice texture and the lettuce was fresh. Also got the huckleberry almond cake which was pretty unique and not too sweet. Would recommend this others, but not the shrimp sando“

“One of the rare actual Coffeshops in the neighborhood, with actual Barista. You can get real coffee there, in normal sized cups, and they have all the main types of coffee that you would find in the rest of the world (flat whites, actual espressos etc..)“

“It’s a great little escape from the hustle and bustle of Castro street, just around the corner. I originally tried it as a “Too Good To Go” bargain but I knew this would be a place to bring out of town guests. And I did. And they loved it! The mugs are artsy and the setting is very coffee shop chic. But they are surpassed by the incredible coffee drinks and pastries. I had an oat milk cappuccino that was made to perfection. The three of us ordered different pastries so we could get a sampling of each. EVERYTHING IS GREAT! The pastries are made fresh every day, no day-old stuff served here. Service was great, too. Your best bet is to go for their savory treats like the little meat pies. They have won me as a customer and I will continue to bring guests here before exploring the city.“

Super cozy small shop ran by a local couple. The prices are super cheap and the Chai is delicious! I think it's a house blend. It's a bit sweet but the spices are on point! Highly recommend. 10/10“

“We had food, coffee, and dessert, and enjoyed it all. A nice selection of games, including some more basic games for free. A cozy wood vibe, with beautiful board game art featured on the walls. Their music was fun, too! Wish I could take this cafe to my city!“

“The freaking best. One of my favorite spots in Bernal hands down, especially for breakfast. Great to work at, great to bring friends, to sit alone and read, whatever. Any time. The staff are amazing, the ingredients fresh and real, and fairly varied. Their chai is also especially great. I wish it was dog friendly but even without it's a favorite. I wish I lived just a little closer!“

They were precisely on time, considered our special instructions to give more of a few varieties than others, and were very communicative and lovely throughout the whole experience. Our guests (including several 3-5 yr. olds) LOVED them! 10/10 would recommend.“

“I am Argentine and have tried every empanada spot in the Bay Area. These are by far the most authentic empanadas I have tried outside of Argentina. The dough is homemade and fantastic, the fillings are just like I make them at home. I used to go through the work of making them at home, but after going to Chalos I don’t do that anymore. All the delicious taste without any of the kitchen clean up!! Highly recommend Chalos if you are looking for some delicious Argentine empanadas!“

“Cutest lil cafe steps from the beach! What a morning to grab delicious coffee and a pastry and have a morning meditation by the ocean. They're menu items really taste like what they say as far as coffee flavors. Loved the fermented green tea I ordered! The staff was so nice! Great way to start the morning and we are going again for a pep up in the afternoon!“

“A very cozy place in the financial district. Even though we went on a weekend, there were still a lot of people working there. Their pour over coffee is reasonably priced and they also provide coffee beans in the shop. I like the paintings they have inside. The coffee also comes with a postcard telling us where the coffee beans come from and the history, which I think is very nice. If you like coffee, I recommend giving this place a try.“

They are an amazing family who treated us like we were one of their own when we stayed at a VRBO next door for a week. If you want truly homemade taste and quality, it’s well worth the trip!!“

“Skip the usual chains please; this mom & pop place serves excellent medium roast Peruvian coffee and their lattes are superior to all the franchise shops.
They have all the standard non dairy options plus very fresh and delicious pastries; this goes for both their regular and vegan selections (their vegan oatmeal cookie is perfect).
