“Best Sushi, Omakase, and experience hands down.
These chefs are masters and the nicest guys who put everyone at ease and take your taste buds on an journey of pure joy and deliciousness.
Everything is sooo fresh and top quality. Each bite feels sacred, you can't help but close your eyes when enjoying the symphony of flavors.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars. My only advice: sit at the sushi bar and enjoy the ride :)“

“Love the sushi here it’s the only place I get sushi from. Well worth the price, plate feels loaded. The flavor just melts away and brings me back to Hawaii (my happy place). The staff are always so polite and doesn’t take long to get your order. There is tables inside and outside, it’s really nice and the vibes are always great. Thank you for having the best sushi in town!!!“

“Came here on a Saturday night. Place was busy. Most of the dishes were good. Servers were overall great. Main issue is that food comes out a bit slowly so there can be a wait between dishes. We sat in the patio but somehow diners inside the restaurant who sat down 2-3 dishes after us, caught up and finished before us. Overall took 2.5 hours for the Soichi omakase. There was a heater on the patio if needed which was nice.“

“I’m not much of a reviewer unless an establishment is amazing or the opposite.
I must take the time to let everyone know that this was the BEST fish and sushi that I’ve ever had. It was incredibly fresh and each dish was better than the next. It is most certainly worth the price (although less expensive than some other spots). The drinks were also suberb and service was excellent and genuine.
Don’t be fooled by the exterior appearance. Once you go inside, it’s chic and modern.
Absolutely will give Hane 10+ stars.“

“What a beautiful space. The food is divine and omakase is very well priced here. I’d say if you’re looking to celebrate and need a budget friendly option they definitely have it here!
Their courses were great and quality. Service is impeccable we had the pleasure of being served by Lily and she was the best server I’ve had in a very long time.“

“Kyoto sushi has my heart! I loooove this place. The owners Mike and Maria put their heart and soul into this place and it shows.
This may be the best yellow tail sashimi/nigiri I have had in SD.
Their specialty rolls are out of this world and to top that off, they will make whatever roll you want (as long as they’re not too busy) just tell them your preferences.
This is a weekly spot for me and the misses and whenever family or friends are in town, we will bring them here.“

“The sushi was amazing! We tried the power roll, energy roll, and Mexican roll, and each one was delicious. Sara was super helpful with recommendations since it was our first time visiting. The sushi tasted really fresh, and the rolls were well-made. The atmosphere was also great—very chill and welcoming. Definitely recommend checking this place out!“

“Fresh, absolutely. But let’s start with the basics. The rice is perfect. So many places don’t give any attention to the rice. They have it dialed in. The cuts also show amazing skills. If you are in San Diego and a sushi fan, you have to eat here!“

“Glad to find some Korean food in downtown San Diego. I’m visiting from out of town and was craving comfort food. Quite expensive for fishcake udon soup but it was good. I got the fried Mandu/gyoza because of a special. Usually I don’t buy dumplings when I eat out since they usually taste solid but never wow me. I was surprised I enjoyed them as much, of course the filling is good, but the texture stood out to me! It was so light and crispy - idk if it’s the skin or temperature they fried it but I looooved it. I just Wish they did not charge extra for kimchi, at least for the Korean dishes 😢 Service was good. Unsure if I’d come again for the traditional korean dishes, but I want to try the sushi and ofc get the dumplings. it was very clean and organized inside“

“Easily one of the best sushi experiences I’ve had in Southern California—period. From the moment you sit down, Matoi delivers a curated, thoughtful omakase that’s all killer, no filler. Nothing farm-raised, nothing phoned in—just wildly fresh, high-quality cuts that let the fish do the talking.
And the value? Ridiculous (in the best way). Easily the best bang-for-your-buck omakase in SoCal. You’re getting an elite sushi bar experience without the ego or the four-figure bill.
It was so good I forgot to take photos… and I never forget. That’s how locked in I was. Just me, the fish, and pure happiness.“

“I try the ramen and I loved it! The pieces of meat where big. Next time I will ask for like 79% more vegetables because I do like vegetables. the price was good because if how much meat it had. I hate sushi but love ramen. My whole family loves sushi so I'm happy that I can just drive 5 minutes n not 30 minutes to find a good restaurant. Also they have an area to sit outside in the sun which is a nice option. I left like at 12 noon and it got really full.“

“Sushiroll is a visually stunning restaurant that exudes warmth and a welcoming atmosphere. As soon as I entered, I was struck by its aesthetic charm and commitment to sustainable practices, especially their use of sustainable water. The service was top-notch; our server was not only polite but also incredibly kind, making the experience even more enjoyable.
The food at Sushiroll is a delightful surprise, showcasing a unique blend of Japanese and Mexican flavors that creates a tantalizing fusion. Each dish was crafted with care, and the generous portion sizes left me feeling satisfied. The creative combination of flavors added an exciting twist to traditional sushi that I hadn’t experienced before.
Overall, my visit to Sushiroll was a memorable one, and I can’t wait to return to explore more of their delicious offerings. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a fresh and innovative dining experience!“

“I ordered the Tokyo soul which was great, the fish was fresh and I'm a fan of Serrano peppers but when my veggie Ramen came the waitress did not inform me the kitchen had run out of sprouts and mushrooms so I was served Ramen with Pickles instead“

“Been here three times before and it's always incredible. Service never let our glasses get empty, food was deliver fresh in a timely manner, and had total flexibility on how to pace the meal. Quality is easily worth the higher prices compared to other cheaper sushi restaurants in San Diego. Favorite rolls are the bushido and saucy boi. Great sake selection as well with plenty of fun cocktails, beers on tap, and even a nice NA selection. Will be going back as soon as we can find the time. Absolutely amazing all around.“

“@kinmesd delivered a memorable experience for us. From beginning to end I was in awe with the attention to detail, precision and heart they put into every bite. There was never a moment we weren’t taken care of by the chef’s assistants. It was beautiful to watch a group of people work together, harmoniously, and the reflection that had on the food.
@kinmesd I will be thinking about this meal for a very long time. Thank you for making our anniversary dinner such a special experience.“

“We enjoyed our meal at Downtown Sushi. The sushi fresh and flavorful. We had the baked lango and lion sushi rolls, both excellent. The drinks on the other hand were not good. We went on two occasions and both times the drinks were subpar. They have the wait staff making the drinks instead of an actual bartender, which explains why the drinks are so weak. So overall, excellent sushi, just don't order any alcoholic beverages.“

“Was excited to try Parfais Paris sister in Liberty Station. This is a great concept of to go sushi only. It’s primarily “American style” cut rolls with some sides available like seaweed salad and cucumber sunomono. Both salads were good the portions were generous. The rolls all tasted very good and the fish was fresh. The presentation is excellent which is on boxes created especially for the rolls. This is not the most authentic sushi spot but it’s very good and as a take out option it’s the best of its kind in San Diego that I’ve tried.“

“I’ve been to this sushi spot several times and always appreciated their variety and freshness. However, during my most recent visit, the rice was noticeably stiff and tasted as if it might have been old. Hoping this was just an off day, as I’ve usually enjoyed their food!“
