“Please know that I am a cook and a food connoisseur. My friend and I dined at Corkscrew Cafe last evening. We were blown away! Every dish we ordered exceeded expectations! It was a perfect party of palatable joy! A friend of Christina's had recommended the Meyer's Lemon Prosciutto Pizza. Serious magic on the tongue!!! And the crust... I normally don't eat the crust of a pizza. I devoured every bit. My favorite pizza is a margarita pizza. We shared. It was every bit as delightful as the Meyer's lemon! I'm a calamari snob. HANDS DOWN the BEST calamari on the Monterey Peninsula! Tender, light, fresh Monterey Bay calamari. And they are brilliant enough to serve it with both tartar sauce and a delightful cocktail sauce. You MUST experience the PEAR SALAD! We delightfully sipped LaMarca Prosecco during our meal. The servers were friendly and caring. The pizza cook a genius! We asked if we could bring fresh gluten-free pizza dough and if they would use it to prepare a pizza for Christina's daughter next week. They are happy to accommodate! It definitely without any hesitation is worth the drive into beautiful Carmel Valley!!! I can't wait to go again and again. I have to try their pasta with Bolognese and their short rib...♥️♥️♥️“

“This place loves garlic. Garlic fries are super garlicky and the Gilroy Pasta is too. That pasta had some great flavors but was missing something. Their California Cuban is very good. What really is the best is their beans that comes with the tacos - seriously great.

Tried their key lime pie and it was 2 stars. Not tart enough and not limey enough.

“It saddens me to see any negative reviews in the slightest for this little diner. I won’t sit here and say it was a Michelin restaurant but that’s one of the things I loved about it, I didn’t feel like I was at just some restaurant, it felt cozy, homely, and instilled a nostalgia that sends one back to their childhood. “This is one of the better restaurants we ate at during our stay in the Carmel area. Let's start with the service which was excellent. Outdoor patio seating faces the pond with its fountain and distant hills. Of the items we tried (we ended up returning several times) the Tuna & Satsuma Mandarin and the Petite Filet were standouts. My husband claims they make the best hamburger on the coast!“

“This place is in the Embassy Suites- that’s important for info on atmosphere and finding it! Really nice ambiance- we ended up here as it was the only place open past nine and we had just gotten into town and needed dinner and drinks and got both here with very friendly service. You can sit away from the bar area if the hotel bar is hoppin’.Limited menu- but totally sufficient and nice representation of local produce.

Parking: Says paid parking only- we are t hotel guests so hoping for the best ?“
