“Amazing food and service. You have to get a seat outside with their fireplaces - the atmosphere is amazing by the ocean. Everything tasted incredible, for me it was the wild mushrooms they used. Our server Chris was wonderful too! Really looking forward to coming back.“

“Quiet little grill hidden across the street from the entrance to Spyglass Golf Course. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a great variety of snacks and drinks. Right on the golf course so you have great views from the inside, and outside, seating.The staff was great. “So fortunate to live in the area and experience the hidden treasures in our backyard. Our server Augustine was hands down one the best servers we had the pleasure of meeting in a while. The weather was perfect to enjoy the deck. This was my second time visiting. The first time I had lunch which was just as good as our breakfast that morning. “The coastal kitchen was a wonderful experience. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. At each course they explained in great detail what the particular flavor characteristics were of the outstanding prepared food that we enjoyed We did the wine pairing, which was also quite a lot of fun. I admit, I enjoy a certain style of wine. But with an open mind was able to understand a nuances of different variables, as it was paired with food. The Somalia had a great deal of knowledge, and was very skilled at explaining a nuances of the wines we enjoyed. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, pretty pricey, but well worth it if you can afford that type of thing“

“Aubergine is the best fine dining experience in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The food, presentation, ambience, and service are all of the highest caliber and well-deserving of the recognition earned by this restaurant. Aubergine was more than accommodating of my personal request for plant-based options in lieu of their traditional prix fixe menu, and they exceeded my expectations. I would have to travel to New York to another world-renowned restaurant to receive the same level of consideration and experience a similar level of culinary excellence. My wife was able to enjoy the traditional prix fixe menu options while I was thrilled by the creativity of the kitchen. She informed me later that this was the first time Aubergine had catered to a complete plant-based course for dinner. Absolutely magnifique. We were also introduced to a terrific Sauternes by the sommelier, a novelty we hadn't explored before, but now embrace. “A wonderful breakfast spot! Although this place is small, they can handle the constant flow of customers. The location itself feels very comforting and welcoming. They offer traditional breakfast along with some Mexican inspired dishes. My family enjoyed our meals, coffee and chia lattes. The service was excellent. For only two people working the tables, they are quick and accurate. Definitely come here when you’re in the area and wanting a nice hot breakfast.Parking: Free street parking with 90 minute limit“

Mom asked about the "sunroom in the brochure", and... Since we were determined to do anything that Mom wants, I worked up the courage to ask Rachel and Natalie to figure out what room my mother was talking about and seat us there.Typically, I am quite shy about inconveniening people, but... Today was different. I just found out that my elderly mother had a doctor's visit that was life-changing.So... I found a moment to tell Rachel and Natalie that I was deaing with a "life moment regarding mom's health". Rachel and Natalie immediately found a table for us in the glass atrium that my mother had seen in a brochure. I was very, very touched by how quickly these two lovely staff members worked to make my mom's wish come true. Their kindness and sincerity were just so apparent and obvious.We took dozens of photographs of ourselves, my laughing mom, and the beautiful glass atrium. The food was delicious. I drank too much. There were some tears and laughter.The beautiful setting. The delicious food. The wine. “We have gone to Rocky's Cafe many times and always enjoy the experience! We choose a special table outside for al fresco dining that is heated. We typically enjoy breakfast there and I love their veggie omelette and my husband enjoys the sea food omelette. The service is excellent and our waitress is always friendly and professional. We love that this restaurant was named for the owner's dog...and we know that the owner has also been a long term professional chef at a top restaurant in Pebble Beach as well. This experience absolutely reflects in the delicious food. Highly recommended!“

The one quibble I have is that the service is a bit too American: the food arrives very quickly and the plates are cleared before everyone has finished eating. When we told the waiter we weren't ordering dessert, he had the prepared bill in his hand to present to us. We purposely reserved at a late for Monterey hour of 8 PM, so that we wouldn't be rushed out.“

Breakfast portions were were large, and my husband and I could have split something if we could have agreed on what to eat. Hollandaise sauce was spot on, NOT fake cheesy sauce. Took home leftovers. “This is a great pub, honestly one of the best pints of Guinness I've had in the US. We had some snack food, fries and calamari which was excellent. There is a separate games room with a small shuffle board and a fussball table to keep the kids entertained. Will definitely be back when in the area!“

Desiree even accommodated us by taking me to look at the table that was available to ensure that worked for my family and let me know there was another option if it did not work for us. I have to say I have never had a restaurant employee treat me that good. I really felt welcomed and taken care of.When we sat down we were assisted by waitress Autumn who was wonderful herself. Autumn was very friendly, attentive and had good knowledge of the menu. Exactly how you would like your server to be. She took very good care of us our whole visit. “Great friendly brunch / lunch spot with great food. We've tried both the breakfast and lunch items and all were outstanding. The potato pancake with prosciutto and fromage blanc (get there before 11am and they run out) was creative and delicious as were the chilaquiles and lobster roll. It was a place that served verve coffee & had these bomb chicken & waffles with country gravy. I always wanted to go back to that place but found out they closed. However I did some digging & found out that that former owner owned THIS restaurant & they also serve Verve coffee (which is the best coffee) & made the same chicken & waffles. We decided to go here & it did not disappoint, it was once again one of the best breakfasts I have ever had.I’m not sure how it makes sense to put together fried chicken, sweet syrup, slightly spicy country gravy & a waffle to make a perfect breakfast but it just works & is I believe a marvellous example of God’s good common Grace.There are many things that will keep me coming back to Monterey, & this place is definitely one of them.Their crab Benedict was also pretty good, & its right next to a gold course & you have a view of the ocean.“

I knew good things always take a little work, so I was cool with that.The restaurant itself was small, but my gf is also small, and she’s great, so I assumed the same.When we ordered, Me and my gf both got the chicken and waffles. We figured, why not? Right?When it came to the table, it was a pretty big plate. Huge fluffy waffle with a couple thick pieces of chicken. I didn’t know where to start. So I panicked and just dumped the syrup over the whole thing. It was a great idea, which usually doesn’t happen for me so early in the morning. It was amazing. We really enjoyed it, but bummed that we heard it was closing down. Good stuff here“

“So I'll start with the positivity."The works" bacon breakfast burrito was excellent, potatoes cooked perfectly with great flavor and homemade salsa flavor bomb. Wife said her breakfast tacos were delicious same positivity on her food.Moving on to the drinks, my wife loved the orange juice however $6 for about 8oz is a little bold. I bought a $7 latte which didn't offend me by price because in all the pictures it came in a Bowl! And I was actually excited about that however they didn't have any clean bowls at the time so they gave me a regular mug which was at least only have the size and charged me full price.When I asked about it she explained and said she would remake it for me but never did, and still charged full price.I can get by all that but my son ordered the buttermilk pancakes and they didn't give him syrup we had to ask not that big of deal, then after he said he was done eating my wife went to sample his pancakes and noticed the middle of the cakes still had batter in them, not cooked fully.My son is only 11 and just didn't know any better he thought because it said buttermilk that that was normal lol, the restaurant took off $6 from the $12 price and gave him a free cookie however, one staffer tried to suggest they may have been a little undercooked I don't appreciate trying to justify it just comes off as a disagreement and there was nothing to dispute.Also if you want to make amends for a partially raw pancake you mark it completely off the bill, especially considering I only got a half coffee ?.If I could go 3.8 I would again our items tasted great just some key misses in decorum.“

“Whenever we are in Monterey this is a must stop. We really enjoy the outside patio, it’s always a thrill when a jet landing at the nearby airport buzzes the parking lot.This time for lunch I had a fried chicken sandwich and my wife had fish and chips. We started out with calamari but there was a mixup with the timing and the plates came out before the app. The manager came out and said they would re-make the plates when we were ready rather than park them under a heat lamp. That was really a nice touch.“
