“Michelin star restaurant inside Hilton Hotel. Maybe the "Michelin star" has bumped up my expectations, it's a bit overrated. Pretty good neo-Thai cuisine but definitely not the most outstanding SE Asian restaurant in the area. Also, if you're not parking with the hotel, parking and walking in the area, which is famously known as Tenderloin, is a bit rough... Not really the restaurant's fault but my advice to anyone who is planning to visit - be extra careful...Parking: High risk area“

“If you are visiting San Francisco to see the beauty that can be seen in the Bay Area - this here is a MUST SEE and stop for spicy food, Thai food, and Asian cuisine enjoyers altogether. The owner Bobby (Jahanvir) has made Thai food really well and he rocked my socks off. The papaya salad has a perfect blend of herbal, acid, and fish sauce flavor with the kafir lime. I test any Thai restaurant's traditional sense through whether or not their papaya salad is any good, and this place felt truly Thai to me as if the flavors from Bangkok were teleported to SF.The pineapple fried rice felt like a killer fusion - raisins with an Iranian twist, the turmeric from Jahanvir's Bengali side, and the chicken marination in lime and South Asians spices with the overall cooking execution in the Thai fashion was tasty. I didn't find myself a fan of pad thai much, because I didn't order it, but as a family we enjoyed all the dishes. I would recommend pad thai with tofuu if you're vegetarian TBH.But all in all, I was especially in love with the pad ke mao at the Thai spicy level as well as the panang curry. Everything here is made with love, and this place keeps food execution on par. You must come here and have the mango with sticky rice as well!!!! Cheers Jahanvir thank you brother !“

“If there’s any complaints possible is that the Chef’s pick was too much food. The lamb Massaman curry was unbelievable. It is quite possibly the best thing I’ve ever eaten. It was a fantastic meal with fantastic service. You cannot go wrong eating here.“

“The food here was really good: the Grilled Beef Curry and the Umami Spicy Shrimp stood out for me, while the Pork Larb, Squid with Salted Egg Sauce, and Brussels Sprouts were above average as well. Fried chicken was just ok in terms of flavor, but was really crispy, which I liked. Staff provided good service, atmosphere was good for conversation, and the prices were reasonable. The only downside is that serving sizes were quite small, and my recommendation is to get a good amount of rice to pair with the dishes. 5 out of 5.“

“Food was amazing and fresh. Great service too! Full sit down dining and table service. Loved the Thai fusion for breakfast. I had the tom yum burrito and husband had the fried chicken Benedict, both were amazing. Loved the fresh greens with the Benedict.“

“Such a hidden gem - One of the best Thai restraunts Iv'e had in the Bay Area! They have a main menu that mostly contains the more standard Thai dishes that might see at a lot of other places. But they also have a hidden menu with some really unique Thai dishes that I haven't seen very often here but had when I visited Thailand and this brought back tons of memories! For the 2 of us, we got the fresh raw shrimp appetizer, papaya salad with blue crab, crab omlette, and stir fried morning glory. All the dishes were yum, but the first 2 were quite spciy! Servers are also super friendly and price is very reasonable for SF especially considering its location in the Marina. Highly recommend!“

“The noodle soup is outstanding. The Thai and rice dishes tasted good. However, they were very uncreative. For my taste, a lot of rice and few vegetables. The staff and service are great. The ambience is simple and rustic, but not traditional or over-the-top.Still a good place for a light meal.Vegetarian options: It is possible to use tofu instead of meat.“

“I've always loved Osha! I'm a forever fan. I've been patronizing OSHA since my student days. They started on Geary St. and have since expanded to seven locations in San Francisco. Over time, returning to OSHA stirs up many memories. If you visit Napa, don't forget to check out their newest location. Even my mom was impressed. I highly recommend it!“

“Great place - owned by the same family who operated the wonderful Thailand restaurant locations in Mill Valley and Novato, both since closed. The only place I’ve seen to have their house-made spicy sweet sauce that accompanies the barbecue plates. Worth nothing - Do not skip their Thai iced tea, it’s the real deal.“

“The BEST voila french toast I've ever had! Ordered the combo with 2 eggs and spicy honey bacon and the Bavocado omelette. All our food was really good and so glad we stopped at this place for breakfast while in town. Definitely a must try and when we come back to SF, we will definitely come here again. The inside is also a French ambiance which was really nice. If you haven't tried this place or if you're in town, TRY IT.“

“Chef Jetto catered a beautiful Thai spread for my 35th birthday. Ordering was a breeze and we were able to schedule a convenient delivery to my home in Yomitan. She is a delight, and her food cannot be beat! Absolutely delicious. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“This is a great value, and a relaxing dining experience tucked away in a dingy alley downtown. There are some a la carte appetizers, but dinner is prix fixe - a "set" that is centered around a protein (beef, chicken, fish, vegetarian) but comes with about 6-7 dishes total, including dessert. Regular set is $25; specials are $38. We ordered an appetizer to start, which was SO GOOD (brussell sprouts and pork belly), but there is so much food is in the set meal we were really stuffed. Good selection of nonalc bevvies, wines by the glass, but only one beer (Singha!). Room is really lovely oasis in an otherwise dingy alley downtown. Service was a little rushed - seems to be just their standard approach -- which is great if you are trying to get in an out but if you want to not feel pushed out suggest you be very clear about not wanting everything on top of each other, eg, they brought out our main set almost immediately after the appetizer, and the dessert while we were still eating dinner (?) - I actually told them to take the dessert back and serve after we were completely done with dinner.“

“Still on top! I absolutely adore this place. Every time I place an order I feel like I matter to them. It's the little things like remembering my favorite little side of spicy chilies and fish sauce or waiting for me a little after hours when I'm running late from my class that really set this place on top. The food is excellent (and they know how to make it actually spicy which already earns them gold stars from me) but it's their kindness in remembering the details even on Togo orders that really bring me back each time. The interior is beautiful inside and a perfect stop for a lunch or dinner date. Go go go!!!!“

“Excellent food with perfect taste and flavors. The price was right and more than reasonable. The quantity was substantial as well. We had the pad Thai and the green curry. We enjoyed both as it’s been difficult to find a good Thai place in the city.“

“My friend and I came here for lunch and it never disappoints. I have been here numerous times and the service is always great. I have ordered Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Basil Duck here and they are all super flavorful and came in decent portion. The spice they put is heaven for spicy lover because they somehow made spicy food flavorful. We will be back again to try other fishes.“

“Such great food and people. We were hungry driving around looking for that magical parking spot next to an acceptable eating spot bingo! We found it all at Gai. Unsure of what kinda of cuisine I said take the chance they’ve got a chicken on the sign so it’s actually food. And boy was it good. Delicious. Freshly prepared Asian Thai or Vietnamese food. I got the Original Chicken Rice bowl with side of broccali. My friend got the salad with Tofu. Both great. He sauces are fresh and flavorful. One is quite hot which I love. I recommend it. And as we sat there from 1:30 pm to 2:30, there were multiple to go orders being picked up. I think there were about 5 orders at a time rotating. Fresh Fast Full of Flavor. We hit the jackpot!“

“A fusion restaurant with fun dishes and flavors. We were a group of three and ended up splitting the chicken and waffles, hot pot, and Gatai (Thai breakfast with minced chicken and egg). Everything is really tasty with a slight Thai twist to it. Our favorite was the chicken and waffles as their waffles tasted more like Belgian waffles. They have a bottomless brunch mimosa which can be great if you want to get the party started early. But it also means it can get a bit loud. Their non-alcoholic drinks also looked good. I had the Thai iced tea which was a bit on the sweeter side but just the jolt I needed.I’d come back if I was in the area, esp for the waffles.“

“I love House of Thai. Their food is 200% authentic and delicious. Their menu has so many items that you don't find in any other Thai restaurants (I dare say) in the entire United States of America. I grew up in Thailand, so I know Thai food very well. Eating here takes me home every time. OMG, every bite is so full of flavor!!! Best Thai food in town! Better than the Thai food in CA's infamous Thai Town in Hollywood, Southern CA.Tom Yum“

“Grew up in San Rafael and have been eating here for years. Sandy and Abby run a customer-centric family business with pops in the back chef’n it up.Nice on a sunny day outside. All curries are bomb, squash and veggies cooked thoroughly. Sauce is thick. Mango sticky rice is always on point. Thai iced tea hits even in summer. Don’t rush them, it’s worth the wait.“

“Cozy, petite Thai eatery on Lombard, designed to evoke a manicured side street in Bangkok.Tom Kha Soup, a coconut milk broth wonderfully fragrant from lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, galangal and chili — perfect with a side of rice noodles dipped in.While tasty, the price point seems to reflect more the neighborhood than the kitchen’s unique ability. Nothing far from the classic standard.“

“If you want Authentic Thai food, this is the place to go. It's a hole in the wall, and the downside is that they only take cash. Their silver noodle salad is yummy and their eggplant tofu is always delicious! Curries are good too, try it out!“

“Friday after work, I passed by this place and decided to check it out. The restaurant environment is Thai-style, giving me a peaceful and cozy feeling. I ordered basil chicken and a Lao orange drink. The basil chicken dish is very delicious, a bit of spicy though. The waitress is very pleasant and warm. I noted most customers are young. But I love it as a middle age woman“

“place was a little cold and empty on a Sunday but glad they stay open with so little business. food was good. still think it is more like the way thai should be normally not an exception, bay area accepts too much marginal thai, but it is good. got one of the fishes, lots of taste.“
“A San Francisco favorite for Thai food! The curries are thick and rich. The texture and flavor of the noodles are spot on! The prices are very affordable and just an all around solid take out spot or easy to find a table for a casual experience.“

“Dear Diary - a friend recommended this place as I was a visiting member. I'm very glad that they recommended this place. The only thing I would say is that their dishes aren't as spicy as I'm used to getting back home, but the flavor is amazing! I wanted to try everything! I know I'll have more trips over here and will definitely try different things on the menu next time!“
“The food was delicious. I had the Chinese sausage and fried rice, two egg rolls, and a mini Tom Yum soup. The soup was a bit spicy because it had chili sauce in it. The rice was done to perfection. The egg rolls were crisp and dissolved into the perfect mush when chewing. The dining room is shared by Seoul Soup, Seoul Bunsik, and Katsuya Japanese Premium Cutlet. Yucatown, a Mexican place was out of business. There are public restrooms and adequate table cleaning staff. All around an excellent place to eat.“

“No complaints here. We went at an off time so the restaurant was pretty empty and we were served in a timely manner. Inside it's clean and fun thai decorations and paintings around. Not too much else to say about that they also had mints and candy when you leave which I appreciate a lot. For food I got the khao soo and let me tell you they do not skimp on portions. All my friends foods were very well sized given the price and I took basically another meals worth of khao soo back home. The soup it's self was ver flavorful and rich broth and the noodles were chewy and a good feel. They use chicken breast pieces I believe instead of bone in chicken legs. The mango sticky rice was a classic they drizzle some sweet coconut syrup on top as well“
“Everything we had was great! Shrimp spring rolls were fresh and flavorful, I liked how the shrimp were actually slightly seasoned and the sauce was definitely homemade, tasted great on its own with some white rice. Their yellow curry and pad Thai were great as well. Personally I feel as though the food scene in the bay had gone downhill in the past few years and it's been a long time since any Thai restaurant in the Bay Area blew me away, but this is definitely one of the better options in the area.“

“I've been a member for many years. Management has continually improved the facility in its appearance. Thru the years, they've brought in new fitness programs with the best instructors. The fitness area recently replaced and added state of-the-art equipment. Staff is friendly and helpful. I might stop back in just for that. The rest of the food was prepared very quickly, super hot, and yummy!“

“TL;DR: It's always a good time for Thai Time. Thai Time Restaurant ranks among my favorite Thai restaurants of all time. I found it many years ago when I was living in SF and exploring the city. The food is phenomenal, and the cozy local-business vibes makes it even more special. (Much though I adore Kin Khao and the empire of Farmhouse Thai restaurants, small business hit different) Ever since COVID, they have been offering take-out and delivery only; I think operating costs with servers, washing dishes, etc. is unfortunately too high. Although I miss the dine-in experience in this beloved hole-in-the-wall, I'm very grateful that they still offer their delicious food with the same extensive menu. The menu is absolute Thai food galore. The sections are organized into appetizers, salads, Thai time favorites, other a la carte, noodles, fried rice, etc... there are item descriptions but no pictures, and TRUST ME you literally can't go wrong. Besides your typical pad Thai and the like, Thai Time has a mind-blowing variety of Thai dishes that aren't easy to find at other places. Some of my favorites are angel wings, hor mok, Thai Time noodles, green curry duck. Other notes: - Portions are generous - Price point is a steal (excellent value, especially considering how overpriced everything else is these days) - Service is very friendly (I think it's a family-owned small business) - Parking in the Inner Richmond isn't the easiest thing in the world, but not impossible since the side street is less busy - The online order process was seamless. It's usually ready in ~15 min, which is about the time it takes to get there if you're in SF running errands. During busier times, it's ~30 min **For online orders, remember to order directly from their website ( or by phone!** (Third party apps like UberEats and GrubHub overcharges and pays less to the actual restaurant) It's always a good time to support local small family businesses :) Especially when the food is to die for!“

“Honestly I'm shocked by the negative reviews of this place - I've been going here for many years and I LOVE it. I'm vegetarian so I've never tried any of the meat dishes but my dad loves the pumpkin chicken curry and my stepmom loves the salmon. I usually get either the yellow curry or the praram and both are delicious. I also love the fried tofu as an appetizer. Thai food has always been my absolute favorite cuisine and Tub Tim is a fabulous little family owned restaurant that I'm always happy to support. (Not to mention their prices are more than reasonable for the area!)“
