They have a good selection of tasty wines and the charcuterie platter presented well with a nice selection of meats and cheeses. Our first server didn't know anything about wine and confessed to only drinking reds so she brought over a second person who knew more.“

We did a flexible set-up with a minimum charged for wine & charcuterie and then cash bar after that, which is ideal for this type of event. I went for the five course (which turned out to be seven) food and wine pairing and was blown away. Hands down the best food and wine I have put in my mouth. Ever. There were some really delicious ones we had. One thing I found totally obnoxious and unhelpful were the descriptions of the wine. No joke - these were some descriptions. We are paying for wine, please describe it. This is not a creative writing class. She agreed the written descriptions were not as helpful as they could be but it was not her decision. We seriously would not have tried any of the wines just based on those descriptions. I had to knock off one star because of this.Advent calendar - was skeptical based on some shipping issues I read from the previous year. I got mine on time and the variety was good! I would say I really enjoyed about 70% and the 30% were interesting/good, not my favorite but cool to try. I would do it again next year.“

It has a fun bocce court, is well decorated with a sense of atmosphere, and the folks here really know a lot about wine. All the food is really delicious so I recommend getting something to go along with your drinks!“

“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I am a business owner a few doors down and I wandered in with a friend after work one night about a month ago. We were met with such incredible warmth from the staff and the environment itself, even without a reservation. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Josh, only to find out later that he is the owner. He made excellent recommendations on everything from our drinks to dessert. The bar didn’t feel isolated from the rest of the restaurant and guests, but rather was lively hub frequented by kitchen and serving staff and warmed by a smoldering wood fire. The coziest. We swooned for the poke appetizer, complete with house-made toasted, but not crisp, blue corn tortillas. The pork shoulder tacos—also to die for. I have to say though, that the star on the sidelines was the beans. I honestly didn’t know I could feel this way about beans…but I digress. Josh bounced around from table to table all night, never letting a single ball drop, making every guest feel like *his* guest. A pot de crème sealed the evening in perfect bliss. I’m back a month later with the same friend, eating different and somehow even more incredible entrees: ribeye, halibut and a rhubarb crisp for dessert. I scarcely ever take the time to write a review as I prefer to vote with my $ and my feet, but I simply couldn’t eat here again without taking the time to sing it’s praises. Eat here.“

Victoria (the owner) helped us plan the event and the atmosphere was perfect and she and her staff provided great service throughout the event. The wine and empanadas are excellent. “We had a lovely trip to Tiburon and started at this wine bar. We both ordered champagne flights, but my only complaint was that the flight didn’t clearly indicate one of the servings would be Cremant. As a restaurant owner who works with plant-based wines, I’m familiar with Cremant—it doesn’t agree with me and always makes me sick. When the host began serving it, I immediately declined and asked for a substitution. She kindly gave me a double pour of the rosé instead, and we both agreed the second brut was our favorite.

The staff were friendly, the vibes were chill, but the space itself is small and felt a bit cold. One host gave us great recommendations for nearby spots, and another pointed us to the best fries in town—Sam’s definitely delivers on that!

Overall, I’d come back here for a glass of wine, especially for a cozy date night.“

Most recently, the owner Greg, took our photo and gave us a complimentary glass of Champagne to mark the occasion. “Very good, but not perfect. Maybe the recent Michelin star and the hype skewed some of my expectations, but while some dishes were outstanding, others fell a bit flat.

The beginning of the meal started out stronger, with a simple, but satisfying bread and butter and flavorful first course, for which I received a vegetarian variation to accommodate my finned fish allergy.

The 2nd course with the poached egg was definitely the best part of the whole meal - very rich, but silky and complex with flavor and texture.

The 3rd course pastas were both amazing for the same reasons as the 2nd and a close favorite.

The 4th courses were where things disappoint a bit: Though the lobster 3 ways sounds great, the stew was a little too overpowering in flavor and hiding the lobster's flavor (though there was a decent amount of lobster meat in there). The sauce that accompanied the tail was delicious, but the tail was uneven in doneness, with the narrow part a bit overdone while the thicker part was just right. The tempura claw was perfect and the best part of the main course.
For my husband's main course- the wagyu bavette. It was delicious.

The 5th course - dessert - was also a mix. I found the chocolate pear too one-note and overpowering with pear (expecting other flavors to come out of the chocolate, cake, or almond shortbread). My husband's sundae was much better with all the right flavors and balance coming through.

“We have been going to Pizetta for too many years to count now. Always yummy, craveable pizzas and interesting starters - not your ordinary starters. They are ever-changing and highlight whatever was freshest from the farmer's market. Don't forget the desserts which include always-available options as well as specials. They can get busy (because they are just that good) but, we think, it's well worth the wait. Wish they'd open other locations but understand the desire to stay small and true to their roots.“

“Update: Since my last visit, the service, cleanliness and overall atmosphere has been great. Thank you for very much for the great times and amazing food.

Food is great, latte is over the top sweet. The breakfast hash is great, we come back on the regular for this. The booth couches are a place to avoid, you can literally feel the spring coils ripping through material and assaulting you like you an unwanted city tax. The service is beyond shocking, they rarely clean the tables or chairs, we got there first thing in the morning as they opened and had to wipe down the chairs that had accumulated food from the night before. Wait staff have no time or training to even engage with customers in small chit chat, it's basically a transaction to them and nothing else.

Overall, great food, terrible service, terrible atmosphere. Management need to spend more money on refurbishing and making the place feel like a great corner cafe instead of the run down cash cow that it is.“

“Lunch buffet was fabulous, every item was superbly delicious. Tandoori chicken and butter chicken; very tasty pakoras (not at all greasy); aloos with potatoes and/or garbanzos; loved the 3 different chutneys and the raita. Can’t remember all the dishes but they were plentiful and perfectly spiced and prepared. The buffet included unlimited chai tea and a choice of 3 different naans, the garlic one was outstanding. We were too full to try the desserts. The owner was very kind and caring, service was excellent. Sadly there were very few customers, please come in for lunch or dinner to support post-pandemic downtown San Rafael, and especially New Delhi Indian Cuisine. It is in the former Lotus Restaurant location, with easy parking and access to the Smart Train.
We’ll be back soon and often for a great satisfying Indian meal.“
