“Delicious Thai food. We were so pleased to find a Thai restaurant where sweet is not a prominent profile in their food. We loved the sour pork, the banana blossom and squid, the eggplant, and the beef jungle curry - they were delicious and had so many little creative touches. The highlight of the meal for me was the smoked young coconut ice cream. So many nostalgic flavors that I have not had outside of Thailand. The Thai smoked candle flavor, the candied water palm fruit, the young rice syrup - just so special. Such a joy to be able to have this in San Francisco. Brought me back to precious moments in Thailand visiting family.“

“We stopped by after a long day of exploring San Francisco and we were ready for a delicious hot meal. I ordered the pad se ew (which has all but become my standard Thai dish when I try a new place). The chicken was tender but the broccoli was a bit tough — I think Chinese broccoli would’ve probably been a more suitable variant. The sweet and savory sauce was pretty typical for pad se ew! The portion size made for a nice leftover meal and the pricing was more than reasonable.“

“This palce is a certain of community and history on Bernal Heights. Old friends come in to greetings of hugs and kisses from the staff. New patrons are welcomed in almost equal fashion! The food and vibe is hearty and made with love. No Reservations. Come over, put you name down, but you can enjoy wine or beer from a freat ludt inside or outsides as you wait. Shhh!!! Don't tell anyone else.“

“Food is great, there are some unique dishes here, especially the steam eggs in Tom Yum sauce. Fried rice w beef is also very good, and the sour soup with chicken. The vibe is great, a bit hard to get in still, but you can put your name in the Yelp waitlist. Very happy for this addition in West Portal. The kaya toast dessert is so good, but def for sharing!“

“It is an amazing place with great food and good non-alcoholic drinks. I had made a reservation for 10 people through Google that did not register on their system. But the new person, Yui squeezed us in and made it a very pleasant experience. Eventually, we were 12 people and had a blast. Yui made sure we got complementary dessert because of the goof up. I would totally go back and make sure to introduce this place to many of my friends.
NOTE TO OWNER: FIX THE RESERVATION SYSTEM.“

“I visit this restaurant roughly 2-3 times a year. This trip, I was here for their lunch combo special for $16.95. I chose the house salad, pot stickers, and spicy basil chicken. I also had the Thai fish cake appetizer dish. The food was good, though i think grounded chicken would’ve tasted better than sliced chicken for my spicy basil dish (but that’s my personal opinion). Services was good, and the place is no frills but clean.“

“Everything was super fresh and flavorful and the Tom Kha soup was out of this world! I felt the value for the amount of food and quality of food was decent and I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. This city is limited when it comes to good quality Thai food and Hed Very Thai is a welcome reminder of how good Thai food can be. I highly recommend this restaurant!“

“Our party of five had a great meal. I ordered the grilled salmon and it was great: fresh, well-timed, and not too salty.
But the best thing is the service. The son of the owner was smiling the moment we stepped in. He was Johnny on the spot every time.
Will definitely come back here and recommend to everyone.“
“The Southern Thailand tasting menu was wonderful and totally authentic as we have spent much time living in this part of the country. The food was plentiful and delicious and beautifully presented. Eden, our server, was lovely and had a total command of the menu and ingredients as well as the extensive bar and wine offerings. Dinner was great and we will certainly be back!“

“Such great food and people. We were hungry driving around looking for that magical parking spot next to an acceptable eating spot bingo! We found it all at Gai. Unsure of what kinda of cuisine I said take the chance they’ve got a chicken on the sign so it’s actually food. And boy was it good. Delicious. Freshly prepared Asian Thai or Vietnamese food. I got the Original Chicken Rice bowl with side of broccali. My friend got the salad with Tofu. Both great. He sauces are fresh and flavorful. One is quite hot which I love. I recommend it. And as we sat there from 1:30 pm to 2:30, there were multiple to go orders being picked up. I think there were about 5 orders at a time rotating. Fresh Fast Full of Flavor. We hit the jackpot!“

“love that this place is open late. it can be hard to find a good place to eat late at night in nob hill but you KNOW i'm always down for thai food like i will slurp that mf pad see ew like i've never eaten a day in my life and that's exactly what i did that last three times that i went here. place is small but usually not too busy so you always get a good spot. good menu. decent food and good service. nothing crazy to write home about. they don't have portraits of the king and queen of thailand so like it can't be THAT good but it most certainly hits the spot for late night curry cravings. tbh. what am i even saying. i'm here like every week. and the prices are reasonable for the area.“

“I still can’t believe how delicious the coconut soup was (I had it with chicken). It’s a little sour probably cuz of the lime juice. They serve it on a lit hob so it’s always hot. The appetizer was very good too, can’t remember the name; something similar to fried dumplings that come with a peanut sauce on the side. The staff was nice and polite.“

“What I appreciate most about this cozy local gem is the delicious honest food, staff and ambiance. It’s just an honest to goodness great place that’s been here for decades and I truly respect that, in an era where most restaurants get too fancy with chaotic music and weird fusion menus for the sake of being “cool.” But not here. This husband and wife team deserve all the patronage, they are hardworking and genuinely friendly folks. Upon entering, the wife came out from back, greeted us right away and offered us to pick any table. We ordered some beer, Tom Yum Koong and Pad Thai. Fairly basic items but there was something special about each of them. The beer was ICE cold and also came with a frosty mug. I don’t know why most restaurants/bars don’t offer the frosty mug anymore but it’s a detail that shows an extra level of thoughtfulness for their customers. Next, the Tom Yum Koong soup, which came out quickly. Note: a medium level heat is still fairly tolerable. The highlight of this soup was a surprising slight sweetness, we couldn’t place where from but it was pleasant and overall delicious. Lastly, the well plated shrimp Pad Thai with generous sauce had excellent depth of flavor. We were so impressed with a tasty affordable dinner, which came out to less than $60. I also appreciated the little tamarind candy that came with the bill. Parking is easy as there’s a small lot in front and street parking. There are so many small details to love at Pacifica Thai. We look forward to returning soon!“

“On a recent trip to SF I got to experience this Resturant. Cozy intimate and comfortable, we had an awesome meal. Some of the group were Vegan and they were able to accommodate them with ease. But the BEST part was the waiter he was so sweet kind and attentive. I wish I knew his name. I can’t wait to visit my family again to visit this place and oh yeah the prices are great.“

“I stopped by on my way home. This place has been here for years, and I didn't even know. I love finding great places close to where I live. The owner was very helpful in what was spicy to order. I will definitely be going back, and I highly recommend trying this place if you haven't yet. I had to come back, and the food was still great. The owner and I had a great conversation. “This place was very walkable from nearby hotels. The decorations and atmosphere were so cozy! I was worried when I saw only 1 person in the kitchen, but we did not have to wait long for our food, but there was also only one other party there. The Roti Canai was amazing, the red curry flavor was one of the best I've had in a long time. The rest of the food we had was incredibly good too. If I lived nearby I would be coming here all the time! Only downside is the vegetarian options were not clearly marked, and there were 2 pieces of chicken in our tofu pumpkin curry.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options not labeled, and kitchen might accidently put chicken pieces in tofu dishes.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mama Mu's Bistro, and it was an experience worth raving about. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted warmly by the friendly staff, who immediately made me feel at home.
The menu at Mama Mu's Bistro is a delightful surprise with its diverse offerings. I opted for their signature dish, the "Chiang Mai" beef khao soi, and it was a revelation. The server not only served the dish but took the time to explain how to enjoy it fully, which added a personal touch to my meal.
The "Chiang Mai" beef khao soi itself was a masterpiece. The rich orange broth was bursting with flavor, and the tender beef paired perfectly with the noodles. A word of advice: heed the warning about wearing a bib or dark clothing because the broth is so deliciously splash-worthy!
To complement my meal, I enjoyed a complimentary matcha which was a refreshing palate cleanser, and a lime iced tea that was perfectly balanced in sweetness.
What truly impressed me was the ambiance of Mama Mu's Bistro. Despite arriving before the lunch rush, I had the restaurant almost to myself for an hour, allowing me to savor my meal in a tranquil environment.
Overall, Mama Mu's Bistro exceeded my expectations in every way. From the warm hospitality to the expertly crafted dishes, it's a place I can't wait to visit again soon. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience with a touch of culinary flair, Mama Mu's Bistro should be at the top of your list.“

“Ok well let me start off by saying, pictures will not do this place justice, nor will talking about it. You need to experience it for yourself. As someone who travels often looking for places to eat this place does not miss! I ordered 2 different plates and a drink and all i can say is, Delicious! 1st plate was a pork belly with over easy egg, artichoke, and potatoes wedges. Pork belly was melting in my mouth at how good it was! The egg on top made runny was perfect with the artichoke because it literally had me in a chokehold(in a good way) lol... (and mind you, im not big on artichoke) the sauce from the pork belly and runny egg was good for the wedges and 😩 my goodness. I can speak only good of the next plate.
The second plate i ordered was a chicken and waffle plate, and when I tell you it was good, I mean it. The chicken was tender, juicy, crispy on the outside, and flavorful. I decided to pour the honey over both the chicken. And the waffle and I'm glad I did! Just made it that much better. The fruit around the plate was all crisp, sweet, and very meticulously placed around the platter. Not one sour blueberry or badly flavored orange. To top it all off my drink order was a lavender lemonade, and mind you the chicken and waffle was sweet so you would think to yourself, I won't be able to taste the lemonade after eating something sweet? WRONG. the drink is very beautifully made and tastes just as wonderful. If there's one thing I could think of in terms of improvement it would probably be the lavender in the lemonade wasn't strong, but aside from that I had no problem drinking it nor eating anything on my plates. I will definitely make sure to come back with friends.“
