“Each experience at Osteria Fasulo in Davis, CA has been excellent across the board. We have enjoyed marvelous experiences here for many years and our recent Anniversary dinner was no exception. The parmesan souffle wrapped in prosciutto and surrounded with diced peaches was delectable and could be shared if desired. My wife loved the pasta with plentiful Dungeness crab and I selected the delicious squab. I chose this because it is not often offered on restaurant menus and upon Matteo's recommendation. His service, once again, was impeccable. On a day when the temperature rose to 103 degeees, there were only a few diners outside in the beautiful setting and by 6PM on a Friday evening the inside was packed and patrons were waiting to be seated. Yes, it is pricey for some secondi offerings but overall worh it for one the best on food quality, preparation, presentation and service. Highly recommended.“

The pork soup dumplings (XLB) were decent, but the garlic noodles was too sweet, and the tofu and the green beans were both very bland. Fast and efficient service. Large free parking lot.“

“Even though this is a pizza place, the hamburgers here are outstanding; all the food is great, but the hamburgers are my favorite. Early Friday evening I was in a long line to pick up my to-go order (Aggie hamburgers). Tiffany at the cashier’s counter was friendly, efficient, helpful and incredibly service oriented despite the long line. Her extra service and kindness were dispatched very quickly (not holding up the line) and were VERY appreciated. Will come back again with service like Tiffany’s.“

Tucked away from all the hustle and bustle, this is a hidden gem for the food alone (I suggest the chciken curry and potstickers), but then the added bonus of an owner who very clearly cares about her business and the community. In my 3 years now in Davis, I haven't found an owner who has been so personable and treats customers like family as much as she did, even taking moments to interact with our 6 month old. We felt as if we were eating right at home! We will 100% be back! The portions are generous as well!“

My partner and I both love vegan food, and was shocked to find Ding How had an entire vegan menu. Our go-tos are the Chin Ju chicken, Sesame chicken, Szechwan beef and a house chow mein! I always try to venture out of our favorites but.. they’re just so good to not get a second time! ? The staff are super patient, and friendly. They greet us so kindly upon entering and always check on us if we are dining inside. Oh! “This was my first time eating here. It was very noisy inside, so we opted for take-out. I ordered a 240 on dutch crunch bread. It was okay, but there were a couple pieces of gristle in the meat and I would have liked a bit more sauce. Also, the menu said it had cheese, but my sandwich didn't appear to have any.
My friends ordered the 13 and 309.
Both were disappointed by the small portion of "meat". One was disappointed that the gluten free bread wasn't toasted, which can greatly improve the flavor of gluten free bread.“

Al Pastor were a bit better than Carne Asada, but both meats were room temp, nowhere near hot, and the corn tortillas were straight from the bag, not heated at all. Chicken burrito was good; meat was freshly stewed and hot; more rice than necessary, good beans, and the salsa bar inside has a rainbow of options.

It’s popular and the patio is mostly shaded and wonderful.

I always love getting their hot pot (creamy veg & American Wagyu) however this time I opted into getting their new sizzling plates and was extremely impressed. So we gave it a try since it was across from temple coffee which was the plan to get some coffee after lunch..We walked in and they still have the fake coconut trees so yay. The layout is cozy with comfy grey chairs. The esthetic is great inside. Just a little crowded because of limited space..Bun rieu - I ordered it and I loved it. It wasn't too salty. I loved the pork meatballs in it. The soup hit the spot for the bright sunny day..Beef pho - according to my friend it was good. It was a little salty. Can't go wrong with a classic beef pho..Bun xieo - Crispy egg pancake. The size was big and lots of veggies came with it. If your craving some salad or refresh dish or a dish to share, this is the one. It was light too packed with flavors..Overall service was ok. They came to refill water. Sometimes we ask them something but there is no reply but they bring you the things you asked. Just they don't tell you they hear you. “I used to come to this restaurant in the mid '00s, and it changed both name and ownership at some point between then and now. Perhaps I'm having a bit of nostalgia fogging, but it seems the quality declined somewhat the change. However, Nami is still a perfectly serviceable mid-range sushi restaurant even if they are no longer a hidden top-tier gem the way I remember them having been in 2005. Their sashimi continues to be decent, as do their bento boxes. They rolled out an AYCE menu at some point as well, but I haven't tried this as I tend to be skeptical of AYCE anywhere. The lunch service tends to run a bit slow even when the place is nearly empty, which I find mildly frustrating when I'm in a hustle to get back to work. The staff does seem to have some difficulty with English (they speak Cantonese as their primary language), which has made for difficulties in recent visits (explaining that I was not in fact ordering AYCE), but I have since become somewhat of a regular so they remember my preferences, which is a nice touch. I wouldn't call this a destination restaurant, but I appreciate it for its convenience and its prices which I find to be far more reasonable than many other Japanese restaurants in Davis. All in all, a good mix of quality, convenience, and cost -- a good lunchtime choice for folks who live and/or work in East Davis.“

“Noodle House, as my family and I lovingly call it, is an icon in Davis. It's a little hole in the wall behind Sophia's Thai Bar that was referred to my husband and I 15 years ago. We walked in and almost left because it's small... and old... and a little sketchy? But we decided to give it a try anyway.
We have been coming regularly since then, and our family has grown, and grown up begging to go there for special occasions like getting good grades, etc. There is nothing we have had that isn't delicious.
I highly recommend the won ton noodle soup, pork chop noodle soup, szechuan eggplant with noodles, the potato curry with noodles, the 5 spice beef noodle soup, and the chow mein.
The noodles are homemade. The broths and sauces are unique, delicious, and literally award winning.
The service is fine. It's the same lady for the past several years. She's quick and efficient. Before that, I think it was her mom or aunt.

The Changsha stinky tofu was the first time I’ve experienced such authentic stinky tofu in the entire US. Although it was listed under the cold dishes, it was actually served hot. The tofu was incredibly juicy and flavorful. The rice noodles were also exceptional, especially considering the price range. The pork intestines were prepared nicely as well. I must say, students in this area are fortunate to have access to such an authentic Chinese restaurant at a relatively reasonable price.“

“Tasty Palace is the best Chinese in town, bar none. It's authentic northern Chinese cuisine, so it's spicy. Lots of people expecting Panda Express will be disappointed. But if you want an authentic and very tasty Chinese dining experience, this is the best game in town.

I recommend nearly every seafood dish, the tofu, the lamb... It's all great. Be forewarned -- it's not boring. It's full of flavor.

Reasonable prices too considering portion size. Nearly every dish can easily be shared between two people.
