“First time here. The ingredients were fresh, though I'd appreciate some corn on the cob instead of just baby corn. Some tongs or ladles would be good for getting certain items from the pot. Potatoes and lotus need more cooking time than sterno flame can provide. Other than that the service was excellent and I love the coziness of the interior. However, hot pot for me should always have corn on the cob!“

Put in a reservation when you leave and then drive all the way over, no matter where you live in LA. It’s well worth the mileage and the price. And if you plan on coming back, even once, it’s worth the membership! It’ll save you ten bucks a person and covers two people. It pays itself off in one visit. “No wait time Sunday lunch before noon. It was pretty good. Need to have a little spicy so that the soup and food would be flavorful. Your typical ma la tang hot pot dining. My mom likes it and we'll be back soon. Soup did get more salty though as it keeps cooking. Not sure if there was rice or not.“

“Loved my experience at East Town hot pot!! It was my first time seeing a charcoal hot pot, and I loved that you could choose two types of soup for each pot! They have a really wide selection of proteins and veggies. I highly recommend the beef and lamb combo! It’s mostly beef options, but it gives you a good selection of their proteins! Also, save some room for dessert! They have fresh cut fruits, popcorn, and a soft serve machine!“

“For the $19.99 AYCE lunch, I have no complaints whatsoever. It exceeded all of our expectations. I've been cooking for my family for 30 years and my friend is a champion in BBQ. We both are impressed with the freshness of the vegetables, seafood, and meat. We boiled everything at the table, so if it's not washed cleaned to be eaten raw, then the high water temperature would have sanitized and disintergrated what didn't belong in our mouths.“

“The best Malatang in Los Angeles, especially the secret bone broth, with dipping sauces is even better than the soup base in some hot pot restaurants. I have eaten at all the restaurants by Zhang Liang and Yang Guofu, and they are not to my taste. This is the only one that I want to go back to because of its delicious flavor. I hope the boss keeps it going.“

“red chili is my sunday spot, it’s cozy, flavorful, and consistently hits the mark. the stir-fried string beans are punchy and perfectly blistered, the pickled chili fish is sour and spicy in all the right ways, and the pork belly is so tender it barely holds together (in a good way). i also love ordering a few cold dishes to balance things out. the tripe with chili oil has this addictive chew and numbing heat.

The service is good however, sometimes it takes a while for your server to cover to you due to understaffed. Other then that this place is one of our faves.“

“Bought frozen food from here 1st time. Great food. Hope they have more options in frozen items in the future. I will definitely buy more in the future. One suggestion: Vacuum seal bag must be sealed securely especially the soup base. My beef stew soup and chicken noodle bags are leaking 😕. Luckily I have ziplock bag on each item before I put in my freezer. Otherwise my refrigerator will be all wet after I defrost my item in my refrigerator.“

“Unexpectedly good personal shabu shabu here in this little cafe! The portion is very large for the price. It's already cooked and ready to eat. Meat and veggies are very tender and the broth is perfect. I think other dishes are just OK. Kung pao chicken was not very authentic. Tea is quite strong, but also quite impressive about the scent. Boba was less than what I expected from a place known for boba.“
