“I grew up on this place and have been eating there for all 55 years of my life. Every time we come back to California, we have to eat here at least once in this trip we ate here twice. Our server Jose in the back room took care of us at our party of seven and just made us feel at home and had a great sense of humor and as always the food is phenomenal. They make their dressings in-house and the blue cheese dressing is the truly best in the world. The ribs are fantastic, the steaks are top-notch, and beans and fries and their garlic bread just top things off. Don’t miss out. Their wagyu cuts are 100% top-grade and not just random "wagyu" that are below the marks. We tried their A5 and M9 meats, not to mention their salmon carpaccio that is to die for. Their sides are absolutely delicious and smart, one great example is their fried pork buns that is like a spin on soup dumplings. To top it off, you get premium ice cream in the end. Their salad is so good with yuzu and smokey salt, plus you get a chili mix too. They serve the meats fast plus your tablet menu is in front of you so you don't have to keep calling the staff to refill. I give them 9 stars! 🌟 🐄 🥩“

“So far I have tried the spicy Korean fried chicken bowl, pork belly bowl and japchae, all of delicious. Always fresh. My toddler only likes japchae from an AYCE kbbq in Garden Grove, but she has approved of yours. 10/10 every time. I am always greeted with a smile. I will keep coming back.“

“This place is great and something I've been wanting to try for awhile and glad I didn't finally.

I had their barbacoa tacos guisados which was very tender and with cheese added. Their salsa bar added a lot to flavor to it and the barbacoa was very tender. Their chikali taco comes with beans and guacamole and I got it with carne asada. The asada was charred very well and seasoned very well also. The beans went well with it and were not soggy. The staff was very nice and helpful in describing what was available, popular, recommended and what they thought it should have.

There's some seating next to their shop which is convenient. Their agua frescas was very good also according to my friend. It was his favorite place so far when I took him the multiple taco joints in east LA.

“This spot is within a food hall and I love these setups because of the amount of food options available.

I ordered their bulgogi burrito with no rice along with their Korean spicy popcorn chicken. The burrito was phenomenal and one of the best burritos I’ve ever had. A bulgogi bowl but put into a wrap and the popcorn chicken was solid. Overall both items were delicious.

I’d definitely come back to try their other menu items and overall it was an excellent lunch!

“I found this new BBQ pop-up in Lakewood at the YMCA and I can’t say enough good things about it. From the kindness of the family that runs it, to the delicious food. Last week I had the 3 meat plate (I chose brisket, pork belly and chicken) which came with 2 sides and it was only $28! The brisket and pork belly were SO tender and juicy and had an amazing flavor! Earlier today I had the one meat plate with chicken, this coleslaw that is probably the best I’ve ever tasted, and their brisket chow mein. So good! Everything is homemade down to the sauces and they have things like burritos and Texas toast brisket grilled cheese. It’s called Axiom Kitchen. Husband, wife and kids and so kind…they made us feel so special. We haven’t had service like that in a long time. I know they are at the Lakewood YMCA on Sundays and I think Fridays and they are at another location on Thursday but I’m not sure where.“

A lot of people in South El Monte love Chinese, Vietnamese, and Japanese cultures and so the businesses in the area thrive. I also enjoy getting Korean BBQ meats in the South El Monte City or a nice hot meal at the Daikokuya Japanese Ramen place on Garvey. I noticed that a lot of people in Korean Town over in Los Angeles were starting to purchase up commercial real estate and launch businesses in South El Monte. In a recent merger and acquisition of a major grocery store business chain in South El Monte, it had become Korean owned as well and started to add many awesome products such as canned boba drinks. South El Monte is one of the most vibrant, diverse, and sweet pockets of hidden gem Asian foods in California and the San Gabriel Valley. When I go to school on the East Coast, I really miss it.“
