They said they could make my cake without any problem. And look what a work of art they created. I recommend everyone order a custom cake from them at least once. “I’ve been coming here for a little while now and it is absolutely delicious, I discovered this place by accident on my way to work one day and I was hooked on the first bite of that matcha croissant, oh my goodness let me tell you I thought how could something that looks simple and beautiful be this delicious from then on every time I get a chance I come by for some pastries for myself or for my coworkers and they all agree that these pastries are a delicious delight , just tried there turkey sandwich as well the flavor of that sandwich was absolutely amazing, definitely have found a new little place to go by myself or with friends“

“Paul is very nice and made me feel so welcomed! He remembered me even though I've only been there once. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. If I recall correctly, he said that the strawberry cake ball, coffee cake, and a few others were popular picks. There is only outdoor sidewalk seating (a total of 3 small tables with 2 seats each). The interior is tiny, and it carries the feel of a quick in-and-out pickup store. It's also right across the street from Pasadena's Central Park if you're looking for a stroll while you eat. It's very transit-accessible. It's a 5 minute walk from the A line Del Mar station. death by chocolate cookie ($3.85) - It's just a typical double chocolate cookie! It's a little gritty and dry (maybe it's gluten free?) but still delicious nonetheless. coffee cake ($5.88) - sweet, with a flavor of cinnamon (not in an overpowering way). If you enjoy coffee cake, definitely get this, as vegan coffee cake is a rarity in Pasadena and LA. ice cream sandwich ($9.25) - honestly, i think this was a little too sweet for me. The ice cream itself was plain vanilla soft serve, but when sandwiched by two entire chocolate chip cookies, I think the sweetness can be overpowering. Keep in mind that it also melts very fast (since it has the consistency of soft serve) and this makes it hard to keep the whole sandwich in shape. If you do not plan to eat it right away, I would not recommend getting this as it'll melt in a mere minute.“

“They did an amazing job with my grandmother's 75th birthday cake. It was a lemon cake with lemon buttercream and lemon curd. It tasted so fantastic. Everyone was giving compliments on the cake design and flavor. My grandmother was in love!! People even complimented the fondant which was surprising haha.“

This was my first order from Van, and I was pretty sure it would be tasty and satisfy my expectations because they wrote: "Under New Management!" We were inside eyeing the pastries through the display in about 20 minutes. My favorite was the blueberry cheesecake crumble danish! The cream cheese was not overpowering and all the flavors were well balanced! The earl grey morning bun also a top contender with a strong enough earl grey flavor that was delectably enveloped in the flaky pastry. Cinnamon roll croissant was not too sweet and the center was the best bite! The french onion soup danish was good and tasted even better when warmed up at home. They should offer that option in store because it makes all the difference! Personally, as an almond croissant lover, I found the filling to be a little too sweet and leaned heavily on an almond extract flavor/aroma. I searched for cake shops nearby and came across Maksen. After seeing their stunning designs, I knew I had to give them a try. I’m so glad I did because the chef/owner was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to bring my vision to life. Not only did the design turn out amazing, but she also worked with me on pricing, had a quick turnaround, and the cake itself was absolutely delicious. We all loved it!“

They have always had delicious Mexican bread, pastries, and cakes...now they have added tamales (if you're lucky enough to get them). ​Location: Super convenient location—it is situated right next to BCD on Western. It is a perfect spot to grab a sweet treat after a meal next door.
​Parking: A massive plus for this busy area of Koreatown is that there is a good parking area in the plaza, making it very easy to get in and out quickly.
​Verdict:
A great, no-frills Korean bakery with tasty bread and the huge perk of an easy parking lot right on Western Avenue.“

“I love supporting small businesses. It is the spot when I crave for cheese cake or need pick it up for potlucks and parties. I love the Japanese Iced cheesecake . It's light, not too sweet Percy texture and so delicious. They have the original , matcha , strawberry and Oreo flavors. You can either one flavor or a set of all 4.

The taro snowflakes is a must try, creamy taro sponge cake made with real taro.

This shop is clean, cutesy and is family owned and I was helped by the owner's mom, she's super nice lady, the owner makes all the cakes.

First, the cake was absolutely PERFECT when my friend picked it up. Any minor frosting imperfections in these photos happened a few days later after pickup when it was not eaten right away and are completely my fault.

The cake is sweetened with monk fruit and has no grains. It tasted genuinely delicious, like classic birthday cake from my childhood. As someone on a long gut-healing journey with a lot of dietary restrictions, this felt like a dream come true. Also, no artificial food dye! Swoon!!!!
