“My boyfriend and I were checking out stiiizy, we were headed home and wanted some food. We stopped in because of the outside charm, the owners I believe might be husband and wife, anywho we got doughnuts, their lunch special of burger fries n a drink, plus a bacon egg n cheese bagel ( biggest bagels I have ever seen)

We don't live in El Cerrito, so it was nice to see something that has been around for almost 40 years. Bless you both, we will be stopping by again

“I got the Apple Fritter and custard filled bar. My friend got an assortment including some vegan doughnuts. The Apple Fritter was great but the filling in the bar had an aftertaste that I wasn’t a fan of and the chocolate topping started melting off faster than I expected. The maple glazed old fashioned was super yummy and I think that’s what I’ll get when I go back. The people who ate the vegan ones were very pleased that they had them and really enjoyed the flavors. They also have a great variety of drinks and coffee.“

“I go here for their croissants!!!! I'm a croissant lover. And as we know they aren't that cheap. Many places are charging you up to $5 for ONE croissant!. Well I went to try Lee's and I've haven't gone anywhere else whenever I'm in the mood for my carb treat. First their croissants are HUGE secondly, they're only $3.75! Depending on how you like you're croissants but this place for me are the best. They're not very flaky and a little doughy but I love that. As far a doughnuts I've only had their doughnut holes which were soft and fresh. And they were cheap for the dozen compared to all the other donut shops I've gone too! So if you want your money's worth I recommend coming here!“

Gateway drew us in with their stacks of pink donut boxes--an immediate sign that this is a legit donut place. Our go-tos: blueberry and crunch which were immediately recognizable in the glass case. The lady behind register was very friendly and before we could assume it was cash only, she brought the POS out for us to tap and go. Gotta love it when a humble mom & pop keeps up w/tech. One excited bite out of each donut and we knew that Gateway would be our fav shop in the city. These donuts are AMAZING. They're fresh but more interestingly, they're sweet without being sickening (think opposite spectrum of a Krispy Kreme). I'm sure there's some kind of sorcery involved behind the recipe, but whatever they're doing is incredible. Even the small detail like the blueberry colored dough inside the donut is testament to their special touch. By the way, 2 donuts only cost us $3.75! What a deal.“

“Best vegan donut in the Bay Area! I was introduced to Pepple's via their cake donuts at cafes like Philz, which are outstanding, but their raised donuts are what really take the cake! The texture is spot on and my non-veg husband didn't put together that they were vegan until he saw me eat one! (They also do not skimp on the filling in the jelly donut, mine was bleeding raspberry jam as I ate it, LOL. Get a napkin!) The new Adeline location is small and geared towards pickup only (no seating, so I guess no more brunch). Bring cash with you as a backup, as when I was there their internet was down (even hotspotting wasn't working) and the kind lady behind the counter mentioned that this has been a recurring issue with this new space, so don't show up with only plastic in your wallet! Right now, the location is easy to miss as there's still paper up in some of the windows etc. but I am looking forward to returning for more phenomenal donuts! “A nice restaurant in SF that you can’t tell from the outside. It happens to be near our hotel and the price was great. Croissant was $3 and it was quite good. They have a lot Asian dishes and also some American food too. Asian dishes are best in my opinion although not very authentic and some are quite oily, but delicious and affordable compared to nearby options.“

It is awesome they have mini versions of apple fritters and cinnamon buns. I love apple fritters, but it is hard to finish big ones. With I split them between meals or days. “This place is AWESOME! Being vegan, I asked what was available. I was told the plain cake donut, the sugar donut and the crumb donut were all vegan! I grabbed a crumb and sugar and they blew me away. Absolutely wonderful. My partner, who is not vegan, got an egg and cheese sandwich that was HUGE and delicious! We also shared a lemonade that was the perfect balance of sweet and sour. I can not recommend this place enough. If not for the food, then for the excellent service. Not only do they serve some of the lightest, fluffiest donuts at unbelievably affordable prices, but they also have a mouth-watering range of other foods that keep you coming back.
