“Lovely people with great parties. Enough nice things have been said about their almond croissant. I think their egg custard was super on point as well—perfectly crispy on the outside with soft and creamy filling. I might have also tasted a hint of lemon/citrus for some extra refreshing flavor, which was quite unique. Always a treat worth getting up early for when I’m in Berkeley!“
“We love everything about One65 but this was our first Bistro visit. Impeccable, relaxed, attentive service. They offer a choice of seating, either in the dining room or at the counter overlooking the culinary crew, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Food was artfully and perfectly prepared. Sommelier service magnificent. We will return for more!“
“This has become our go-to cake for our birthdays, and we love it! The chocolate imperial cake is our favorite and it is a chocoholics dream. I never share it with anyone because it so darn tasty! It is pricier than a lot of other cake places, but well worth the money for a special occasion.“
“Algerian baked goods and sweets at their best! Incredibly, this tiny sidewalk cafe makes all their own pastries and sweets on-site. The owner/baker/muffin maker is almost always there, making community and croissant sandwiches. Seating on the sidewalk will, with great good luck, be upgraded soon with a parklet.“
“A sweet little shop in Marina! Popped in as we walked by and had to order something. Ambience: this place is modern, clean and very sweet. Service: the guy was very nice & polite. - Flan: one of the best I've ever had. Loved the texture and amount of sweetness. - Coffee: really good balanced coffee. We'll be back for more!“
“Such a beautiful bakery. We stopped in after lunch for a sweet treat & were not disappointed. The staff are friendly & helped us to choose some very tasty items. We tried an amazing chocolate raspberry cake, which is pictured, chocolatelovers should try this for sure. A lemon bar & a lemon cheesecake. The lemon bar had a nice crispy crust, which was almost biscuit like. Sweet but not overwhelming. Tart & delicious. The lemon cheesecake was dense but not overly sweet . A light lemon taste enhanced the cheesecake instead of taking it over. The americano was served piping hot & great brewed fresh.. We will definitely come again.“

“Excellent bakery with delicious, beautifully produced pastries and cookies. Highly recommend the custard topped, strawberry jam filled pastry and the Ube croissant. The matcha cream filled pastry was a little overwhelmed by the sweetness and abundance of the topping, but if you have a sweet tooth like me, it's heaven. The flavor of the topping was still very good and it looked gorgeous! My husband was disappointed by the ham and cheese croissant and said he thought it could have used a little more filling. If you are familiar with Bake Sum on Lakeshore, you will know what to expect in terms of flavors, textures and types of pastries available.Parking can be tricky in this neighborhood but side streets are a good option.Parking: Use side streets“
“My birthday cake came from here this year, and it was magical. It had a passion fruit puree, and the sweet, tangy, acidity balanced perfectly with the rich flavors and delicious frosting of the rest of the cake. It was intricate, delicious, and I've never wanted leftover cake more in my life. Sadly, only one slice survived the night, many people went for seconds. Also, the bread is fantastic. A delicious herb focaccia with a soft interior (perfect with Kerrygold butter), nice crust with sea salt. Ridiculously good bread. Also got a brioche cinnamon roll today, cinnabon can eat their heart out. The owner was super nice too, and I can't wait to try more of her creations. They're not open M-W, so make sure you get in over there weekend , or you'll be waiting till Thursday.“
“So much to enjoy from such a cute little bakery. The kouign-amann was a dream, but their crossiants, quiches, bread pudding, and every other delectable offering scratched an itch we never knew we ever had.Makes for a great delivery delight.“

“I always love a good affordable Chinese bakery, no matter where I go! The egg tarts ($2 each) were insanely thick, creamy, and hot out of the oven. Not the mention the crust was perfectly flaky and crispy!I also liked their fluffy sponge cakes (so soft and fluffy!) and a couple other of their cheap bread options. Definitely a great place to get some affordable yet high quality Chinese baked goods for breakfast or a snack, probably one of the best bakeries in SF Chinatown!“
“My favorite bakery for pastries in the Bay. And I feel like I've been to a good swath of bakeries and pop-ups in the Bay. (See my Favorite Bay Area Bakery list if you're curious for a list of bakeries and pop-ups that I love or liked and that I don't think are overrated b/c of tiktok/insta.When it comes to technique + asian/fusion flavors that actually come through in the right balance, Grand Opening can't be beat. We're so lucky to have so many fantastic bakers in the Bay Area, and I've had so many delightful pastries, so I was blown out of the water when I first tried Grand Opening. If you are a pastry that likes interesting flavors, and things to not be too sweet, you definitely have to give Grand Opening a try. Some of the way I gauge a perfect pastry is flavor of the pastry dough, is it greasy?, lamination, how the layers stand up to the ingredients, does it highlight the ingredients included? Are the flavors balanced? Does the pastry work as a whole. In all of these areas Grand Opening comes out on top. The flavors are where Grand Opening wins, many times when I'm having pastries, I want the unique flavors black sesame, ube, fruits, matcha, to be stronger or better balanced, I often find that's not the case. Grand opening knocks this element out of the park. They now do pop-ups on Saturdays and Sundays out of Mister Jiu's. Check their instagram for menu + hours.I think their blood orange wife cake is one of my top favorite pastries that I'v ever tried!“
“Hahdough offers a range of sweet and savory baked goods in a small takeout stand in Hayes. All of the options were authentic and not too sweet. The berliners are perfectly light and airy, with custard filling with just a touch of sweetness. The seasonal one with fresh strawberries is a perfect combination of the airy donut, lightly sweet custard, and fresh slices of juicy fruit. The strawberry jam one is packed with tart jam and really brings the flavor. The Black Forest cake is authentic in that it has that chocolate richness with the added flavor of cherry kirsch, but the texture is light and uplifting rather than heavy. All of the pastries that I've tried have a satisfying flake and distinct layers, and aren't too sweet. The pretzel sandwiches (both ham and mozzarella) options are small but delicious, with the pretzel roll itself so light and chewy, and with fresh and tasty fillings. Overall highly recommend if you're in the area! Just be prepared to take these to go since there's no seating“
“Friendly and fast wait staff. Wonderful pasteries and breads. I really value this neighborhood bakery and would be very sad to have anything happen to them. I hope their success now and for many years to come. They have my support.Parking: Parking can be found behind bakery and across the street in the CVS lot. Very accessible.“
“We love Paris Baguette! Fun fact, it is actually this bakery chain originated in South Korea but has become my top favorites since then. They have very unique flavors, and delicious cakes. Light cream, soft moist batter, with fresh fruit which is very refreshing. I always make a stop here whenever it is anyone's birthday, and have tried all the cake flavors except special holiday editions. Their strawberry cream, and blueberry yogurt are what I recommend alongside the pastry was very delicious. Don't forget to get their app to save points and lookout for deals.“
“PennDel's is my neighborhood bakery, and it is so familiar that I almost forgot to write about their top notch delicious baked goods. Real French croissants (I lived in Paris, so I know what I am talking about), a Tiramisu to die for, and the best carrot cake that I have ever eaten in my life. Every single crumb is delicious. Apricot and pecan bars are a must-have for first-time visitors. Or just pick up a cake for a loved one, you can't go wrong.PennDel's was born from a love of baking and community. Thank you PD, for setting up shop in El Cerrito and help make it the inspired spot that we dream of.“
