“They host a paint night! If your into oldies and painting with a little bit of drinks alone or with a partner, make sure to sign up for paint night only 40$ per person! First timer but the drinks are amazing with a great nice and sexy bartender the ambiance is great and i can only imagine what the food will taste like! Definitely will be returning.“

“Came here pretty much when they opened for the day, there was already some people inside for a Saturday. When we finished eating, the restaurant was barely half full?

Food wise, the bbq meats are pretty decent cuts for what you pay for and the big shrimp we ordered is actually pretty good. They didn't have a real fishy smell, which is a plus, knowing some places just serve what they have sitting out.

There is a sauce bar with appetizers near the front of the restaurant, the bar itself is already baked into the price, there isn't any extra fee. There is also a self serve sherbet freezer with three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and rainbow, as of writing this.

For the non grill foods, the soup and cold noodles are decently portion, definitely should split it up with others so you don't overfill. The popcorn chicken can be ordered as a half order, and to my surprise, it actually is pretty decent in terms of texture and juiciness, only downside is I wish they used some spice in the coating to give it a bit more oomph.

Overall, if I am ever in the area here, I might consider coming back when I'm looking for AYCE.“

“What a GREAT dinner! Met friends here on a late Friday night and they fit us in. The sushi was fresh and so tasty, definitely the best I’ve had in a LONG time. The drinks were amazing, try a version of their old fashioned but so many different drinks to choose from. Our server Christine was so attentive & sweet. We felt the service was 10/10! I recommend the wagyu dumplings and Geisha roll!“

“I ate here yesterday along with my mom, uncle and aunt. I ordered the Salomon bento with California roll instead of rice. I liked the server since she was kind, got us extra wasabi and an extra bowl and spoon and water. The music wasn’t too loud and it was enjoyable. The salmon wasn’t too tough and had the right flavor. Started with fatty Tuna that melted in my mouth so fresh delicious then moved on to giant Clams (Mirugai) it was sweet & crunchy I could have gone for second order not many sushi restaurants have (Mirugai)The fatty belly Salmon was buttery & the spicy Tuna hand roll sashimi was perfect coz I’m a spicy food addict it was just heavenly for me. Sean- the bartender- went to the hotel pantry and Googled a recipe to make us a round of Lychee Martini’s that were not on the menu. The house salad was healthy (not just iceberg lettuce) and had a generous portion for one person. My friend said it was super delicious - Sunset roll, blue crab roll, and miso black cod were on point flavor wise. “Came here with high hopes and was not disappointed. Had to ask for the omakase since it was not on the menu. There's the 100$ level and the boss level for 150$. I honestly dont know what the difference was even though the very nice wait staff tried to explain it to me. It was just a bunch of japanese words lol. “If you love Fresh fish at a good price look no further. The Sashimi is amazing and great portions. They have fresh Real WASABI available which take the fish to a whole new level. Sometimes they have toro which is my favorite. Remember that they do allow reservations and they are very very busy, which is what you want!

Seating is very limited and the menu gives off a bit of a dated feel but you really can't argue the classics when they're done well.

Sushi rice had just a bit of tang and was light and fluffy.

Dishes were presented very well and our server was thoughtful and cautious enough to make sure our table wasn't overflowing. We ordered about 6 items and by the 3rd plate things were crowding up.

Blue crab avocado roll ($9) - A little heavy on the Japanese mayo and rice but it made for a great presentation on the plate it was on.

Tempura mixed ($9) - 3 pieces of shrimp and 3 pieces of veggies. I'm on the fence with this one since I really enjoyed the presentation but felt like the batter on the shrimp was heavy and the veggies were mostly extra starchy items.

Mini spicy tuna bowl ($9) - This was a pleasant favorite! Just the right amount of heat and a decent amount of tuna over that delicious sushi rice. The first couple of bites where the cold tuna contradicts the warm rice was like being able to eat that feeling of walking on the warm sand and letting the chilly ocean water cool you off.

Amberjack/Hamachi Tuna ($5/piece) - This was interestingly a lighter flavor than what we were familiar with. The cut was thin but blanketed the rice with just a small swipe of sauce and a dab of yuzu paste on top. Playing perfectly well with the tangy rice but also all being a star of the bite while being clean.

Grilled Tuna Belly ($12) - This was the star of the table. Lightly grilled with a bit of crispy edges, seasoned and topped with garlic and micro greens and paired with a dipping sauce on the side to choose how heavy or light you prefer to dip.

Tempura Ice cream ($7) - Couldn't leave our first visit without trying a dessert item. Classic fried ice cream that is wrapped with pound cake and rolled in their delicious tempura batter. Saving room for this is a must if you grew up demolishing these in the early 2000s.

Hidden gems are great to find and it feels like this place has a lot of classics that give you a homey feel where you don't know where to start. Just dive in and make sure you mark off the ones you've tried because there are a good amount of dishes that were of value and quality here.

“I'd give food a 5 but the way they made the ceviche is like tomato and onion based, like I get it suppse to carry tomato's and onion but for it to be MOSTLY that and not the ceviche is crazy!! It was delicious though. Everything was good except the sushi tempura Cali roll, they make their own sushi sauces but eel sauce is DEFINITELY needed. Maybe I got the wrong sushi since they're lots of different ones. The service when I got there. I almost left because it took awhile to get greeted, the were staff passing me and didn't acknowledge me, I thoguht that was rude. Acknowledgement is VERY important. I think the manager or the owner kept passing by and had the meanest, bitter face and idk but I think that if you're a manager or the owner you should be friendly and nice and give acknowledgement. “I ordered food to go and I loved that there was no wait. They prepared my food quite rapidly. I was greeted with a smile upon entry and offered a menu. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and two salmon hand rolls. The quality of the food is really nice (fresh) and the price is right, especially the quantity. This has become my new go to sushi place in the SGV.
