The place is really cute and clean. I had a great lunch experience and look forward to my next visit.“

“The sushi here was excellent. The rice in the two rolls had a hint of yuzu that really elevated the flavor. Yuzu can sometimes be overpowering, but the chef used it perfectly to enhance the overall taste. It really brought the entire roll together. I especially enjoyed the Crunchy Albacore Roll—the balance of flavors was spot on.
The chirashi bowl was also plentiful and a great value for the price. The fish was very fresh, but the standout part was the rice. I’ve honestly never had sushi rice quite like this before. In addition to the classic vinegary sushi rice flavor, there was a subtle hint of yuzu that added an extra layer of freshness. When paired with the fish, it made the whole experience feel even more elevated.
If you come between 5:00 and 6:30, they offer 15% off during happy hour, which makes the experience even better.

The nigiri was a standout, with perfectly seasoned rice and melt-in-your-mouth fish. Service was impeccable; the staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They even made excellent recommendations based on my preferences. One thing to note: Fillet doesn’t have a liquor license yet, so if you’re someone who enjoys pairing sushi with sake or wine, this might be a consideration. “Small plates. Nice, cozy vibes. Everything you could ask for in an izakaya. :) My friend and I made reservations in advance and came to the restaurant on a Thursday night, which was decently busy. I really liked the warm lighting and ambiance of the restaurant. Our server, Carolyn, was really nice. She apologized that several of the things we had wanted to order were not on the menu due to popular demand. We ordered a decent spread of food, including salad, sushi, udon, chicken karaage, and bulgogi. Everything was pretty good. The workers wrote my friend's name on a placard on the table and even gave us free vanilla ice cream for his birthday! The total came out to $60 for both of us, with tip. Standard food, nothing spectacular. I'd come back for the good vibes (cool anime wall murals!) and maybe to try some other dishes.“

Salvador is a sushi chef with over 30 years of experience and is already a well-known sushi chef in North Orange County.
Salvador makes special sushi dishes for his regular customers, and I especially love his ”Salvador Special Roll.“
The Salvador Special Roll, featuring salmon and mango on top of a spicy tuna roll, is simple yet mucho delicioso. It’s been a while since I‘ve had it, but it was still tasty! 😋

“Food was amazing! Tried the chefs combo(turns out the chef I had was also the owner) to which every piece of sushi had a good portion of their choice on top. Miso soup was good and tried their double salmon roll special. Very flavorful and good portion on the inside and out. Place inside is small but doesnt feel cramped, servers and chef are hospitable and ambiance is calm. Great for a date or even just to relax. Definitely returning!

“I really loved this place! Such a good spot for date night. I really enjoyed the bbq ribs appetizer. My boyfriend had the fried oysters appetizer all to himself. I loved the albacore served with very thin slices of onion and a small bed of rice. The California roll was superb. Washed it all down with their Nigori sake & crème brûlée. “To be honest, we weren't sure about a Sushi place in Norwalk but this place was AMAZING. Everything was top notch. There was a line when we got there, so that was a positive sign. The staff was friendly and courteous. Every dish, the Miso Souo, the Sashimi, the Teriyaki Chicken, all of it was full of flavor. Nothing was lacking. Got a 2 protein poke bowl with 2 scoops of salmon. I asked for half rice and half salad, but wow there's a LOT of rice. My brother didn't mind since he likes rice, but I was a bit peeved. (EDIT: Oh, also the poke bowl is drowned in sauce. My brother loves eel sauce so he was glad, but just letting other customers know!)

The staff behind the counter was nice and was patient with me while I was asking my brother for the toppings and sauces that he wanted in his poke bowl. Sorry I took so long, at least there was no one in the store!

“I've gotten sushi here a few times via Doordash. The quality of the sushi rolls is good overall, but the portion has gotten very small. The vegetable tempura is subpar considering the price they charge. (The pumpkin is sliced so thin and the taro is cut like the size of a pinky!)“
