“Kopan Ramen wins the most improved award! I tried Kopan Roman when they first opened up back in 2019 and I wasn't that impressed. The restaurant was bland and I found the ramen to be overpriced and mediocre. I decided to give them another shot today and they surprised me! This was a totally different restaurant. I appreciated the completely remodeled, cozy izakaya interior, and the food had clearly taken a big step up without changing the price much:-Kuro Mayu Ramen: rich without being too oily-Salmon Roll: a simple roll that was elevated with good presentation and creative garnishes-Takoyaki: Served piping hot with a good crispy outer layer-Pork Cutlet: Crunchy and moist with a sauce that wasn't too saltyWell, Kopan Ramen is an excellent place for their price point and they far exceeded my expectations. I was disappointed with myself for writing them off 5 years ago ?. You should definitely visit Kopan Ramen if you want good Japanese food and a nice atmosphere at a reasonable price point!“
“Small, quite authentic Japanese restaurant. Sushi and sashimi were fresh and yummy. However, I couldn't say the same on the supposed grilled big octopus which was rubbery and does not taste fresh. The tempura was not crunchy enough and bland to taste, quite different from what I had before. Service is ok considering there's only one Japanese lady getting the orders and serving the food. I guess because they are not that busy. Nevertheless, service is a bit compromised. Overall, I think it's ok to give the restaurant another chance, so I will come back and try the food again.“
“Came here for my birthday in late 2022 and just now getting to the review. Still, one year later this place is still one of my favorite omakases iv ever had. Every dish flowed perfectly into each other. The ambience was small but upscale and comforting. It was fun being able to see all the chefs preparing the dishes in front of us as well. Make sure to keep the noise level to a medium or lower though as the people next to us were being told to politely quiet down for being too loud. If that's the vibe you're looking for though probably pick somewhere else. Food: 10/10Service: 10/10Ambience: 9/10“
“I'm a local here in La Habra and wanted to try a new sushi place and this spot was amazing. The owners and workers are so friendly. Not to mention the quality is amazing. Everything about this place is a 10 out of 10. I would definitely recommend checking this place out because it just became my new sushi spot..“
“First visit here. Absolutely loved it. The albacore sashimi should really be renamed a carpaccio. Thinly sliced premium seared albacore with a tangy delicious ponzu sauce. With more than 10 slices, it's the perfect delicacy to share with someone special. Everything else here was super fresh and tasty. The ambience is dark & comfy and the customer service was friendly, quick & efficient. I found my new favorite spot for sushi.“
“Came here on Valentine’s because my date wanted sushi. The service was mediocre and food took so long to come. They only have one chef at the time that strictly makes the sushi. I love the anime style themed and you can play free arcade here. They give FREE dessert after the meal. The sushi was okay not so great but okay and tab came almost the same price as ayce. It’s still a good place to eat once in a while. I’d go back to try the ramen.“
“I lost count of how many times I've been here. It's one of my favorite restaurants in OC!Food is delicious and the service is fast and friendly. They had a new dessert last time I was there: banana split. It was fire! The ambience is very relaxing and the decoration is cute.“
“Service is a little slow during lunchtime as the kitchen backs up and they get pretty busy...order ahead if you're in a hurry. That said...food is always hot a prepared upon order...portions are great and their garnish and compliments of sides are delicious. Definitely worth the price and the little bit of wait time to get a good meal. Just a cozy little privately-owned business and not a chain. Seating has a small area of tables, so if you are looking to sit down and dine in get there early, no large groups will fit in this cozy little place. There is no table service so you order at the counter and pick up at the counter. Take out is my preference. Had two bento boxes this time...photo attachedParking: Lot is shared with Stater Brothers and other surrounding small businesses so getting a space near the front of their door is hit and miss but parking lot is big enough for this location.“
“Such a good addition to Brea! We walked in to place an order to go on a Friday night. The staff were all extremely nice & helpful. We ordered the deluxe sashimi set, 2 rolls, yellowtail collar, and agedashi tofu. We told them that the order was for 3 so they thoughtfully cut the pieces of fish into 3 (instead for 2)!“
“Amazing food, amazing service, one of my favorite restaurants! If you’re vegan or vegetarian you have to come here! Do yourself a favor and come here!!Vegetarian options: Amazing vegan options! Truly one of the best spots for vegan ramen and sushi!“
“I'm just blown away.... Like just wow. The restaurant looks like any regular hole in the wall dine in restaurant but what you get in terms of the food and the deal? Amazing! The tonkotsu was pure heaven, so much so that I'm not one to finish the broth usually but I forced myself to do the best I could with this one. The pork slices and the noodles are the perfect tenderness. Servers are very attentive and patient from start to finish. The really amazing deal was that your first two Sapporo or Hot Sake bottles are 99 cents too! Major plus that they play the best indie hits; I even heard my artists on the Playlist. I'm just blown away. It's hard to find great ramen in this neck of the woods but this place proves you don't have to live in orange county to get the same quality.“
“Decided to try a new place as I’ve been on a hunt for a good local sushi place and wow…….taste, presentation and service get 5 stars from me. Everything we need tried impressed me so much that I can’t wait to go back. The owner is also a seasoned sushi chef and he is there making the sushi which makes a world of difference.Like I said, I found my favorite spot ?“
“My friend and I had a great time and our waitress Christine was amazing! She gave us great advice on food options. We tried the Fuji roll, lobster roll and geisha roll, these were the best! Thank you! It's a great place to relax and enjoy some time with great people!“
“The people at this restaurant are amazing. They treat everyone like family. They are friendly and very attentive. The food is also amazing. I have been coming here for around 20 years. We love to come for special events, like birthdays, but also... we try to come at least once a week. We love it here.“
“Ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was so delicious. Stopped by after some shopping and this place was packed. They sat me down once I walked in and their service was excellent. I received my meal quickly and it was delicious. I will definitely come back again.“
“Great location literally down the street so makes for a convenient walk for lunch. Tried the spicy ramen and went with the fav chicken teriyaki plate. Overall the spicy ramen had enough kick but not an excessively hot burn. Scallions and sprouts and half a hard boiled egg. Over all mid of the road. But cannot beat the cost to value. Teriyaki chicken is always good. The staff is super nice and service s quick. The location is busy and although small not crowded. You will enjoy !“
“This place was so yummy! We got the salmon roll, spicy tuna, and a ninja roll. All were amazing and a really good price for the amount and quality of the fish. We even given an appetizer on the house. Everyone there was very nice and welcoming. I definitely recommend everyone check this place out!“
“Small cozy place definitely a hidden gem, hand rolls are delicious. Don't forget to pair it with a cold beer. Great fun atmosphere, Margaret & Richie are absolutely the best people around.Kid-friendliness: Margaret & Richie are very helpful and will accommodate to your needs.“
“We've been wanting to try this new restaurant and finally came by. I will say you will not regret it. The food is fresh and delicious. Flavors are on point and service is great. Plenty of parking. Ambiance is great. We'll definitely be back to try new plates. Michelada was yummy.“
“Akasaka is amazing bang for buck if you like hamachi kama (yellowtail collar), it’s perfectly broiled - crispy on the outside and tender and fatty on the inside. Their chirashi bowl is huge with 6 cuts per fish and can serve 2. The fish is good quality and fresh and the tempura bits in the rice adds another layer of texture. I always come here when I’m craving lots of hamachi for a good price“
“This is my go to place when craving ramen and sushi. It is a small place but clean, the food is good, service is fast, and price is reasonable. The owner and staff are very friendly. This place is located in the parking area of Northgate Lincoln and Knott.“
“Came here for the first time and really enjoyed it. I didn't try any of the Peruvian dishes, but we tried the octopus sushi, grilled octopus, tiradito sampler, one of the specialty rolls and everything was nice. The dining area is clean and roomy, and the staff was nice.Definitely coming back again.“
“I’ve been going here as my go to poke spot for my time at university and this spot is literally the best. The owner is always working and is really nice and laidback and the food quality is top notch, and the portion sizes are generous too. If you are ever on CSUF campus, forget Hibachi San and go to The Good Fish I promise you it is so much more worth your money and time.“
“I purchased a spicy tuna roll w/out tip. I was pleasantly surprised by the respect and professional character of Sam's service while I wallowed from my previous mistakes in my life. I left a tip that I could afford since I am homeless. Suffice to say that I was recognized and recompensed with my tip in return and then some... This kind of service and hospitality is holy and beyond capitalism. May God bless this establishment and families tied to it. I am forever grateful.“
“Love the atmosphere and the food is delicious! Lucky for me it's close by! Each time I go I try something different and it never disappoints - tonight's shrimp udon was one of the best I've ever had! The atmosphere is pink and a little girly, romantic, great spot for a first date guys!Vegetarian options: Veggie tempura, veggie noodles, veggie rolls....“
“I really like this restaurant! We have gone here several times after mountain biking Fullerton Loop. They have GREAT ramen, the happy hour deal appetizers are excellent, their Thai tea is awesome, beers are nice and cold, and their sushi is fresh and very tasty. They are open late, go check it out!Vegetarian options: They have a vegan ramen with spinach noodles“
“Very local to home. Walking distance close. Not sure why we don't frequent more often. The staff is super friendly. Place is always clean and inviting. Had the chicken teriyaki and the Beef Bulgogi. Both we super tasty. Give this local biz a visit and your tummy will be happy.“
“What a gem! The Premium chirashi bowl was absolutely delicious! And Uni and Ikura don - so good you want to squeak with every bite. Japanese uni was tender and sweet, perfect! And lunch prices are super reasonable.Note: Makomae opens at 11:30 am, but by that time there's already a line of people waiting.“
“I came to Blufish sushi restaurant to have lunch with my friends. employees are always friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant is always good. I'm not sure if the owner has changed, but it seemed like some new menu items were added. Surprisingly, there were two types of Japanese ramen. One was Tonkotsu Ramen and the other was Spicy Seafood Ramen. I ordered Seafood Ramen and my friend ordered some new rolls. The ramen was spicy and delicious, and the sushi roll was refreshing and sweet. I'll have to try the tonkotsu ramen next time. I recommend trying two new types of ramen.“
“This intimate sushi restaurant punches far above its diminutive weight. Despite having seating for less than a dozen and being staffed by a sole server, the quality of food and service left an enduring impression. Rolls married creative textures and ingredients in pleasing harmony. While the dining area barely fit my small party, the solitary attendant's endless charm and hospitality turned our cozy meal into a memorable evening. For sushi lovers yearning creative rolls, melt-in-your-mouth sashimi and attentive service, all artfully presented, this tiny restaurant offers an experience certain to delight.“
“I thought this was a low key new place but yeah I checked it’s been around for yearssss. Like 20 or something along those lines. Definitely not new. Has a authentic Japanese feel. Decor all over. There’s always something to look at. Affordable especially for the quality. I think I might actually say this is on it’s way to my favorite Japanese sushi restaurant in OC. Usually I would have to go to LA. There are good one here but they get so expensive. This one is so fairly price that I don’t feel bad coming here often. I have been once and it left such a wonderful taste in my mouth. I definitely want to come back. If you’re in OC you know how hard it is to make the drive down Beach Blvd from 405 down to the 91 and over to DTF. TIP: small entrance easy to miss.“
“AWESOME FOOD AND SERVICE!!! Please support this small business!!! The food is awesome and at the best price point!!! I had the black garlic ramen and I thought it was great! My mom had the tonkotsu ramen and she loved it! We shared the rainbow roll and thought it was VERY good and fresh! The owners are very nice and hospitable. Their kindness shows in their delicious food. They have lunch specials every day for $9.99. My family and I will be trying their lunch specials next time! Also, if you're looking for somewhere that caters for big parties, they offer catering too! If you decide to come to Suki Suki, it's kind of hidden away and next door to Little Skewer. But it's DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!“
“We visited this location a little before sunset. It was quiet when we entered. A young man greeted us and put on gloves to assist us. Since it was our first time we looked over the menu and placed our orders. I opted for the bowl with 2 proteins. My daughter wanted a burrito but they were out of seaweed for wrapping the burrito, so she ordered a bowl with 2 proteins.I got white rice with two portions of spicy tuna, and edamame, kimchi, ginger, seaweed salad, and wasabi. I also tried the eel sauce which was deliciously sweet and another sauce which was okay. It was topped with sliced green onions. My daughter also got white rice with tuna and salmon, edamame, kimchi, seaweed salad and a spicy mayo sauce.Takeaway: The young man was very nice and the establishment was clean and simple. It's located in a shopping center and right next to a chess academy. There is plenty of parking out front and on the side of the building. The proteins were cold and tasty, the toppings were fresh and delicious but the rice wasn't that great. It was cold and dry. We love kimchi and my daughter really loved the kimchi at this location. She said it melted like butter in her mouth.I would definitely return for the good food and simple atmosphere. It was about $13.59 for a small bowl (2 proteins) which is the average price for this area.“
“This small neighborhood restaurant has been around for a very long time. We came here for dinner on a Saturday night and were quickly seated as it was just the two of us. Larger parties had to wait as the restaurant was packed. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. All the waitresses work together so we were well looked after. We ordered the Nigiri Deluxe and their Short Ribs Bento Box special. Thoroughly enjoyed the Nigiri. Plenty of food and a variety of fish was fresh and delicious! The Bento box on the other hand had a variety of different items including sashimi. Everything was good except for the Short ribs. Will definitely be back for the next sushi craving!“
“This is my go to spot in the area for Sushi. Their fish is excellent quality and fairly priced. I highly recommend the sashimi combination. The service is exceptional. Staff is very kind and attentive. The sushi chefs are insightful and talented. Stop by for amazing food and great service.“
“Such a hidden gem sushi restaurant! They have premium sashimi and great Japanese dishes. Many parts are from Japan like the uni. It’s very fresh and doesn’t smell at all. The salmon is from the ocean, not farmed salmon. Toro parts are very nice and delicious. Sushi menu was really worth trying. The servers are especially friendly. I really enjoyed the vibe as well. They play relaxing music. It gives a relaxing feeling like slow-life countryside in Japan. Totally recommend!“
“Place is ok, there are so many better places though! I would eat here if I didn’t want to go out too far. Black garlic ramen was seriously lacking flavor but the udon was good. Sushi was standard and the hoedeopbap was tasty, just didn’t have much fish. Maybe I’ve been spoiled but service was poor. Girl was trying to talk to me across a loud room and ordering was slow. It was only her working this particular evening so it might have been overwhelming. We were told at 9:10 that they closed at 9:15 (nicely told us to gtfo), but we were confused because google says they close at 9:30. Didn’t matter too much because we were about done anyways. Despite the negatives, definitely give it a try, palettes are always different. It wasn’t so bad that I wouldn’t come here again, could’ve been a one-off night and I always like to give establishments another shot.“
“The absolute best sushi. Not over stuffed jumbo rolls with crabmeat and rice.. this is quality! Exactly how sushi should be. I can't get enough of Dakara and tell everyone I know to go there. I can never get tired of it, this is a restaurant you go to over and over and over for years because it's that good. You can't order wrong here, everything is delicious!“

“Cute unassuming sushi spot that isn't too busy! The server was kind and open to answering all my questions about what was and wasn't gluten free. I got the sashimi mix with steamed rice and didn't have any issues. The fish itself was fresh and for the price, I was satisfied with the portions. The chefs were also receptive about cleaning the cutting board and knives for my meal. This is definitely going to be my go-to neighborhood spot for sushi now.Gluten Free: Miso soupTamari-provided upon request Hot sakeEdamameNot gluten free:Salad DressingImitation Crab MeatPonzu“
“This has become our go-to sushi place! All of the servers are super nice, attentive, accurate, and helpful. Each time we go, the fish tastes fresh, and the variety of different menu items has us trying new things each visit. My favorite roll is the Sour Patch, and my hubby gets the Butterfly, which is a sashimi platter with yummy toppings & sauce. The garlic edamame always tastes great and the edamame is snappy - never soggy. The best dessert is the tempura fried banana with ice cream. YUMMY!!! We highly recommend Ginza!“
“A family owned restaurant located in the Hannam Chain market that produces some of the best rolls around. The secret to great sushi all starts with the rice. It needs to be perfectly cooked - too much water and it mushes in your mouth; not enough water and it’s crunchy and highly unpleasant. Their rice is the perfect balance. Each grain is perfectly cooked and holds its own in your mouth. Ingredients are always fresh and beautifully presented. Consistent high quality food and service keeps me coming back for more. Thanks Haru Sushi for my happy belly.Vegetarian options: There are veggie rolls with fresh avocado and tofu.Dietary restrictions: For carb conscious or diabetic folks, they can make any of their dishes rice-free.Parking: Depending on the day and time, parking is not an issue.Kid-friendliness: Lots of room for kids to run around.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair friendly with lots of space.“
“This establishment provides a dining experience that closely mirrors authentic Japanese cuisine. Its forte lies in sushi, showcasing a range of expertly crafted rolls and nigiri that cater to both traditional and innovative tastes. However, the culinary delights extend beyond sushi, with other offerings like Ramen, characterized by its rich and flavorful broth, and Karaage, which is their crispy and succulent fried chicken, also standing out. The staff here are exceptionally courteous and attentive, contributing to a welcoming and enjoyable dining atmosphere.“
“Great place, reminds me of Japan. Very clean and very friendly staff. The Nigiri Sushi was great and very filling. The Miso was great and the actual tofu chunks were a great sight to see. Definitely a must try and if local I'd be a regular.Arigato Gosaimasu!“
“Small quaint strip mall sushi spot in Anaheim Hills. I believe (assume) it is Japanese owned/run, so it had a nice authentic feel to the space and food. Had their special $95 omakase at the bar, and it was a solid 11-ish course meal. Decent value and the sushi was good. Only major thing to note is that they serve you 5-6 pieces at the same time on a dish, so the experience is quite rushed and you don't get a traditional (slower single piece) omakase experience. Redeeming factor was that all the sushi pieces were fresh and tasty. A nice bonus was the tasty almond panna cotta dessert at the end!“
“More like a 4.5 stars, overall, the food was very good. I usually don't eat Asian food in a cafe or cafe-like environment, nor am I ever in West Covina. I was pleasantly surprised at how solid the food was. The fried tofu was a must-try, and the bbq skewers and yakitori tasted almost like something out of an Asian bbq restaurant. Major props. Even the mini hotpot was pretty solid. One of the major things I like about Cheers Cafe is the clean environment. It's a cozy and pretty fun place to be. Did I mention you can also get many drinks here? It is truly a cafe experience, and I was sure to get my taro milk tea with my meal.Perhaps if you are next to Tokyo Central Market doing some shopping and want some great lunch or dinner, then I can suggest you head over here, especially to check out their happy hour deals!“
“Alex was amazing, great service small hole in the wall how ever the Quality of the food is better than some huge sushi places. I would definitely be coming here and making this of our main stops after services on Sunday. Thank you Toyo sushi& roll Great place to come have lunch after “
“This is one of, if not, THE top spot in Fullerton. Roommates and I come here at least once a week, if not multiple times a week. A place so good I recommend it to everyone I meet. It’s the best. Such delicious Teriyaki chicken, gyoza, egg roll and a salad for fantastic prices. A reason all CSUF students know and love this place.Staff is what makes this place so amazing, very nice and welcoming, and get your order out quick no matter how busy it seems, and it’s usually busy because it is so good!!! Please come support this place!!!“
“Always been great, first time I came with friends and we got the huge boat as well as some special rolls. I’ve come myself since I live 2 minutes away several times as well as ordered take out. My favorite is always the yellowtail surprise but it’s all good.“
“Food was amazing, it was quiet and mostly empty when I went. There was a moment nearing the end of my meal when a Karen came in and sat herself, and started to hassle the server over mistranslation of words (from Japanese to English) so she yelled at them and stormed out. Either way, dinner and a show. And a complimentary miso soup would go back again for sure. Service 10/10“
