“I really loved this place! Such a good spot for date night. I really enjoyed the bbq ribs appetizer. My boyfriend had the fried oysters appetizer all to himself. I loved the albacore served with very thin slices of onion and a small bed of rice. The California roll was superb. Washed it all down with their Nigori sake & crème brûlée. Love that they are open late on Saturdays too. 10/10 for me 😍“

“This was extra special day Mama time sweet day! because it was our mama time while the kids were in school—a chance to slow down, catch up with a friend, and enjoy a peaceful meal together. We loved this cute little corner we discovered in Walnut. The space is cozy, clean, and thoughtfully arranged—perfect for relaxing and chatting without feeling rushed.

The owner was incredibly kind, welcoming, and polite. The hospitality really stood out and made us feel at home.
Delicious small bite & beautifully prepared dish! We tried the mini yubu sushi, which were fun, flavorful, and perfectly portioned for sharing.
The donburi bowl with seared salmon was so good—fresh, satisfying, and beautifully balanced. We also enjoyed the sweet shrimp & tobiko combination, which tasted very fresh and light.

Everything felt small enough to sample more, yet still filling and satisfying. Wanted to tried 9 yubu sushi. Owner said stop tried 4!! Too much food for beautiful ladies to handle LoL 😆 it is true. Honestly, we wanted to try even more items, but our stomachs were already full!

There are so many items on the menu we’re excited to come back for—especially the specialized sushi selections and the Chef’s Combo Rice Bowl. This is definitely a place worth returning to when you want thoughtful food, a calm atmosphere, and friendly service.

Such a lovely spot for a casual meet-up, a quiet lunch, or foodie exploring. Just a recommendation bigger tables for people who want to order more food and for bigger group size. The only suggestion I would appreciate so I can bring more friends over. Next time I’ll try different drinks. I thought mine was a little bit sweet. With mango and matcha tea.

“Came by with a group for lunch. Welcoming and great service from the lady owner. She explained to us some of the lunch special items and helped us decide.

Portions are huge and come with many sides and miso soup. The soba and sashimi came on top of salad; so delicious with the spicy sauce. When seeing we struggled, the owner was so nice to mix the sauce for us. Will definitely return.“

The chirashi bowl was also plentiful and a great value for the price. The fish was very fresh, but the standout part was the rice. I’ve honestly never had sushi rice quite like this before. In addition to the classic vinegary sushi rice flavor, there was a subtle hint of yuzu that added an extra layer of freshness. When paired with the fish, it made the whole experience feel even more elevated.
If you come between 5:00 and 6:30, they offer 15% off during happy hour, which makes the experience even better.

The nigiri was a standout, with perfectly seasoned rice and melt-in-your-mouth fish. Service was impeccable; the staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They even made excellent recommendations based on my preferences. One thing to note: Fillet doesn’t have a liquor license yet, so if you’re someone who enjoys pairing sushi with sake or wine, this might be a consideration. They said it’s coming soon, I can’t wait to come back here again.“

I got a combo plate and unlike other Japanese restaurants I actually got beef that was properly cooked. “Small plates. Nice, cozy vibes. Everything you could ask for in an izakaya. :) My friend and I made reservations in advance and came to the restaurant on a Thursday night, which was decently busy. I really liked the warm lighting and ambiance of the restaurant. Our server, Carolyn, was really nice. She apologized that several of the things we had wanted to order were not on the menu due to popular demand. We ordered a decent spread of food, including salad, sushi, udon, chicken karaage, and bulgogi. Everything was pretty good. The workers wrote my friend's name on a placard on the table and even gave us free vanilla ice cream for his birthday! The total came out to $60 for both of us, with tip. Standard food, nothing spectacular. I'd come back for the good vibes (cool anime wall murals!) and maybe to try some other dishes.“

Salvador is a sushi chef with over 30 years of experience and is already a well-known sushi chef in North Orange County.
Salvador makes special sushi dishes for his regular customers, and I especially love his ”Salvador Special Roll.“
The Salvador Special Roll, featuring salmon and mango on top of a spicy tuna roll, is simple yet mucho delicioso. It’s been a while since I‘ve had it, but it was still tasty! 😋

“Food was amazing! Tried the chefs combo(turns out the chef I had was also the owner) to which every piece of sushi had a good portion of their choice on top. Miso soup was good and tried their double salmon roll special. Very flavorful and good portion on the inside and out. Place inside is small but doesnt feel cramped, servers and chef are hospitable and ambiance is calm. Great for a date or even just to relax. Definitely returning!

He don’t really eat fish, but when he tasted the hamachi kama , he said it’s the best tasting grilled fish. Got a 2 protein poke bowl with 2 scoops of salmon. I asked for half rice and half salad, but wow there's a LOT of rice. My brother didn't mind since he likes rice, but I was a bit peeved. (EDIT: Oh, also the poke bowl is drowned in sauce. My brother loves eel sauce so he was glad, but just letting other customers know!)

The staff behind the counter was nice and was patient with me while I was asking my brother for the toppings and sauces that he wanted in his poke bowl. Sorry I took so long, at least there was no one in the store!

“This place is so good!!! The moment i walking in, they all greeted us. And get seated very quick. I ordered Mr. mango , ohhh it was soo good! So refreshing with mango. I really enjoyed everything. The selection of the menu are huge. So so many dishes you can ordered, from fresh sushi, baked or fried, alos have ramen , udon and just so many many options. Even have bento box and rice bowls.

The service also realy really good, it can get really busy. But my food come out in a good time.
